"I'm suicidal so don't stand near me. My every move is a calculated step to bring me closer to embrace an early death"-Pac This line exactly sums up how he lived his life. Especially in 1995-1996 R.I.P.

Listening to this back in 95 when there wasn't so quick a access to the lyrics like we have today. I sat there listening to the song over and over writing down each word until I had the lyrics (you know i HAD to have that CD). This left me with one strong impression of this song. The whole song feels like a man about to commit suicide reflecting on his life as he is falling to the floor, begging the Lord to let him in Heaven's door. He knows the result will be baptism in eternal fire, but every move has been a calculated step to bring him closer to a early death. Now there is nothing left. He's completed all the steps to get him here and now it's time to end it. Will he survive to see the morning sun? God forgive him because here he comes. He say's it. "I'm feeling suicidal so don't stand near me."

You know the reason I love PAC so much. Is because I could relate. I’m not saying my life was exactly like his!, but very close. Maybe my life was super troubled in my past. But I don’t know how this song and it’s words don’t bring tears to most people’s eyes? I grew up on all this. PAC was my hero. I was in prison when he died. And tough guys or not. It hit people in the heart in there. I cried like a baby. But like in his song “under pressure” in the dark is when my heart saw the most grief!”
Thanks for sharing that, fantastic stuff! And Pac was so mature beyond his years, its a shame he was so misrepresented to the general public when he was still alive!
Whenever this song comes on while driving I’m so moved by the arrangement that I have to pull over. This song is hauntingly beautiful, an absolute dark masterpiece.
As a teen back in the 90's, although I didn't share the same lifestyle as 2Pac I felt every piece of these lyrics. This was one of my go to songs from 2Pac back then. This song came on the radio 2 days ago and even after not hearing this song on a regular for almost 10 years I still know this song word for word... don't even need the music to recite it. Another great hit from
Shedding tears as I listen. This song touches me to the core of my soul. Pac tapped into a very dark and very real place in this song that exists in the physical, mental and spiritual planes of existence. The double conundrums that many may have missed are representations of the duality that was at play and the internal battle Pac was fighting which ultimately manifested into his real life and led to his demise. This is what you call digging deep, or "No surface level shit" as a wise man once told me.
The 80s and 90s was when the crack error started n what that did to young black males and females was turned where we lived into a killing field ,most of us had a mother father or some family member on crack so we pretty much raised ourselves. the fantasy that America showed people that wasn't from the hood was that we wanted to live like that.. Most of us back then didn't think we would live to see 30.. because we saw so much death either from police or from people we grew up with , just know drugs changed everything when it was dropped in our neighborhoods.

This Hass to be one of the best reactions to a 2Pac song that I’ve ever heard the thoughtfulness that you guys gave on. This was incredible. Keep up the good work.
This song has so many lines with so much weight in the lyrics the one that strikes me heavy is the line “is there a heaven for a G? Remember me” like the thieve on the cross next to Christ that believed in him. And Christ replied “you will be with me in paradise”
I listened to a lot of Pac in the late 90s and you guys, though not hip hop heads, break down Pac's songs than any of the so called heads. And you're so good that I learn new things about Pac's sing and I was a hip hop fan. Best channel by far!
He left hints in alot of his music talking about his death like he knew he was going to die soon and then the whole controversy about it when it did happen. The number 7 played a huge role. Makaveli!
The other amazing thing about Tupac was how fast he would write. He wouldn't labor and struggle writing, and re-writing, and tweaking. He would just get his pen out, throw it down, and move on. His body of work (considering his abbreviated time on earth) is a huge testament and proof of that. And for something to be as deep and powerful as SO MANY TEARS is amazing.
This brings me back to being a child, listening to these lyrics in the dark. Crying because every word felt like I wrote it. A lot has changed since then. There is always a way out if you can surround yourself with the right people.
PAC actually had a song to address the misses religious theories. It’s called Blasphemy. He’s speaking from the perspective of Jesus in the first verse.

You should do the tupac interview with ED GORDON 1994. You wil understand allot more about him. keep in mind that he’s 23 at that point. Btw i like how you guys do the tupac vids. Good job on that!
Thanks Helder appreciate it. We do plan on doing the Ed Gordon interviews at some point. Thanks!
one song you guys should reach to, is Kendrick Lamar Mortal Man. I think you and your wife would really enjoy the song. it is 12 mins long but how he constructed it, it very good. so gave that try.
Really appreciate the suggestion and thanks for watching Tristan Smith!
