Very interesting tutorial. I made aquascutum,burberry,liberty,jaeger etc shirts for 20 plus years and I was on the special armhole machines which did posting and lapseams.
The lapseamer did a flat felled seam with a curved foot then you laid the fabric on top. It then went onto another machinist to be sewn flat.
My posting machine literally enclosed the whole edges in one go an amazing machine.
Our factory is long gone and our shirts outsourced around the world. I wish I'd have kept all the scraps I had I'd be rich haha x

Great video! I have this pattern but a bit intimidated to. Are them but this video really helps. I love the drape of the grape fabric, too!

Enjoyed the tutorial Judi! I always learn something from your vlogs which is great as I haven’t been sewing for that long. I always wondered what a flat felled seam was and now I know. Looking forward to seeing them made up as I’m going to make them for Sew Seven Together

Love your trousers colour f you need a special colour for overlocking I use 4 reels of moon thread they cost £1 each and means you get a good matched result on your garment take care.

I have got the sauvie dress one sewing pattern. I just need to get some fabric to go with if, if everyone made this pattern before, which fabric shall I get.
I have the pattern and I am going to use linen.🌹

You can use a variety of fabrics. My first is in linen but my next will be in viscose x
