🌸🌺🌼🦋🌺🌸🌼🌺Dear Amelia, your videos are very inspiring and I love your look so much. I don't know how old you are, but I think you radiate a wonderful freshness and beauty. The colors radiate and invigorate. They are wonderful pieces of clothing that you sewed yourself. Your new projects sound great and the fabrics are beautiful. Floral prints makes happy, I love these too. so lovely 🌼🌸🌺🌸🦋🌼🌺🌸
Thank you so much for your very lovely comment, that is very kind of you! I love making my clothes and I love wearing florals, I am pleased to hear that you love florals too, they always make me feel happy😊
Nice plans! I would cut the first floral fabric open in order to see the placement of the flowers in the pattern. I wouldn't want identical fronts or backs, if you know what I mean 😁 The blue floral fabric is gorgeous!
Oh great, it is such a lovely looking pattern with lots of interesting features! I am really excited to make it for sure, will look forward to seeing your version too 😊
I don’t think dyeing a stained article will work out. In my experience you still see the stain after dyeing, especially if the stain is some oily material. The dye won’t hold on the stain. Love your plans. The floral pants will be stunning and love your plan for the duvet cover.
Thank you for your comment! I am super excited about the floral trousers too! I was thinking maybe to do a tie dye so a patchy dye? I mean at this point I have nothing to lose cause the dress is ruined. Maybe worth a try? Thank you for your advice, I do appreciate it 😊
Yes I do wear long dresses to cycle in, if it is raining I tuck them into my waterproof bottoms. If it is winter I tuck the bottom of a few places of the bottom of the skirt into the waistband of my leggings and if it is summer I wear shorts/bike shorts under my dresses that I tuck them in to. If it is a long cycle get changed into different clothes so I don't get too sweaty. I hope that helps 😊
Have you tried green bleach on the oily stain? Non chlorine bleach in hot water - it won’t damage the colour of the dress (or marine life!) but should shift the stain x
Hello, thank you for your comment. Yes I did soak it in some bleech and hot water. Unfortunately it did not budge... it is really keen on staying around 😊
Great ideas, I love a good duvet dress, I have several in my wardrobe! Always useful if you need lots of fabric for a toile, if you aren’t sure about fit or a different dress style that you aren’t sure about!
Thank you, I really love a duvet dress too! I often use older sheets and divets for toiles! Great idea. I am hoping to share my new dress on my next vlog 😊

@@ameliaellensews yes íd test a small area first as it’s not a new stain but prínciple is to rub the margarine into the oil stain and it should lift it out of the fabric and then use a dry cloth to wipe away the dirty margarine. It leaves the fabric with a margarine stain but you can deal with that by using biological washing detergent. I’ve successfully saved tan coloured cotton twill shorts covered in bike oil before.
Wow I love the jumpsuit idea in that fabric 🤩 it’s gonna look lovely
Thank you so much. I think it will look good in that fabric, I am pleased you agree! Now I just have to make it 😊

Yes you are right! I will have to think very carefully about the flower placement! Fingers crossed I can do it justice 😊
I just realize I wrote under your comment, ooops 😁 my mistake
Love the fabric for your Springe Jumpsuit, and so excited for our collab!! ❤
Thank you Amelia! I think it will look good. But I keep going off the idea... even if it ends up just being a wearable toile 😊
❤❤😊
Thank you very much 😊
Try Dawn brand dish detergent on the oily stain. Seems to eliminate even stains that have been washed and dried in.
Thank you for that information! I will try this out!
Love the Ophelia dress and have had it on my list too. The sleeves are so pretty. Looking forward to seeing your collab with Amelia x
Oh great, it is such a lovely looking pattern with lots of interesting features! I am really excited to make it for sure, will look forward to seeing your version too 😊
I love your fabric and pattern choices.I was wondering if you have a fabric stash as you seem to make such beautiful garments quite quickly.
Yes I do have a fabric stash! I have quite a big fabric stash! I am trying to work my way through it! It is a work in progress 😊

I was just going to write the same thing

We used to use dish soap and sugar (not dissolved) on oil stains. Worth a try!
Thank you, that is really good advice. I will give that a go! 😊
I also wondered if you wear your long dresses to cycle and if so any safety tips would be great. Thank you.

if you can't get rid of the stain i suggest trying embroidery or appliqué. of course you may have to put some others elsewhere
Hello, he's I did think about embroidery, that is still definatley an option! Thank you so much for your comment 😊
👏🏻👗
Thank you 😊

Such a shame about the oil stain ☹️ I hope you manage to salvage your beautiful dress 🙏💕😍
Thank you so much, me too! I will keep everyone posted😊
Brave you taking photos/video at work! What do you do for a job btw?

Have you tried using margarine to try to lift the oil out of the fabric? I’ve had success with this in the past.
Hello, I have not tried margarine on the stain? Do you just put it on the stain then wash it off? I will look into that 😊

Would love to know what you are knitting too x
