You were asking for dog walker stories: I fished a stretch of a local river a few years ago. I’d been there around 10 minutes, when a dog walker came past and asked if I’d caught anything yet. I just said ‘no, I’ve only just got here’, and he walked off. About 45 minutes later, he walks towards me, presumably going from whence he came, and he asked me again if I’d caught anything. Once again, I said no, to which he replied, I’m not surprised, this river hasn’t been the same since someone poisoned it! Why the hell,he didn’t tell me some 45 minutes just beggar’s belief.
General rule of thumb, which is a bit counter intuitive. Sunny/bright conditions use bright flashy lures. On dull/days or very cloudy water use dark lures. Don't ask me why but it works!
Go there in the summer, and you will catch a chub in almost every cast. There's no many sea trout, but I've caught myself a few , and unfortunately every year is less brownies. Great stretch BTW. Good job with that rare pike, George!!!
Best one I ever heard was for a lad I met a few years ago, he saw a lad catch a massive pike and when the put him on the bank a rat ran out of his mouth after a few minutes 🤣🤣🤣all I could do was walk away. Great job in the ypc on tonight's episode
Hi George, loving the channel! My son and I have been blanking a lot on the Lancaster canal recently, do you have any good tips for winter lure fishing?
MP Tim Farron is working really hard fighting against raw sewage discharge into rivers and lakes and holding the CEO's and share holders of water companies responsible. The dividends these people reap while not dealing properly with waste literally makes my eyes water. That aside, I really love sea trout and good luck with the predator cup!
River I fish has sewage in it. I think all rivers in England do now. Overpopulation for the infrastructure in place. Not built for this many people, intended for native population growth only.
Fishing just off to the side of the ferry pier at Mull one summer, a passerby told me to be careful because the bay was full of basking sharks at that time of year, and that he had once hooked into one that had swum off, stripping his reel down to the bones and almost pulled him in. I said that I would watch out for them and made a face and certain gesture as he walked away. About 20 minutes later, I hooked a basking shark that stripped my reel down to the backing and almost pulled me in. Theyre a bloody menace.
It's not uncommon to foul hook one, or for it to suck your lure in as it passes. I've foul hooked a dolphin, a few seals and something that I couldnt see, but I'm going to assume was a minky whale at Neist Point on Skye.@@adventurefishinguk
Hi, I absolutley love your videos. I have just ordered the Rig 180 as a starter into adventure fishing, but now I am wondering whether I should got the X5 Adventure. Any thoughts on the best one for me for fishing on adventure days out etc. As a bit of background to my fishing experience, I'm relatively new to fishing in general having just got a set of Coarse fishing gear also.
Hi mate, the Fish Rig 180 is great for ultralight fishing whether it be perch, trout, LRF etc. The X5 is a little heavier and it can be used to fish for bigger species like pike etc. Really depends what you want it for!
@@adventurefishinguk thanks for the reply. I’ll stick with the Rig 180 for now and maybe get the other one down the line if my children ever into it. Thanks
Excellent fish 🐟, that lure looked like a "catch the fisherman not the fish " type of lure but it really worked, I imagine they'll work for saltwater aswell especially going for Pollack they love a nice red lure.
