+Jonathanpaulm Good to be back :))
amazing tutorial! thank you so much for this. i appreciate how slow you went & how you explained it all in detail. you made it very easy to follow. even for someone like me who is mostly self taught/plays by ear & dosent know alot of music theory. ive always wanted to learn this song! im excited to get it down pat now so i can finally bust it out at the bar sometime! hahaha. thanks again! 😘👍
Definetely one of the best piano videos I've seen since I started practicing recently! That was really awesome, thanks!
This is the only lesson to this song i found, in that the piano not plays along the voice of ray charles but plays the pianopart. Very cool.
Great tutorial! Teaching kids piano and trying to get them off of depending on sheet music! This is great! Easy, but sounds funky!
Very good, as the two hands decoupling indicators. Very useful for begginers (like me ). It lacks a lot of video tutorials. Thank you!
Thanks :)
Can't wait to absorb some info on this channel just got my keyboard yesterday night!
Great! I'm happy that you are enthusiastic learning how to play the piano :)
Best tutorial, thank you so much! And, please, do more accompaniments :)
OK :)
I love this tutorial
That's great. Easy to follow your teaching. A lot of practice on my part though.
Have a good practice :)
I find it makes for cool improv when you switch from the D blues scale to C along with the left hand, slow it right down and do it correctly.. Boom audience think your a genius
Thanks :)

How do you do the little lick he does before starting over each time. The little roll sound he does
Hi David, all in all nice video. It just got a little confusing near the end with all the changes. Is the song played with all the different variations? I will watch the video again. It's great the way you explained the break of the chords. Thank you for posting this video,
You're welcome Charlie, glad you liked it. I just made a clear version of it for beginners, there's more to share in the future for advanced players. But one step at the time.
Isn't it a Dm7, but not a Dm/C?
D - which is root,
F - which is minor of Dmaj scale (flattened third of Dmaj scale and maj third would be F#)
G - which is fifth of Dmajor scale
C - which is the seventh of Dmaj scale (flattened maj7.... maj7 would be C#)
Usually the seventh makes the bluesy sound.
Even though, thank you for the lesson!:) Greetings from Germany!
well, you're right TOO. Harmony is something extremely ambiguous. That C is there just to make a bass line, so, we can read more like a inversion of the chord than the seventh. BUT, read the C like a seventh is correct too ! hahaha
Hi David your link for piano chords/ piano play it isnt working. What happened? It says it has expired. Please get it back on!
