Not "Parents". . . "FATHERS", big difference. The translation makes this verse NONSENSE. "Fathers" here means The Patriarchal Fathers, Abraham, Issac, Jacob. This capter of malachi 4 refers to the 144,00. Nothing to do wirh parents, women or familys...BUT GODS KINGDOM

The vast majority of the problems in the western world today can be traced to parents abdicating their responsibiltiy to educate their children. Not "educate" in the sense of providing facts or requiring children to learn facts but "educate" in the sense of providing a sense of purpose beyond merely consuming and procreating. That's somehting public schools can't do very well (and shouldn't try to do in any case). One of our greatest needs is for society as a whole to move in the direction of encouraging parents to, at the very least, let their children know what the parent's world-view and values are.
