Thank you for your service Captain Steve! I love your videos and so enjoy learning about these beautiful planes. I also really loved this movie. It was so refreshing after the Covid debacle. I actually got to walk under a SR 71 at the Pima Air Museum and my mouth just hung open when I realized how huge that plane actually was. Just amazing.
Best? He doesn't have the first clue as to what he's talking about. 12:46 He's a P-3 driver. He knows absolutely nothing about fighters. He never should have made it through undergrad pilot training with misconceptions as screwed up as he has.
15:55 F/A-18F Super Hornets do not have dual controls, so there would be no way for Mr. Cruise or any of the actors to actually fly the aircraft. Great job guys!
The is great promo for that movie, for sure. So THIS is what "Captain Steeeeve" has been up to. Well, he's certainly very likeable, and he's been all over the video shorts lately- and I'm not doubting that he's a real pilot, but it's starting to look like this has been mostly a clever promo for this flick.
I don't know if this was intentional, probably not, but during the Darkstar scene, if you look at the map on the big screen in mission control, and figure out where the plane is as the scene unfolds; at the moment Maverick crosses Mach 9, and Hondo says admiringly "He is the fastest man alive", I noticed the plane is practically on top of the US Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs -- which is where "fastest men alive" are usually trained (not the navy). If intentional, were they throwing some subtle inter-service rivalry shades? Dan.
I'm going to correct Capt. Steve. According to Gen. Yeager in his autobiography, he was not authorized to fly the plane he lost control and ejected from. The scene you say was done to pay homage to him. This stunt didn't end his career. Now granted, anyone but Gen. Yeager would have been tossed, but he went on to become a General in the U.S.A.F. .
I wonder if they are working on a stealth AWACS version, or if they already have one in testing maybe, i mean, they were understandably quiet on the stealth Blackhawks they have, but i could see a use for a stealth AWACS, but is such a thing possible ? I mean, i don't know shit about any of it really, but is that going to work with the (i'm thinking very active) radar and radio traffic, or is the way those things work just a dead giveaway, i am assuming that is the case.
Considering that I enjoyed the original Top Gun in full realisation of the licence taken for entertainment, purposes, I went to see the movie with reasonably high expectations. This was mainly because I was made aware of the great effort to provide authenticity in getting the actors in the cockpit and, of course, nearly forty years of advances in cinematography and special effects. I found it to be one of the worst films I'd seen in a long time. Any attempt at authenticity was obliterated by the mind-numbing script and totally unbelievable plot. I think Tom Cruise is great in a movie, and I occasionally still pull out the old DVD to watch the original. I couldn't sit through another hour or so of this one.
I enjoyed the movie although it was unrealistic from the start. No human being can survive going Mach 10.3 when the aircraft falls apart. Seriously, no person is walking into a diner after that kind of crash.
I don't know where he got that bs about the sr supposed to be rs, but aircraft designations have a meaning. It's a good story but not true. SR is for strategic reconnaissance.
You skipped half the good scenes......most reactors at least include half the movie before shilling their patreon, you guys barely did 1/4 it. "Unsubscribe" in my best neckbeard voice.
If Top Gun 3 doesn’t have Captain Steeeeeve, I ain’t watching!
I'm with you on that ! 😊👍👍
Fly safe!
Great video. I was active duty Navy in 1986. Saw Top Gun in the theaters. Was on board the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Thank you.
Thank you for your service Captain Steeeeeve! Never knew you served!

I sure enjoyed this, love hearing from Steeeeve's actual flight comments.
Capt. Steve is the best...
Best?
He doesn't have the first clue as to what he's talking about.

He's a P-3 driver.

With Capt. Steeeeve you`ll allways fly safe👍
Salute to Captain Steve & first officer 🫡
You know you’re getting older when you have to explain who Chuck Yeager was.
Awesome video - have more respect for Captain Steve
Capt steve you absolutely awesome...like to see you act in a movie.....😊
@CaptainSteve FLY NAVY!!!
Petition to include Captain Steve in Top Gun 3

Dan.
Great stuff 👏 👍
Enjoyed that. ❤
Sizi dinlemek çok hoş. Umarım bir gün beraber aynı kokpitte uçarız. ✈
Great video thanks so much!
Captain Steve was a sub hunter, amongst other things. Nice😅
The fuel for the SR-71 had a very high flash point. It was not as dangerous as JP-8 or Jet-A
So captain Steeeve flew Lockheed P3 Orion at his service time? He mentioned that in one point on this video..
Tom didn’t fly frank weisser former blue angel was his front seat guy . Tom was in the back
How are you at volleyball?🤣🙏🏽

Uh, SPOILER ALERT!!! Thanks a lot, Captain Steeeve!
No cone of silence for the classified briefing?😂

Could you react to American Made ✈️
Steeeeeve is the man, forget Tom Cruise ‼️

Thats 7903 mph…no one is walking away from that
i very much doubt that at 10k km/h the plane vibrates so much.
Warthog stick in an SU-57🤣

Mach 10 thats bit beyond a ground take off and landing aircraft
First.
Is that still a thing?
31st!

Hollywood is corny...!!!
