  • In today's video I tried to mimic the amazing style of Kazuo Oga in Hayao Miyazaki's films...on a miniature scale, of course. How did I do?
Here's a really great video about the difference between poster paints and other paints: • The Difference Between...

Finally, someone who actually explains and notes how this type of paint should be used. All the other "how to"s for poster paint on youtube are just speedpaint with music, jeez.. Great vid! Thanks for the info! I am actually intrigued by your content now and might binge your content haha

i like adding them to my watercolors for a wider array of mixing but it also gives the watercolors more body.

I've been wanting to try these paints. Something about the individual jars I really like...that's how I prepare all my gouache paints from the tube when I buy them...I put them into small paint "pots" with some distilled water to dilute. Thanks for the informative video. Also, where did you get your Mason jar palette? It's awesome.

Christopher Geiss Thanks! I like the jars full of paint too, it makes me feel like I have an endless supply. I got the mason jar palette from hobby lobby, it was actually supposed to be a spoon rest for the kitchen but I thought it was just the right size for a paint palette.

HannahStaytonArt can you explain how these differ from your typical gouache paints? Aside from lightfastness and the types of pigments (which are not as important to a beginner like myself), do they handle differently? Do you use a different technique? Are they more opaque overall or are they ultimately interchangeable? I’ve looked everywhere for someone to put it in clear words. I already have so much gouache and I am itching to buy these cute little jars, but idk if I can justify such a purchase lol

Are they really light fast? Would/did you do a lightfastness test on them? I’m curious cause from my understanding poster colors aren’t lightfast since they’re meant to be scanned. That’s why they’re cheaper than gouache

Hello😅 i know this comment is 2 years old, but i was just wondering if you ever found out whether they're lightfast or not?
