    Considering the general prediction that you were gonna complete the match but place dead last, the fact that you took first in your division is already impressive but infinitely more so that you finished as high as you did overall. Well done sir, and point well made about the lever gun truly being the first assault rifle.

      Just moved out of a ban state, many people agree with Karl that a good quality lever gun is a great alternative to a more modern semi auto.

I don't carry a gun as its illegal in my country but I always have a pocket knife and a first aid kit and they have been used so much, I have performed first aid on myself and multiple people over the years and I would recommend some form of first aid training...even if its so you know what not to do and when to leave things alone

    I was under the impression that the weapons you pick for this match had to be between a certain time frame as well as be used in an actual conflict. I can see the time frame is correct, but which conflict involved people using lever actions and 1911s? Are we thinking of the American prohibition era?

    • @InrangeTv
      @InrangeTv  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Classic division includes any firearms that existed before 1946, with nothing to do with any specific conflict. If you watch the DB2020 intro video you'll see that we discuss that in the 1915-1930 period of time, a 1873 and a 1911 would be a very common combination in the "New West".

    Re. rocket launcher comment around 3.59, what date were Congreve rockets? I think that they were around by 1870.

    Now im really, really wanting a lever action, iv been wanting to get a 357 Magnum with a 24 inch barrel. I reload an I want to see what is possible with 357 Magnum and see how far it can really go before accuracy goes out the window

    so what were the others in classic manual shooting?

  • @maniakaz

    During the rocket launcher stage couldn't you just not load the next round (not cycle the gun) and have the gun considered a stick since you were in the manual division?

      Yes, could have done that. I kept with the spirit.

    would the gun have work better with black powder if it had a hexagonal twisted barrel instead of the classic rifle groves ?

    This batch of videos is making me real tempted to snag a peep sight for my Savage 99, even if they cost like 200 bucks for a fucking tiny piece of metal...

    A savage 99 would be an interesting gun for this. It’s easier to load than a Winchester 95. I really thinking the 99 carbine would ha r been great for them Canadians in the trenches

      In my (limited) experience, the 99 is functionally a weird bolt-action. It’s every bit as big, heavy, and hard-recoiling as a Mauser and the action is nowhere as smooth as a Winchester (or a Marlin). And I shudder to think of what mud would do to the rotary mag. Though, the box mag version might be a different story.

    Could you have completed the stages with a pair of 1898 Colts instead of a 1911? You mentioned the Wild Bunch and the last one to be caught was armed with a Winchester 1910 and a pair of Colt 45s. A pair of 1898s would simplify your logistics as you would be 45LC only.
