Labor Day Smoked Ribs with Homemade Rub and Sauce - About the Dish

  • What a great weekend to take time to relax after working hard all summer long. Why not treat yourself with some ribs while laying next to the pool? Well, go for it. I have my favorite rub and sauce recipes for the ribs that I share on the episode of #aboutthedish
    RECIPES BELOW:
    Peach wood Smoked Ribs
    Spice Rub -
    - ½ cup Brown Sugar
    - 1 cup Kosher Salt
    - ¼ cup Black Pepper
    - ¼ cup Smoked Paprika
    - ¼ cup Dark Chili Powder
    - ¼ cup Cumin
    - ¼ cup Mustard Powder
    1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and blend thoroughly. Set it aside.
    2. Remove ribs from packaging. Make sure they have no membrane attached. Season them thoroughly on both sides with the spice rub mix.
    3. Make sure your smoker is rolling. At least 250°. Place the ribs in the smoker for one hour and a half.
    Southern BBQ Sauce-
    - 4 cups Ketchup
    - 1 tbsp Worcestershire
    - ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
    - ½ cup Molasses
    - 2 cup Water
    - 1 tbsp Creole Mustard
    - ¼ cup Spice mix
    - 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
    1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pot and stir well with a whisk until blended. He over medium heat until desired temperature. When your ribs are done use this sauce to make them delicious.
