Hey dude, just wanted to say I appreciate this level of detail. I'm coming back to the game after many years, and it seems like it's harder than ever to find actually good information. Resources like your site/videos are just incredibly helpful.
Been playing a dungeon trifecta Warden Tank build lately and kinda achieved what i wanted to with it. Im ready now, with this video, to make a necro main tank and try out some trials. Great video! Thanks for putting so much effort into your videos!!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to train new people who have never had and make her answer before how to even start a Necromancer. I have built three necromancers and deleted all three of them because I cannot figure out how to make them work I will definitely leave me saving and rewatching your guide as I just know a necker can be good just need help to do it
Nightblade tank next pls: I think nightblade tank is really in a good spot this update... coz of siphoning strike... been running vet trials and dungeon trifecta as nightblade tank (3dd 1 tank for dungeon) this past week... with Lady mundus (coz the race is not Nord xD) and bi stat food.... along with spaulder in both situation (since most dd uses velothi) ... and apparantly it is performing quite well i would say... not facing sustain issue even with no recovery
Nightblade tank is another great mitigation tank with sapphire essence and mass hysteria giving major and minor cowardice along with ez access to major and minor maim through blockade and clench, vKA HM will love you for this tank the light attacks will not one shot you if you can keep up the debuffs and your healers are on point
I've been maining necro for a long time, its one of the most sturdiest tanks ive ever played and cleared every vet trial and about half of the hardmodes with it, the scythe is a ridiculous heal and it has so much mitigation
Thanks for the awesome video! Though I have to be honest, as a new player who is just struggling to get the starting skills leveled up appropriately, the idea of switching for every single fight to be uber-specialized is pretty intimidating if not a straight up turn off to tanking.
I didn't do a good job with separating the beginner and advanced stuff in this video, you really don't need to bother with switching for every fight as a beginner, you can find a guide specifically for beginners on my website - hyperioxes.com/eso-necromancer-tank-guide-and-build
YES!!! Been looking forward to an updated Necro tank! 👌🏽 Question, which trial skills would I use/follow if I’m off tanking? Cause some trials you’re basically main tanking as well but then there’s ones where you’re not and actually even needing to run around (vAS) 🤔
@@Hyperioxes Thank you! 🙏🏼 If possible can you maybe include off taking set up for your future class builds? Because I am assuming the trial set ups are for MT’s? Would be much appreciated! Thanks for all your hard work and content 👍🏽👌🏽
I think in this fight if you aren't burning it, a simple pearl ward, PA and arch druids should do, and with hypers skill recommendation, resolving vigor would proc your pa back bar too
1:22:44 Why he is used heavy shoulder with reinforced? U can change Head and shoulder used Shoulder light with sturde or divines and heavy head with reinforced, heavy head has more resistance, i dont understand it, pls sombody understend why he is used shoulder with reinforced?
Yeah theres no need for perma block but on ka hm when i was learning it i could pretty much permablock ez with 3 harmony, regular pot use and absorb stam glyph on ice staff
Crimson and tremor is great if you don't have alkosh players, you won't overpen unless you have arcs or all light armour, which nobody should be in these days, then again I'd rather overpen slightly than be underpen for a few % on necro before our team got serious I would run crimson, tremor and ec on my necro tank with 95%+ uptimes of ec and 85%+ of crimson, all depends on team skill level and composition at the time
Only ran as tank with a dps, and it works very well. The necro pull and the scythe heal on the "trash"(which are really the hardest enemies) helps a lot.
i feel like if they changed deaden pain to give major and minor proc for 10 seconds flat out any time you eat a corpse AND have it so its a refresh rather than stacking duration as its drawback and than have at least agony totem instead ALWAYS proc minor vulnerability and than also perhaps have a synergy to proc major and minor cowardice while also boosting its duration to 20 seconds to meet a lot of the other necromancer long duration abilities making rotations and magicka sustain easier, both abilites would be SO much more useful with than remote totem i guess also would get to ability to proc minor vulnerability permanently while than maybe also still having a synergy for minor cowardice although it should stick to the current like 10 second duration as its trade off but really remote totem just needs a full rework to maybe be made into a dmg dealer morph instead cause it really just feels like thats what its SUPPOSED to be being another necmoancer ground aoe dot ability meant to be used by a ranged magicka dps who drops it on the boss from safety...
Im not going to lie this guide is lackluster compared to the previous necromancer build. It felt like it was an over explanation of every single ability, passive and cp point. "Here is some abilities, choose what you want and go nuts". Thanks Coach! Also if you blink you'll miss the gear set ups. Which offtank isnt even mentioned. You're right. It is a trap.
Well you could always pull up your boot straps, learn how the game works, and make your own build instead of just copy pasting what people on the internet tell you to play. I dunno, kind of a wild idea.
@newworldforward1842 hyper made one years ago, this is a refresh, and with how many new players have joined eso over the past year I think hyper was right to include all the extra information so people understand why skills are used... you go look at eso logs and see some of the shitshows that are tanks... not a clue what they are doing slotting random skills on the wrong bars... I actually like this guide as a necro main a few things I would change bit only situationally, I believe this guide could get anyone to tank on necro at a decent level
This is a good build. However, you making life to complicated. I've seen a permablock necrotank and they never run out of resources necrotanks are tanking on easy mode if you know what you are doing.
This guide is now also on my website - hyperioxes.com/eso-necromancer-tank-guide-and-build

Loving these long, comprehensive deep dives into each class! Keep up the great work!

the format and explanation is immaculate, wishing an updated arcanist video like this
Yay I was waiting for this!! Thank you
I was looking forward to this!!
Great video. Very useful 👊🏻
bro put the playback speed on 100x 💀
Thank you so much for the detailed information. This definitely helped me understand some nuances of the class I was missing out on.
Awesome stuff. Arc tank next please!!!
Not sure why it was recommended to me, but thx!
Thanks for the video !

I’m new to the game but I want to build a nightblade tank. Would love to hear more about this

Also the change to siphoning strikes is craaaazy, pop cloak and spam it to get max stam and mag
I run night blade tank, it's the best, use the mythic chest piece that's restores magica when you block and it's insane resource management
:) i just posted a nightblade guide in my channel^^ feel free to visit and like the video^^

I don't use trials if I use oakensoul
Here's an example setup for vAS offtanking with double ice staves
Inner Rage
Crushing Shock
Necrotic Potency
Grave Lord's Sacrifice/Revealing Flare
Hungry Scythe
Temporal Guard
Summoner's Armor
Spirit Guardian
Race Against Time
Elemental Blockade
Resolving Vigor
Glacial Colossus

in the site guide it was fix, head is medium shoulder is light, thx
Thanks!
I think destructive clench is a good ranged taunt and it synergises well with your wall of elements.
Short range and high cost. Inner rage is where it's at 🙌🏻
The goat
I know in some of your other tank video's you mention Turning Tide and another dungeon setup, how would i be able to set that up?
Do you recommend being a vampire for this?
Plans for arcanist tank guide update ? Necro is awsome ❤️
Sorcerer next, please!
If im gonna use nord, should i use 2 handed sword or 1 hand sword and shield?
1 handed sword and shield, 2 handed sword is very bad for tanking
Me too want to use 2 handed)
I think you messed up Enduring Resolve and Unassailable when voicing them over, the text is accurate though. Overall a nice guide.
Yeah theres no need for perma block but on ka hm when i was learning it i could pretty much permablock ez with 3 harmony, regular pot use and absorb stam glyph on ice staff
any update to this build with scribing pretty please? i wanna build an armory slot as tank for my necro...
Will you be doing a Magicka Necromancer DPS? I am very lost with the new updates
Why do you say to use Summoner's Armor over Beckoning Armor yet have Beckoning Armor slotted as the primary on all three of your bar set ups?
Does crimson oath and trermorscale stack?
Yes but you rarely need to stack them as you will just go over pen.
Crimson and tremor is great if you don't have alkosh players, you won't overpen unless you have arcs or all light armour, which nobody should be in these days, then again I'd rather overpen slightly than be underpen for a few % on necro before our team got serious I would run crimson, tremor and ec on my necro tank with 95%+ uptimes of ec and 85%+ of crimson, all depends on team skill level and composition at the time
1:10:21 is weapons
Will this new scribing system be avalabe on the pts or only live?
Anybody has any experience how good is necromancer in Infinite Archive? How fare they can go as a tank?
Only ran as tank with a dps, and it works very well. The necro pull and the scythe heal on the "trash"(which are really the hardest enemies) helps a lot.
what is that outfit? it looks amazing
yeah would like to know it too. How is the name of the set from the thumbnail?
@@shenobi2875 ancient daedric
Warden tank guide like this pls !
It's a really nice coincidence. our team started to do vCR. but I've had problem to survive. mainly in Portal. spam Hungry Scythe?
Bring Resistant Flesh too, Scythe is unreliable in portal because you don't always have a target to hit
@@Hyperioxes ah ok, I understand. That makes sense! Thanks a lot : )
a little gameplay would of been nice in the video, just to see how it is before deciding
I want a Tank DD Hybrid have someone a good Itemset ?

first
dunmer race for tank very bad?
Why?
I can’t believe I even sat through 10 minutes of the skill explaining just needed to start at skill setups fr
Trash setup y u running caltrops and puncture 😂puncture will put maj. And minor breach so no use for caltrops
