- I like posting scenes from my favourite shows. Gyp Rosetti and his funny family dinner. Season 3 Episode 7 “Sunday Best”. Boardwalk empire. Gyp was known to getting offended easily but never talked back to his family lol. I’ve always liked this scene. My style is just to record off my phone the best way possible. Hope you enjoy. Thank you.

Poor Gyp...surrounded by the only people that can insult him and get away with it. His family.
Which is why he is so sensitive to others and reacts like a psychopath, lashing out violently. He's hen pecked at home by domineering women.
Samething happened to some famous serial killers in born in the 30s-60s
my life in a nutshell !
His wife was a whale
@@serkdamerc6236cry baby
@@Kruppt808 lolz it's also why he likes getting choked with a belt by women , he loves them dominant because that's how he was raised 😂 that's why he was so in love with Gillian 😂
That pleading look on Gyp's face when his buddy tried to leave was priceless lmao
He was like don’t leave me alone here
It felt more like a I’ll kill you if you leave me here alone look
More like a death stare
@@mitchmac9287 both
That guy is not Gyp's "buddy".
This is the kind of atmosphere Olive Garden wishes they could provide.
LMFAO!
Nailed it
Okay that's funny
Well they got the part about the food turning into mush right
Someone gets a little smart with the waiter then later he comes back out and brains them at the table with a tire iron...no thanks
True Italian. He’s a gansgsta outside but in the house, mama’s the gangsta
They see it that way too. They know he is up to all KINDS of no good outside those walls and they're fine with it as long as he remains their patriarch and provider.
I agree totally
I was looking for this comment 🤣
This I know all too well lol...but I'm pretty sure the one breaking his balls isn't his mother... they're the same age or close to it...I'm thinking his wife.
True italian STA MINKIA
The only people that are allowed to antagonize Rossetti without risking a violent death.
Ummm no, but nice copying other sentences
Bobby Canavale really owned this character, brought a memorable dynamic on many levels.
Which actor played better, Luca Changretta (Adrian Broody) or Gyp Rosseti (Bobby Canavale)?
Adrian Brody was a fucking laugh. His performace was on par with a middle schooler doing a Godfather impression for his class.@@jq6812
Best villain.
More like Bubbly CanOfAle! 😏
A man this bullied at home has to vent elsewhere
Love how you see the different facets of so many characters and Rosetti was no different. The interactions with his wife, mother-in-law and daughters in hilarious but I also like how rather than making Tonino clean his suit he clearly takes a great enjoyment in doing it himself.
He is very insecure yet also vane. He knows he is charasmatic and handsome but he also happens to be sociopathic and submissive LOL (with his women at home and to his breath play sex fantasies).
A lot of men do tbh as you get older you realize exactly how much men value cleanliness from rooms too houses cars etc
I believe they're his sisters.
@@123davarohe told Ginny, he had a wife and two teenage daughters. The older lady is his mother-in-law.
Tonino was Gyp’s enforcer/muscle, I think cleaning his suit for him would be below his pay grade, lol. Then again it is Gyp so if he wanted him to do it he probably would’ve.
"What are we, cats in an alley?" Love it. I will be saying this at dinner tonight for sure.
so did u say it?
@@quetshupfa I forgot to. But there is always tomorrow.
@@willusa4167 make shure u say it before the eclipse
Pls don’t, only respectable classy ppl can say this
This is such a hilarious scene and not sure if its been mentioned but I think that this explains his masochistic tendencies. When it comes to business, he's a sadist and a f*cking lunatic. When it comes to getting down with the ladies, he likes being treated like sh*t. He has been dominated and undermined by his pretty much all-woman household and the only way he knows how to get off is by his extreme masochism. Excellent character study. The actor nailed this performance and I can see him taking on major, serious roles.
You azre over thinking. It's called being Italian.
@@SuperChuckRaney Bro hes talking about the fact that Gyp likes women to choke him out with belts while he is ass naked during sex. I hate to think that it has a connection to Gyp's female dominated household, but he probably has a point.
Bro, you killed that shit. Fuck these posers. Boardwalk Empire was an outright masterpiece, & in my opinion, the 2nd most underrated/underappreciated series of all time, just half a step below The Leftovers, which was also an HBO original series.
What made BE one of the all time greats was the absolutely incredible sets/costumes, outstanding actors/actresses from top to bottom, but most of all the writing. To call it intelligent would be an understatement.....it was nothing short of genius, which meant most of it ended up going over most ppls heads.
Seriously, it's his family. Basically not even on the same planet as anyone else in terms of social structure. Naturally they can take that tone with him. @@SuperChuckRaney
mmm No I don't think so. He's just showing respect to his family.
"What are we cats in an alley?!" True old school Italian 🤣
That look on gyps face when his buddy went to leave…lol…that wasn’t a threat, that was a beg. I actually had some sympathy for gyp at that moment.
That was a threat ..she said he made extras and he was about to leave ..to Italians that's disrespectful
@@user-nq9gq8uu5f from living in a town that has about 60 % Italian descent, I’m familiar with their customs. According everyone I know who saw that, said that it was definitely a beg and not a threat. Even his associates look of resignation as he sat down, would tell you that was a beg.
We've seen Gyp looking angry and threatening in other scenes but he never made that pleading expression before or after.
The depicted his wife perfectly! That's the type of woman who could ever be with him
Notice her bulging intimidating eyes? God Almighty. She can turn anyone into a pillar of salt by throwing a creepy and dastardly glare.
Haha 😄 no doubt
I'm beginning to believe Gyp takes his hostile frustrations and murder sprees at his enemies and victims because he couldn't outplay his domineering wife and taunting mother-in-law, who make him weak and docile at home.
That look on his face when he tried to leave is killing me!! Lmao
Gyp's whole life is like a bad acid trip. No wonder he went bonkers.
He got Gyp’d
Old school Italian women ain't no joke. Lol
I always find this scene hilarious lol.. The way he gets treated by his family and he just takes it lol but to everyone else he kills them right away. Bobby Cannavale did a great job. Sometimes I record right off my phone best way possible so I’m sorry for the quality guys. Hope you can still enjoy. Check out the other videos and subscribe for more. Thank you🙏🏼
Legendary job of acting
Thanks for the video!
Hey man no need to apologize for the quality. I for one appreciate your effort.
I just wanted to let you know that you don't need to apologize. Your upload turns out well. My compliments on your kind effort😉
If you were recording this with your phone camera, you did an amazing job at perfectly framing it. Thank you very much, love this scene.
Gyp's poor pleading look always kills me. "Please Tonino. Don't leave me here all alone".
This is a great episode because we get to see the circumstances of how the characters are in their private lives, and it's especially apparent with Gyp. It's the ultra extreme version of when you find out the bully is being bullied at home.
Best season of Boardwalk Empire. Funny, scary everything was in there. Loved it
it was almost too much!
Slow at first, but then after ep 7, ya have to watch it all at once...
and its a bitch during the week at ~11pm, when you realize ya got to see the next episode...
I don't know why Gyp is so pissed. He has that beaut of a wife at home!
Or maybe it could just be that she is the only type of woman capable and willing to put up with a pure psychopath like Rosetti🤔
Barney Google and those goo-goo-googley eyes!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Junior, please!!!!!
I would be glad to kiss her seat .
Yeah...she could haunt a ten-room house.
I love how Tonino was doing his best to fly under the radar and skate out until he saw the look on Gyp's face that said "bro, do NOT leave me here alone with them!" Like some others have said, any other person would've gotten killed for probably not even doing anything wrong, but these women just walk all over him! Let's not forget that Gyp literally killed a good Samaritan and beat the fuck out of a priest (maybe even killed him offscreen lol)
That messed up given the fact Gyp is Roman Catholic and beats up a priest to death smh that pretty low
Exactly. They all know he does horrible things for a living yet they put HIM in his place LOL. It's no wonder his wife seems to be wearing the pants when considering his submissive sex fetishes.
@@christinasavannah7992 he interrupted Gyps Prayer, you don’t interrupt someone while they pray? Have they no decency !!??
@@Rtb323 yeah but you dont even harm a Nun or Priest.....that a Low even unforgivable to gods eyes
Gyp also killed Tonino’s cousin.
I never knew he actually had a wife
If they can stand over Gyp, and intimidated him; there the real villians 😅
Ha, Gyps daughter has a crush on Tonino! Look at her eyes when he sits down.
Big moon eyes. She's full of hormones.
I loved how his sister is EXACTLY like him

Man no wonder the guy was so sensitive and quick tempered 😂😂😂😂😂
It reminds me of Stalin, who was still apprehensive of his mother even when everyone else in the country feared him.
This was his wife and mother in law but yes I loved the look she gave him like don’t even try it
His friend was so Loyal and Knew He better sit his ass Down for that MEAL! lol
The wisest choice Tonino sat down for an Easter dinner with his boss' family. If he chose not to? Well, remember the beach scene of what Gyp did to his poor cousin? Yup. Exactly.
See I don't think that's a look of desperation and pleading from Gyp at Tonino. That's a look that says "You better sit down now or I'm gonna beat the ever living shit out of you later" kind of look.
Can't read a face? Pay attention to his brows, that's not a threatening look.
@@twisted_nether373 It's the "are you going to refuse my dear mother's hospitality?" look.
In the moment it's just going to hurt his feelings, however, when Gyps feelings are hurt it quickly becomes a murderous grudge so Tonino has reason to be afraid.
I see it as more of a “don’t leave me here alone with these women” kinda look
Even if it was a pleading look, I think Gyp would have held it against Tonino & likely could have contributed to Tonio getting murdered. Maybe not that day but soon
Explains why he’s so sensitive. Only his fam can come at him like that.
Yeah. He’s hyper sensitive because his entire life he was constantly under attack from his overbearing family. They crushed sweet, innocent Gyp along time ago 😢😂
That's exactly what evil woman are like. Most real life criminals statistically report that they were emotionally abused by a female authority figure in their life. Not a male abuser. But female abusers. Serial killers etc are often created because of female family members bullying them or belittling them etc etc @@mondoseguendo6113
Tonino should've entered politics, he was a wise man
Great scene ! Cheers for the upload, you can see why gyp is gyp after seeing the family lol its like the Adams family lol
Really odd that a random character like Tonino Sandrelli actually survived into the the last season.
Tonito always knew which way the wind blew
For an antagonist who immerses himself in the sadistic pleasures of murdering his enemies, finding Gyp artistically grooming his studs with a household brush is most rewarding. Style and grace are appealing features for gents back then to look their best, even for gangsta hoodlums such as Rosetti.
Thats not a household brush, it's the 1920s version of a lint roller. He wasn't just caressing his "studs" ,he was seeing lint dissappear and reappear before his eyes. "What,am I a joke to you lint"?
2:26 Gyp: please don't leave me with these bitches, it's Easter for Christ sake!!!!
OR
Gyp: Tonino where you going??? We're having yellow marshmallow chicks and jellybeans for dessert SIT-DOWN!!!
The first one ☝🏾
Thank you so much for uploading this!

He got the eyes from the boiled sheep's head. I thought that was only an Irish thing, but I guess the Italian community aren't that far removed either. Pretty gross in hindsight, but back then most things were eaten due to poverty.
Yep. Boiled sheep brain soup for Turks. I was made to eat it too once because my parents forced me to. It tastes, smells, looks and feels just as gross as it sounds.
@@JugularX What doesn't kill you makes you stronger 💪 😄. Or makes your stomach stronger anyway. Thanks for replying 👍
I came on here to see what he was eating thanks
Most food that was considered poverty-stricken are now delicacies
Also symbolic use of imagery. Gyps eyes have gotten too big for his stomach.
They said "You are the Man of the house and we will not accept you being less"
He’s like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever “Don’t touch the hair!”
With Gyp's ironing skills and George Meuller's selling skills, those two could have made a killing.
Gyp's Sisters are hot
The whole family is nuts.
Doesn't matter how dangerous you are, your family will still grill you. Lol
He's a codependent surrounded by narcissists and enablers. No wonder he's so angry lol
Gyp's wife's face when he opened the door & didn't come out. I run this, Classic
I really appreciate that Tonino knows how to speak to Gyp because if you say something wrong then Gyp will snap on you.
1:16 “Cause he’s waiting” then slam on the door-perfect timing! Then mama’s stare at 1:35-not taking shit from anyone especially her gangster boy!
I love this👌
I thought that was his mom and his sisters, I don't remember him having a wife or daughters
one thing i dont understand about tonino's character is how he was level-headed and smart in season 3 but then the writers made him unreliable and ditzy in season 4
The look Gyp gave him when was about to leave
what are we? Cats in an alley??
I miss this tv show
Then rewatch it
Notice how Tonino walks on eggshells when talking to Gyp.
That look: Oh god. Please don’t leave me here with these women….
I can't believe that's supposed to be his wife 😂😂
This is my favorite scene in the show even the toughest most ruthless people have women in there life that put them in there place
Awesome
This is the moment I would have left Gyp. It was clear he was no leader, had no real answers for the adversity his gang was going through. He then gets intimidated by his mommy to eat like a good little boy. Tonino was right to knife this dude in the back.
Bone for tuna.
Scenes that quietly explain everything
Come on Riley get up your food is ready.
Raised by women so he reacts like one
Thank you, yes lol
...thank you yes.
Lol at the sheep’s head
Funny dynamic cause they repsect the man of the house but also ride him like a horse.
"Very generous, but...
Thank you, yes." 😂

Thank you, yes.
Takes notes, Olive Garden!! 🤌
So those are why he was nuts.
At least he dont beat his wife😅
What are we Cats in an Alley??? Lmfaoooo those cats did 20 years in the can and not a Peep!!!
Man I said it before Italian ain't no joke. Lol I love assertive women
1:36 That Anton Chigur "It's your lucky quarter" stare.
1:36 Don't give me them Manson lamps

Gyp is a macho mama's boy.
Gyp was ruled by no man on Earth, but any woman on Earth related to him. Beautiful stuff.
Except Joe Maseria did rule him
Gyp gave him that please don't leave me look
Imagine they develop each character and yheir family issue.. that eould be some 20 season easy watch 😂
I’m afraid I am a cat in an alley 😔
He wanted that eye ball.

Not quite... Being from the Northeast I can tell you that refusing homemade food from an Italian woman is a mortal sin
@@jerrodhoward9162I feel it was a bit of both. He definitely was looking at him for backup like "hey they can't be nearly as bad with company here" but also "dude if you leave without eating I'm gonna get such an ear full imma beat your ass for it"
Noooo, that's my eyeball
You can tell who the real gangster is here
I almost felt sorry for Gyp, if you can pity a bloodthirsty psycho.

Gyp looking like a little boy when he was leaving like 🙏 please don't leave me alone with these women
My grandmother on my dad's side was pure, white-hot blooded Italian, and the sweetest woman on the planet. But God help you, if you talk back to her. Especially if you were family. That woman had 12 kids, and took no lip from nobody.
You imagine the kind of nagging he would of caught from those ladies if his friend insisted he leave? “What’s the matter with your friend?” “He thinks we’re dirty, not good enough to sit at our table?” “Yeah Gyp what are saying about us to your friends?” “You know you’re father used to bring people over to dinner every Sunday, we used to laugh and sing all night, BUT not you. No wonder it’s so miserable here!”
Ashlie Atkinson is spectacular!!
