    Yes yes finally someone agrees with about the Hypervenom 1! There are so many older boots that are far more durable.

    For me, T90, Hypervenom, and Phantom are my favorite football boots of all time

    I worked at a soccer store back when these came out and got pro deals on them. I blew out the original color way within a single tournament. Great performance but absolutely awful durability

    They’re still one of my personal favourites to wear and I’ve owned two pairs pairs but durability has been an issue with both. I think the durability issues have to do with the flexibility and lack of structure in the upper, as well as the time they came out was when turf pitches became more and more common, so using an FG soleplate with such on a flimsy upper on turf pitches is already a recipe for disaster. I think the HV2 when they changed to upper fixed the durability issues though

      The Hypervenom 2 did become more durable but also made them super hard to break in if they even broke in right. I owned both and i did put so much time on the 2s and still killed my feet every time but loved them 😂😅

    for starters, the white/black/green color way, was one of the BEST color ways in these. second, these boots are overrated & ass. they were nikes overcompensation for how stiff superfly 2 & 3 were. the hv 2.5 was the best version. fly wire helped with lockdown & they reinforced upper better & i think the studs were slightly longer. overall these introduced cool ideas but they’re almost a better concept boot than real wearable boot

    • @haltsboots
      @haltsboots  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha sorry for hating on your fav color! And I agree that the 2.5s were better, but I like the 3s the most

    My opinion is Nike peaked in football boots in this exact era when it came to best comfort on feet and touch on the ball the the Vapor X,HPV1,Tiempo 5’s are unmatched regarding these qualities sure if we wanna talk lockdown,durability and tech,there is the Vapor 13,HPV3,Tiempo7,Vapor11 which do that the best in terms of each silo, so it really comes down to what you prioritize in a boot if touch and comfort is what you want the 2013-15 nike boots take that cake but if you want tech,lockdown and more durability then go for the latter but for me personally those 13-15 nike boots are unrivaled and will always be my favorite

    my goat for sure and the funny thing is the gx academy feel veeery similar to this if u look at the construction and the upper is close too

    • @haltsboots

      Very interesting. I will say the inter honeycomb on the HV1s was nice

  • @iReinforcements
    @iReinforcements ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Durability was definitely a downside but I feel all boots around this era from Nike suffered the same issue. My tiempo 5s, Vapor X and Opus won’t get sole separation within 3 months, or less. The big one for me was the HV1 would over stretch. HV 2.5 solved that keeping the structure and lockdown the HV1 lacked. 2.5 was a way better boot imo

    • @haltsboots
      @haltsboots  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like my HV 2.5s as well. I haven’t had that issue with the Tiempo Vs, but I don’t doubt you. Probably was the glue they where using

    Nice chill background music! Good accurate review.
    My 1st experience of these was trying green ones at a Nike store. I didn't get those due to not available in my size. Their slightly bigger size though when juggling with a ball in store was incredible. I bought the not as cool looking white & black/silver tongue colourway that visit, due to it being available in the correct size. But the touch & juggling experience was not so good as the bigger size ones that unfortunately left a gap between my toes & the front of the upper.
    And subsequently the performance on pitch OK not fantastic. They held up well I didn't use them much & stored them most of the next few yrs, then recently tried them again for a couple games, & after playing in the wet, that's when the upper separated from the sole. I used shoe glue & they r holding up well now, but they aren't great performers & it's v painful when someone hits your foot.
    The insole performs great though - the best I ever used of any football boot. Better firmer foam than the too soft ones they put in the subsequent versions of the Hypervenom line. I actually used it in lots of other different boots all these yrs & they lasted till now.
    The Phatal takedown I bought was much much better than the top tier in my experience. It shines on grass of all conditions. Superb agility & accuracy vs the the Phantoms. It was used heaps & the sole never separated. Scored & assisted more with these than any other boot (& I've had dozens of boots). I sold it after many yrs with no damage, & still keep a spare pair that I don't dare use!
    Someone I played with for a couple yrs kept using his Phaelon (lowest tier) model non stop a few times a week for the 2 yrs I knew him, & they were indestructible.
    To sum up, the takedowns (even the indoor versions I bought!) are better than the top tier in my opinion & those are more worthy of being called the best boots of all time, surprisingly!

    • @haltsboots
      @haltsboots  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the video feedback! And yeah, it seems that the takedowns are afar better in durability than anything else. I still need to get a pair of the indoor versions as I have always wanted to try! And I think most people who claim their HV1s lasted forever had the takedowns (which idc if you were take downs) but it skews the overall consensus of the boots as a whole to the community haha

    Do you have any thoughts about what boot on the current market/more recent models that are readily available online feels the most like the Phantom 1's?

    • @haltsboots
      @haltsboots  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nothing does really. You might be able to find some Hypervenom 2.5s on ebay that are used. I wouldn't recommend buying a pair of HV1s at this point. I do really like the Gx 2s with grip knit. About as close as you could get I thinnk, but theGX 2 is a better boot than the Hv1 anyhow
