I have been thinking of different recipes to make with my potatoes because my kids are tired of my usual recipe. This is really nice. I love coconut so I will try this recipe.

I love sweet potatoes and sweet potato pie but I don't think I could go through this much work to produce this authentic dish. You'll have to send me some! ;-)
This sounds delicious!!! And you use “real” coconut as well! (I am never brave enough to buy it whole and crack it open myself, but it looks fun to whack it with a hammer like that!! 🤣)
Your sous chef/uncle is brave indeed to crack the coconut in his hand!!!....🤣🤣🤣!....my grandma Lor was the original/official pudding maker in Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲👍🙏🇯🇲💕🙏🔥🇯🇲!
Flour nor corn flour belong in sweet potato pudding/pon. My 92 year old uncle said ghey made corn meal pudding aka conke and also cassava pudding all includes coconut and tannia (coco yam or taro), no one wasted flour or corn flour in pudding bcuz slaves could not afford to do such. They also boiled the puddings in banana leaves, which is known as ducuna and they were all breakfast food with meat, to go out in the fields taken with cocoa or coffee drinks. But you did okay.
Very well presentation love this video and I love the fact that u grate your items.. authentic

You are welcome uncle. Do you think using processed coconut will turn out the same way?
Need a slice now !!!!!!!
Looks so good. I wish I could have some right now.
Love from Machrina's Kitchen.
Looks good 👏🏽👍🏾
Wow, this looks so delicious 😍 Thank you for showing us how to make it 🔥
Very creative! Did anyone see the uncle rolling his eyes? So funny.
How do you know when it's ready?
When you want to see if its ready stick a bread knife in it. If the knife comes out clean then it is finished baking
He is a piece of work but I adore him
Well done
nice pudding ... can we use corn flour instead of cornmeal or any other substitute ?
Yes you can use cornflour as well thank you
You two should cook together more often! Like the whole process looks delicious! But why do you add coconut to the sweet potatos?
To give it a little more texture. And flavor. We plan to do a outdoor grilling together
Visiting again.
Need in my life!!! Caa bodda wid all the grating though 😂 I'll make the cornmeal pudding. Somebody else have to make the sweet potato pudding for me 😂
Watching again sis
Thznk you

Hell a top!
Mad ting
Uncle it's okay to give a little smile so go ahead next time ;-) ;-)
I feel like most, if not all Jamaican men can cook. Am I right or wrong?😁
Maybe 95 percent of the them
About 95 percent of them
It's not the same hon one preserved one is not so nothing beat using coconut in the pudding
Turned out really good but the process is really cumbersome😭
Thank you
He don’t look happy
Powder or tin coconut is no good just natural coconut is the ting😅
