I received my Overlander today and shaved with it for the first time. It is the BEST razor I've ever shaved with. Used it with an Astra blade and it was perfection! By far the best in my collection so far.
Excellent spotlight Jon! Always appreciate your thorough reviews and production quality. Notes on the Overlander are spot on to my experience too. Well done 👏👏👏
Hi Jon. I really like this format. Thanks for covering the Overlander. I don't own a Karve razor but hope to eventually. This seems like a very nice option. Have a great day! -Eric
I dig the intro music! I don't like loud intro so I always have to turn down in the first 5 seconds. lol I'm thinking of trying the Overlander later on but not high on my list for now.
Thanks Tim! Instead of the same intro song, I decided to just let it transition from whatever background track I'm using for the video. Also, I know the old music was a bit loud at times, lol
I have two shaves on mine so far. I am generally happy with it, although I am feeling some drag on the cap while shaving. Time will tell if this goes away after it’s broken in. Best
I like the shave of the overlander, but I'm not really a fan of the brass. I am one of those that does not like the smell of the brass and the drag I get. I don't think it's worth the $177 stainless steel price, but I may just have to get it in Aluminum when it's available. This razor is definitely a daily shaver, and it has no problem cutting through a lot of growth. In my opinion, the overlander is far superior than the CB for me. It has low blade feel, a great head shaver, difficult to nick yourself with but it is very efficient.
Consider this futuristic scenerio. A new world regimen comes into power. The earth is so badly over populated that all personal items are banned punishable by death which a great majority of the earth inhabitants support to save all. You're only allowed to keep 1 Shaving impliment. Which would you keep John? Would it be the Overlander??
You might want to try the Aluminum version. The top cap is as smooth as glass, with no perceptible drag in my opinion. Aluminum also won’t patina over time, which is another advantage over brass & copper. I’ve heard the SS version is also very smooth too, but the cost is also significantly higher & not necessarily any better than aluminum.
You already know how I feel about the GOATlander ✌🏼 glad you got to experience it!
Loving my Overlander in Aluminum! What a great razor!

That's great to hear! I forgot to mention that my initial shaves with the Overlander were with an Astra SP blade and it performed wonderfully!
Did you buy the brass Overlander or the aluminum?
@@robertross8565 I have the brass overlander.
@@DG-cu1vt How many razors are in your collection? You mentioned that the Overlander is "...by far the best in my collection so far."
@@robertross8565 I have about 14 now and it is still my favorite.

Thank you so much for watching!
@@Latherhogenjoy your channel .How are these razors compared to the.Pearl Flexi, the Rockwell 6s or the Henson ?
I opened mine, from my wife, Christmas eve. I think iv used one other razor, one time, since getting it. I absolutely love it
Wow, that is some huge praise for this razor!
Dang it Jon, now I want it even more. I don’t enjoy shaving with the CB personally, this sounds right up my alley.
You’ll have to let me now if you wind up trying it!

Great over view of the Goatlanded!!! I can’t wait to snag mine. The patina on you CB looks awesome… beauty right there. Have a great day Jon!!
Thank you so much Justin!
@@Latherhog you’re most welcome brother!
@Latherhog what a great detailed educational breakdown of wet shaving products.
Thank you, hope you enjoyed the video!
Just ordered the Karve Overlander in aluminum. Can hardly wait to try it.
Hope it's a winner!
@@Latherhog It will be for sure!

Great video! I’ll just be over here resisting the urge to purchase this razor. 😀
Haha, thanks Todd!
I like the new music! 🤓
Great overview. I agree with everything youve mentioned here. Love the Overlander.
Thanks for watching Alfie!
Ordered mine today! Thanks for the review and video
Hope you like the razor!
How much is it

Yes, there's a little bit of drag for me too. There's always the option of polishing the razor, that should help it a bit!
I don't use any other razors anymore after having the overlander. Its the best de razor EVER made!

What Karve CB plate do you think feels the closest to the Overlander for efficiency? Thanks
Approximately the blade feel of the B plate with the efficiency of the D plate
Nice review Brother! Really enjoying the Overlander, seems to pair well with all Gillette blades I've tried so far. Cheers
Thanks for watching and glad to hear you're also enjoying the Overlander!
Enjoy your channel very much ! How does this compare to the Rockwell 6 c or the Pearl Flexi ?
While I haven't used the Pearl Flexi, I would compare the feel of the Overlander to the 4 or 5 plate of the Rockwell, but with better efficiency.
I like the Overlander. It reminds me of the Paradigm Diamondback.
PSA: brass can have led. My understanding is that Karve doesn't treat their brass to have less led.
2% Lead
Is your KB polished ? And if so, where can I also this done ?
Yes, I polished my Christopher Bradley with some Flitz polish and a lint free rag.
How does the razor compare to the Rockwell 6s?
Honestly, both are great razors!

I found this razor had too much drag. Otherwise was great but ended up selling it
