Shaft drive lasts alot longer. Belt drive replacement is very expensive on the Bergman. Good call Suzuki for re-engineering the drive train.
Should emphasize it is shaft driven. That puts the Burgman ahead of chain driven scooters.

@Justmy4cents so u bought a 2024 burgman 400 slim down size, because the older one is wider and not as sleak, mine is silver a 2023 and the burgmans are famous for the longer leg room!!

Lol!! No, I wanted a 650 but found out Suzuki no longer carries that model. I purchased a new 2004 Burgman 20 years ago, but I had a nasty spill. My first son/child was born months earlier, and my wife ended my motorcycling career. Had less than 1500 miles on the scooter when it happened. Have not had a chance to put many miles on the 400 because of the weather.
