    Great video! Thanks for this! I will be purchasing one of these attachments and blades for a small job that has paint on their tile-like concrete indoor patio. Any tips with using this on even surface? I see you’re using the Matabo shop vac! One of the best!

    This is great, I thank you for your video! Mask or no mask, it‘s basically up to you. You‘ve got the vacuum sucking a lot of it up. The description in the link that you have provided says that it reduces the dust a lot. Thank you!

    If it’s the one of the best tools you have used, can you share the following:
    1) brand and size of grinder
    2) brand and size of diamond cup
    Thanks.

    What did you use to sand off the paint? The part you are demonstrating is for controlling the dust, right? I’m using Citristripper to help get the paint off but it takes so much! Which attachment woul grind and eliminate the rest of the paint left over 🤷‍♀️thank you!

    Good job. Would renting a bigger unit with a diamond blade and vacuum be better to do a whole garage floor? Thanks

      I just want to say that you should really really think twice about doing this.
      I used this method with a grinder and diamond wheel for my entire garage, to cut costs.
      I was careful, but the finished floor did not come out evenly. There are high in low spots, and deep swirl marks all over. This was only visible after I put a fresh coat of stain on.
      It's unavoidable, it will not come out evenly because the grinder does not have enough stability and you cannot guarantee even pressure along the way.
      So no, in my opinion, DON'T DO IT unless you want to be disappointed and waste lots of time and money.
      Rent the grinder machine with the diamond wheel, that will remove the paint and give you a nicer even and smooth finish.
      This grinder wheel method is a hack job, should only be used for smaller jobs.

    Hoping someone can answer my question - if i have a concrete floor that was already painted (by previous owners), and I want to paint it a different color - do I need to remove the current paint, re-prep, prime, and re-paint? Or can I just clean the floor, prime and paint?

    • @markfs
      @markfs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try and scratch the old paint off with something smart. If it comes off easily, you need to remove it. Otherwise, clean it thoroughly and repaint.... thats what i would do.

    • @MetalAsFork
      @MetalAsFork 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Light pressure, and don't leave it grinding in a spot for long. Probably going to use some kind of floor levelling epoxy or sealant afterwards anyway, so not a huge deal if it isn't perfectly smooth/level.

    • @heidis8713
      @heidis8713 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those vacuum-attached tools are VERY efficient at removing dust. Like 95% or better. Also, wet sanding is a good way to keep dust down.

    Hi there, I have a question but it's not related to this video. I saw a video you were repairing iMac screens so I thought I should ask you about this problem I'm having with my iMac. My 2010 27" iMac screen overheats...I mean it really really overheats (especially top left backside) Basically, I unhood the entire screen and using it with an external monitor. I'm just wondering if you have any idea what is causing the back of the screen to overheat? thank you in advance.

    This is the worst way to remove paint from concrete, sorry but I don't see any progress. there are better way for example: using stripper chemical letting dry and after remove this paint from concrete with spatula or sander, any way you need to wear mask, always you need to protege your health.

    • @westsidewil
      @westsidewil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Which video were you watching? You can obviously see the paint being removed. I’d be concerned with dust/lead dust.
