Lol the GameCube is a console I never owned but I played sonic gems collection, sonic adventure 2 battle, and sonic adventure. The boot up screen is nostalgic as heck.
i was a year old in that time so i grew up on the wii. :/ not the one with Gamecube compatibility either. though coincidentally i just purchased one of those and i cant wait for it to arrive!
"Who would think of a Tails Chao in a pre internet world?" You do realize the internet did exist in the early 2000s and there was in-fact a community like the modern internet on sites like Newgrounds, right?
as someone who plays some pc multiplayer games with controllers, it would be awesome for a functional pc version of it. As for back in the day, i can see how it would be seen as a pain.
"First there was the Donkey Konga trilogy, a series of rhythm games in the style of Guitar Hero." I don't know what Guitar Hero you played Conner, but this is more of a Taiko no Taisujin clone than anything. Also that GameCube keyboard controller reminds me of what a Nintendo Switch would look like if the screen was replaced with a keyboard.
Small correction, but it needs to be known. Crystal Chronicles and Four Swords Adventures requires all players to have a GBA and the cable link. No one gets to have the TV for themselves unless they are playing single player. The GBA screens are not only used for maps, it has your play HUD and with the former lets you access the menu without breaking the pace for everyone else. It also have a bonus objective listed that plays a part for the end of the level after you have beaten the boss.
The mic, that of which is used for Mario Party 6 and 7, as far as knowledge goes; I haven't used it that often since I got used to the alternative option of like, pressing the R button + manually selecting a command. I've gotten a good handful of Star Sprint records with that option.
The Mad Catz controller was good for little kids who didn’t have big enough hands for the regular size. I even used to hold my controller upside down to reach the buttons until I got the Mad Catz controller when I was 5.
The Wii version of Barrel Blast is the only one that was ever commercially available, though it _was_ originally planned as a GameCube game that'd use the bongos.
Also you could connect the GBA Harvest Moon with the Game Cube Harvest Moon. If you did that, new villagers would visit your town and you would get a beachhouse.
Considering the game-storage the system is infamous for, it would've been kinda cool to see an NES, SNES, or even N64 add-on. Something like the Game Boy Player, but for original Nintendo home-console cartridges. I think it would've helped with competing against the PS2 a _little_ bit, considering it was the only console of that generation that could play previous-generation home console games
Funny enough, adding the Game Boy Player onto the GameCube made it more of a cube. The GameCube by itself was just about an inch too short to be a proper cube, and the Game Boy Player added just about an inch on the bottom of it.
The keyboard controller would also be nice for games that require you to type in your name like an RPG. Though, that sounds like it would only be used a few times per game.
No Mention of Odama when talking about the microphone? Pinball and an RTS while using voice commands! It was insane! Really wish they would have brought that to the 3ds.
Yeah I own a GameCube and got a Mic remote for Mario Party 6 but the mic didn't work as well as just pressing R and selecting a voice option during the Mic minigames. Considering getting the Game Boy Advance and cables so I can play multiplayer on a few games with my younger brothers. Played some classics like Luigi's Mansion and Melee but not Sonic Adventure or Super Mario Sunshine sadly.
I may be the only one but I actually liked the GameCube Mic in Mario Party 6 and 7. I thought it was a nice new way to play minigames. I always play Mario Party 6 and 7 with the Mic turned on.
Have you ever tried to play Mario Kart with the bongos? One bongo made you accelerate and another made you brake. There was no steering option though lol
You should have mentioned how someone beat dark souls with the dk bongos. And I remember when I was 6 using the tingle tuner with a homie runnin a dungeon on the tv. It was sick at the time
I wish Nintendo did an eshop back then like Sega Channel and you could download onto a special cartridge any game data consisting of NES to N64 games or some Game Boy back then!
Did you know...that technically thanks to the GC adaptor (moreso for Switch this should work) we could actually have Switch games use the DK Bongos again!
Playing Dk Jungle Beat on the wii literally made my hands sweaty because in order to get 100% you had to collect ALOT of bananas, also the Bird section you HAVE to be careful not to touch the walls or else the bird disappears and you lose your combo
I had a GameCube link cable. Only used it once on Four Swords. I had Pokemon XD and Emerald. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to transfer my Pokemon. Mostly because I lost interest after actually getting the items to do so.
Of all the games you could have mentioned involving linking the GameCube to the Gameboy Advance, you actually brought up amazing Island? ... I love that game. :)
That ad was perfectly placed, lol. "Funny? Nothing is funnier than- *Stadia ad!*" Yeah, it is really a joke, lol.

Same. Played those games but never owned a GameCube. At least I have a ps2 tough.
Ah yes, GameCube. The nostalgic console that we would play in 2002. Those were the good times..

I’ve actually tried it with ssbu. If you use a gc adapter on the switch or Wii U, you can use the bongos to play modern smash. It’s so weird

The DK Bongos are the silliest controllers I’ve ever seen, but they function actually amazing...

When you said "Nothing is funnier than the Nintendo microphone ", the video was interrupted by a Stadia ad.
You too
I stopped the video at the perfect time in the intro and it looks like Connor is hitting himself with the bat
Damn, I'm missing the microphone, the steering wheel and the Keyboard controller.
I do have 8 controllers + 2 DK Bongos to make up for it tho.

The bongos and microphone we're fun to use 😆
There is no donkey kong barrel blast gamecube version we all have to endure the pain.
I had PSO and a keyboard but not the combined version. I loved that game. Also the GB adapter.

I loved the Gameboy Player when I had the Gamecube. I mainly used it for Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age.
How would bongos play in Smash? one bongo is a special move. another is a jump button. and a clap is a regular attack
