- Well I decided to try this reel because there was a time that I needed to use budget gear and I wanted to see what is available now. I just retired my budget Shakespeare Excursion reel that lasted me almost 20 years and caught more bass than any other reel I have. So yeh I have a spot in my rotation for economical gear.
I will say this reel is a winner so far and I really hope that it makes it to the fall review. After a while I forgot it was a reel that was purchased on Temu, and it caught the fish and got them to the boat.

What sougayliang model is the reel thanks
@@waynemoody7354 I looked at the.link and it doesn’t say which model. Honestly the reel looks different now too and I don’t have the box it came in. Sorry I can’t help you out.
I ordered the same reel and i saw some bad reviews about it. I hope it will be good
I grabbed 2 more based on the one outing before they disappeared. Will be getting them on the water this weekend. Thanks for watching and hope it works well for you.
@@cgolf100how were they?
@@FishingXHunting-C 2nd trip for the first reel I purchased and there is not a lot of adjustment on the drag, which isn’t all that unusual on a BC but less adjustment then my Lews crush. I did have the line get off the spool and wrap around causing a mess. I looked for a side plate release and couldn’t find one and made a bigger line mess. Finally found there is no release switch just held by magnets. Good to know for future. So basically it’s a smooth reel for now that catches fish, but the tolerances are a little loose on it. For around 15 bucks a good reel, not replacing my better stuff though. Don’t hate them though.
With inflation, so bad people will buy more cost-effective products. The top products are great, but their cost has skyrocketed.
@@markmalott6393 What I have done in years past is bought the previous generation models when the next generation is launching and gotten great deals, 50%+ off, on different trim levels of Abu Revos for example. Last couple of years though those deals have been hard to find.
no TEMU please
@@johnnynguyen2236 they are also available on Amazon. Just tried a cheap reel to see how they are nowadays.
So would you say it's worth buying 10 of these instead of buying one $500 reel and a $500 rod to catch a fish that you're more than likely going to throw back
@@jerrycandelaria8845 So me personally depending on the technique I would spend max of 300 on a combo, most of mine are well less than that on sale, so no if you can afford better I would get better. If you catch my follow up video on the reel, it definitely has some quirks but is still working. They will ultimately be backup reels for me. That is me, for someone starting out on a tight budget it is much better than what I started with. Thanks for watching
