I guess they really hit us hard with the whole when your in the mafia, you either stay or die. That's the thing the games always had us killing generic enemie gangsters we hated or didn't know anything about but Tommy, oh Tommy. I hope Salierie got filled full of holes by a TOMMY gun. That's the thing Joe and Vito I knew nothing about Tommy, he was just another contract, it would of been the same for us players if he was just a old man we had to kill. I actually didn't play the first or watch someone play the first first so I didn't know the significance of him but when I got to that mission I just felt guilty, now I know why.
It’s kinda funny how some people saw vito’s death, which you can say is optional at best, they say that a protagonist from a previous game shouldn’t deserved a death like that, saying something like “nyeeh nyeuh we shouldn’t kill vito even if it is OpTiOnAl” but here, we see them whacking a protagonist to his grave, which is part of the plot btw and I find it really ironic and hypocritical how one of them is saying that.
If Vito and Joe really knew Tommy Angelo they would never ever kill him. By knowing Tommy's history Vito would get very emotional, they both went through alot and Vito too can relate to it.
No bro, they're a mob and they have rules if you ratted your mob family (just like tommy did) you'll get whacked by any other mob. So hangar13 make it pretty right there
Everybody screaming for Tommy dying but their missing the point. This is the pure peace to his life, Even after he ditched the Mob life. Tommy still knew he was on a silver platter and because of that so was his family. However he managed to see through a marriage and so did his kids which was more than enough for him. After that Vito and Joe as the grim reapers finally knocking on his doorstep pulled up and killed Tommy but somehow this made Tommy better as he died knowing all ties to the Don were cut including himself which means his family could go on safe from any harm. Tommy lived a life he didn’t deserve and he knew it.
Well sure, but this is only applicable to the remake/definition edition of the game. In the original, Tommy died scared and alone, and he realized in the end how messed up the lifestyle he chose was. His ending monologue proves that.
There is a possibility Joe is still alive. We saw he could handle himself in Chapter 9 I believe it was. There was just 3 other guys there and Joe obviously knew something was down when they didn't follow the highway.
Mafia II was my first game, in this mission i was like "There's something about this fella, looks important" Finished Mafia I Remake a few days ago and well, now i get it.
What also struck out to me was that it's crazy how Salieri's mob is still around. The way Joe describes the orders given, it doesn't sound like they're a washed up mob now and that they are still in fact very active. Interesting.
I just got this mission and how significant it is....I’m only 17 so the first mafia I played was 2 and 3 and going back and watching the gameplay from 1 and then coming back and reliving this mission it’s crazy how it all connected...mafia series all time great gangsta genre games
Wow! I played Mafia 2 before Mafia 1, and when I did this mission I felt something weird killing this old guy, like it’s something I shouldn’t do it, and then I played Mafia Definitive Edition and I understood the strange feeling, this old man was the protagonist of the first game!!! Amazing how in this Mafia II i felt something about this job without knowing that it was Tommy
Tommy did nothing wrong. What's wrong in saving yourself and your family from criminals? Actually everyone dies in mafia, good or bad. Tommy had some conscience, sparing Frank and that whore, friendship with Paulie, this conscience led to his redemption, cutting off his ties with organized crime but it also led to his death. In most important moments of his life, he really never had choice. First he joined mafia to survive and have protection (he was happy to work as taxi driver), then he had to leave it to survive once again. On the other hand Vito joined mafia because he wanted money, cars and women - call it the easy way. He kind of achieved it but had to sacrifice everything he ever held dear - his friend and family.
I agree... He never wanted to be a mob at first place... Tommy had no choice to protect himself from the Morellos... Tommy almost got killed by the Morellos and the mobs trashed Tommy's cab...
It’s kinda stupid the game doesn’t make you wear what they wore in the original game like they couldn’t make them say something like the employer wanted us to dress formally or something so I picked out these suits and make them wear what the wore in the first game
After Mafia Definitive Edition I realised what an absolute legend Tommy Angelo is for this franchise. Remake is masterpeice and IMO story is on another level compared to Mafia 2 :D
Tommy kind of knew in M1 even before the end that once he snitched, they would eventually catch up with him... Giving Vito and Joe the actual role in M2 was pretty cool...
I was so happy they added Vito and Joe to the definitive edition it gave the games a bit of continuity, but when I replayed Mafia 2 I'd forgotten about this scene then when the mission started I realised what was about to happen
Man I played Mafia 2 first last year and now I just finished Mafia definitive edition and when I saw the Red Car I immediately remembered of Mafia 2, this hits different now.
Im telling you when i played Mafia 1 when i was like 10 i cried like shit when Tommy died at the end lmao, it will always be the best mafia out of any mafia that got out, the story was briliant i hope they make a remake of it, probably not, but would make good money
I see how everyone is mad about tommy Angelo death in this game. But also mafia fans love how realistic the mafia series is. Well realistically, tommy had to die. He ratted an entire family out, broke the code. So “In reality” he’s lucky all he got was a shotgun blast and not tortured 😂
The best thing about killing Tommy in Mafia 2 and not playing or watching Mafia 1 videos is that you felt exactly as Vito would... not knowing who this guy was, just another job for you to do.

"Mr angelo?"
"no no i am charles"
"understandable have a nice day"
They had a photo of him lol

#RIP Tommy😭😭 You will always will in our heart. I love his character after playing Mafia Definitive Edition
RIP to Paulie and Tommy. Legends
@@waltersobchak4565 no rip sam he is bastard
Lol
It’s kinda funny how some people saw vito’s death, which you can say is optional at best, they say that a protagonist from a previous game shouldn’t deserved a death like that, saying something like “nyeeh nyeuh we shouldn’t kill vito even if it is OpTiOnAl” but here, we see them whacking a protagonist to his grave, which is part of the plot btw and I find it really ironic and hypocritical how one of them is saying that.
Top 10 Saddest Video Game Moments
If Vito and Joe really knew Tommy Angelo they would never ever kill him. By knowing Tommy's history Vito would get very emotional, they both went through alot and Vito too can relate to it.
RoasterBhai 2.0 vito was killed in mafia 3
@@rajanipawar7050 it's optional death not cannon.
@@rajanipawar7050 Vito's death is optional in Mafia 3
No bro, they're a mob and they have rules if you ratted your mob family (just like tommy did) you'll get whacked by any other mob. So hangar13 make it pretty right there
@@theknightxzone2003 and was it confirmed that the driver was jo?
His ending monologue proves that.
so veto was in all the mafia's and joe was only in two of them
+jack hayhurst its gotta be true
+jack hayhurst vito Will be in the 3rd aswell
veto is not a person but vito is
There is a possibility Joe is still alive. We saw he could handle himself in Chapter 9 I believe it was. There was just 3 other guys there and Joe obviously knew something was down when they didn't follow the highway.
Vito was born in 1925 in mafia 1 Vito was only 5 years old but.
Jeez, the immediate wanted level after blasting him kinda ruins the mood lol.
Once you play Mafia 1 remastered, you fall in love with Tommy.
even after almost 10 years, that game still looks increadible good.
Mafia II was my first game, in this mission i was like "There's something about this fella, looks important"
Finished Mafia I Remake a few days ago and well, now i get it.
5:21 That's where the video starts!
What also struck out to me was that it's crazy how Salieri's mob is still around. The way Joe describes the orders given, it doesn't sound like they're a washed up mob now and that they are still in fact very active. Interesting.
Oh man that graphical leap after playing mafia 1 and watching it then seeing this. 7 short years
th-cam.com/video/OKBxI0Z06w4/w-d-xo.html
here you can hear even the music was like in Mafia I for that mission
the plot execution is insane when playing the game from mafia 2 to 1
I just done Mafia I and this break my heart knowing that Vito didn’t know as me neither a long time ago.
"we're just gonna drive there, pop some guy and drive away." Dammit joey, that's not some guy, that's goddamn tommy angelo smh...
I just got this mission and how significant it is....I’m only 17 so the first mafia I played was 2 and 3 and going back and watching the gameplay from 1 and then coming back and reliving this mission it’s crazy how it all connected...mafia series all time great gangsta genre games
When I was doing this mission for the first time, my jaw literally fell down the floor.
those goosebumps tho
Coming here after Mafia Definitive edition came out. Need to rewatch this mission.
I wonder if we're gonna kill Vito in mafia 3. That'd be a surprise lol
kodymelba It looks like he is the "head of some family" so i kinda doubt we are gonna kill Vito.
Even if they do there is no way of topping the connection between 1 and 2 in both lore and emotions.
Vito will be in Mafia III as an underboss to the main character.
yes if you piss him off by not give any terority to him
Captain Obvious, actually he is not the Head but yea he is a part of a big family now
The ending of Tommy was a tragic. He deserves to life with his family until that day he know the time will come
Salieri: "He didn't have the makings of a living human being."
Tommy almost got killed by the Morellos and the mobs trashed Tommy's cab...
if only Tommy could just find new job or
But in epilogue
It’s kinda stupid the game doesn’t make you wear what they wore in the original game like they couldn’t make them say something like the employer wanted us to dress formally or something so I picked out these suits and make them wear what the wore in the first game
I think they wanted to keep that shit secretive as best as possible
After Mafia Definitive Edition I realised what an absolute legend Tommy Angelo is for this franchise. Remake is masterpeice and IMO story is on another level compared to Mafia 2 :D
Facts
he was a rat!
Wow just finished Mafia 1and the ending made me shit myself, loved Mafia 2 but never knew it was Tommy they killed , yikes !!!!
To do this properly you need Empire Classic Radio playing.
It was such a pain to watch this, after you played the first game, and started to like Tommy...
Damn, heartbroken 😢
- Mr. Angelo?
- No
- Understandable. Have a nice day
Tommy kind of knew in M1 even before the end that once he snitched, they would eventually catch up with him... Giving Vito and Joe the actual role in M2 was pretty cool...
(How it should have ended) Vito: Mr. Angelo [] Tommy: Uh no actually [] Vito: Oh, ok have a nice day
Can't wait to see this remade and remastered
I was so happy they added Vito and Joe to the definitive edition it gave the games a bit of continuity, but when I replayed Mafia 2 I'd forgotten about this scene then when the mission started I realised what was about to happen
So now you all understand who was killed? Finally!
I have good news
I literally had no idea that Mr Salieri had that big history.
Watching after ending of Definitive Edition
I see how everyone is mad about tommy Angelo death in this game. But also mafia fans love how realistic the mafia series is. Well realistically, tommy had to die. He ratted an entire family out, broke the code. So “In reality” he’s lucky all he got was a shotgun blast and not tortured 😂
Just searched this up coz I never played the original mafia didn't realise the ending scene of 1
Joe doesn't even have the right outfit, he was supposed to be wearing a mustard color suit and hat
This scene hits differently after playing the OG and remake.
jus finished mafia 1, damn, this blew my mind
"Even best pals, will come and go but family ? Family’s for ever."
