One man hustling hell of a job trying to get things happening sorry to hear about that knee hopefully u heal good work regardless keep ur helmet on 🚒🚒🇺🇸👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
This is probably the best firefighting video on TH-cam because of the comments alone. No one knocking, nobody Monday quarterbacking and only people wishing a fellow brother a good recovery on his knee. When you make a mistake and own up to it that shows the true man and the ability to overcome adversity. Strong work fellas! Hope that knee heals up good!
That was a whole lot of hustle right from the start of the video, awesome job getting it all figured out. Especially the supply line connected to the discharge, I'm guessing it was a preconnect 2 1/2" or 3" that was laid out, either way great catch. Knee injuries and issues do really suck, beside that, you did a great job on getting that hand line in service and taking in water. Good Job, No Fail from what I saw.
You’re right, was a pre connected 3” attack line that was pulled for supply, and thanks. Yes this is my first time having any knee trouble at all and I get a torn acl off the bat, but hey bring on the surgery I’m ready to have a good knee again. Thanks for the comment.
Brother with all the limitations you had you did what you could. You sir are welcome with that attitude in my Division anytime. I would take you in a heartbeat.
I hope you recover. Sorry about this incident not being the smoothest. I give you a lot of credit for posting this and excepting comments. I have a few. This looks like a volunteer Dept. due to the fact that I see you in a red helmet (officer) and you are basically trying to do everything. You were getting a supply, operating the pump and on a hand line. If I'm correct that is a tough situation to be in as well as being injured. Good job noticing your supply line was hooked into a discharge and changing it. I'm not going to be to critical because I wasnt there and dont know all the details of this incident . This fire needed manpower. As the 1st officer , if that's what you are, your initial priority should be incident command which is impossible if your doing everything you were trying to doing. I'm a career FF and have a ton of respect for rural fire dept who may not see as much fire as City Depts but have way more responsibility when you do get fire. Very dangerous trying to do everything that needs to be done on a working fire with a few guys. Be safe!
Shane Michaels outta all the comments on the few videos I have I respect this one the most! That’s for that, yes I’m a captain on this department, yes I was running around a lot, and yes we’re volunteer. No running on the fire ground. They should of taught you that in school. Especially you being a Captain. I saw no one else run around and I bet their knees are fine too. You knew you had problems with your knee, so you should of known that if you aren't careful you have the potential to become a victim instead of a rescuer. Now your crew is missing help you could of provided and now you have to seek medical attention as well. How are you an engineer and on the hose at the same scene? Just curious. Other than that great job. Seems like you have a passion towards what you do and that's the most important thing. Also, good job handling the pump.
Rafon the whole no running thing i have a problem with, running for no reason or rather running with no purpose in mind yeah dont run. Moving with purpose (running) is a different story in my opinion. Yes I agree I could have became a victim which is the only reason I wasn’t in a pack in the hot zone, I knew I was a risk and hence stayed outside (where I can make the crawl of shame out of the hose loop) with no real risk. After this I made my way back to the truck and could have made any adjustments to the pump as needed, but none were. Don’t get me wrong there’s a time when the engineer shouldn’t leave his truck for anything, this wasn’t the time, seen something that needed doing and did it till my knee gave out. I mean no disrespect in my reply, thanks for the comment, feel free to ask or make a statement, I’m open to constructive criticism.

(Here’s the gap in video) the reason the line was on the ground is because there was a concern of collapse so he was backed out and was trying to help disconnect the meter, (there’s where I picked up the line and proceeded to face plant) Do that clear it up a little?
Actually your way wrong
. He had the line charged on tank water before he even swapped intakes on the back and called for the hydrant to be charged. . Maybe go back and watch closer then try to arm chair quarterback it again
@@kartracer5g229 1:18 The line is charged. 2:15 And that charged line makes a nice lawn arrangement. It would have been of more use applying water.
What the hell ? ? ? They need to medically retire you.............
rico334 care to elaborate? What i think you’re saying is i need to be retired from the fire dept. because of a recoverable injury?
