    Will never understand why car manufacturers still think it's a good idea to make the frame of a motor vehicle, something that gets very very hot on occasion and has miniature explosions in the engine, out of *one of the most volatile, flammable metals available to the commercial market.* This was some awesome footage, also got to learn about the adjustable nozzle on a fire hose, had no idea that was a thing! Makes a cool spiral pattern on the camera, haha.

    Oh wow I knew this was a volunteer as soon as it started no training no nozzle control everybody’s running around with their head. Cut off super new fancy gear hitting it hard from the yard. I laughed when the guy asked for a hydrant wrench this is very golden let me give you a pointer if you would’ve had a good foot position, and if you were holding the hose right, you would’ve never fail yawls training officer needs to get slapped in the fucking face. This is ridiculous.

    • @kurtisyoder4423
      @kurtisyoder4423 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we’re volunteer, and we get the job done. Idk where you’re seeing “no nozzle control”. Command went defensive cause of roof collapse on an unoccupied house. I was the training officer at the time and I’d love to have all our guys know exactly where every tool on the truck is, but we don’t, we make it work. Enlighten me how am I supposed to hold the hose? And foot position, while moving? Come on over and teach me something, I’m all for learning new things, and who knows, you might learn something from a volunteer.

    is this guy the only actual firefighter in that group of people? he took it down all by himself

    • @louisesh5183
      @louisesh5183 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is his dad and an update. I am going back and showing city council a little of what our vol. do and how good they are and saw your comment. no he isn't the only actual firefighter and no he didn't take it down all by himself as we had pump operator, hose puller, ppv, tool retriever, traffic control, ect. all supporting the one position open on the nozzle. This doesn't take away from anything he did. We have a great group of firefighters here that push each other to their limits in training and it shows when you see this video. jobs are needed and taken as recognized and a team however small gets the job done. He does excel in a lot of areas like, 26.6 seconds in quick dress and 1st place in combat challenge 2 weeks ago and the guys naming his Tahoe engine 512 (his fire number) because he has went out and bought and carries, axe, halligan bar, 2.5 water can, battery rescue saw, tic, his personnel scba and not sure what else he has put into the rear. It shows an attitude that several have here and it sharpens each other. This is not taking away from what he does but showing that we need each other and how we excel when we share knowledge and passion.

    Quality work brother! I'll be showing this to my shift and every other shift I visit on OT. This is what I expect from and train my people to do. You weren't just reacting to the situation, you were taking a proactive approach and anticipating the next steps. Put it in check from the outside, hit it from the interior as soon as you made the hallway, swept the floor to clear embers, finished one room off before moving to the next, listening for hidden fire, and fogging the attic space, all while keeping in mind you were on tank water. It normally would take me 10 videos to piece together everything that was shown here. If this is how you operate on every fire, I'd take you on my crew any day.
