Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt beruhigend. Die intime und perfekt entsprechende Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den vier Virtuosen ist wahrhaft ergreifend. Die Tonqualität ist auch erstaunlich hoch als eine Aufnahme von sechsundsechzig Jahren vor. Alles ist wunderbar!
A string quartet in each which player really is equal. This gives wonderful fullness and balance to the piece. The Smetanas don't play too fast...they don't over-articulate...they don't do all the silly, modern ''isms of string playing. Simply superb thank you. I shall seek out Smetana recordings from now on. This has been a revelation.
This intensity rising from the depths of peace and serenity ... This quietness between notes ... This space between voices ... They cannot do that anymore ...
