The reason the Japanese occasionally sing in English or use English sometimes is because, over there, knowing the English language is considered smart and sophisticated. This is especially due to the fact that most Japanese struggle with the language.
Learning English dates back to as far as the 1600s and is something they consider very important.
Not only that, but English has become one of the most spoken languages in the world, mostly because it has replaced French as the language of business.

What's ironic is that there are a lot of Japanese people who feel that learning English is stupid/pointless because they feel that why do it when they will never leave the country or go anywhere where English is needed and even if a Japanese person knows a little bit of English they would hire them than a person that knows Japanese/English. What's funnier is that when I was working at conventions, the people from Japan didn't know English at all and needed translators and expressed to have Japanese ones.
The first vid of his that I watched. I was nodding my head the whole way through and thinking, "This guy is 100 percent on-point." Then I realised that's how he describes every single other game.

On the other hand, I remember i struggled a lot with a friend trying to beat the game for first time, it took us like 4 hours or so (mainly because a certain mini-boss in heatnix stage and trying to figure out how to hurt Gate). But after that, we found the game to be quite entertaining and challenging. I'll never call it the worst MMX game
Phil isn't wrong about Blaze Heatnix's stage. Those red donuts are the single most shallowly designed, lazy, artificially difficult crutch of vomit gameplay Capcom has ever conceived.
He's still ass at the game though.

@@highhaddock8925 Well, yeah. It gets tiring when it's almost seen as an ultimate truth that a game is garbage and you can make up anything about it without even understanding how it works, which is what leads to stuff like "Nightmare system is random".
I've gave up on writing comments like this because it doesn't really work and people just get mad, which might be because I write passive aggressive comments sometimes, so I instead decided to make videos about what I think of X6 and other games. If you think what I am doing is dumb you do you though, it was a waste of time to write a bunch of comments like that now that I think about it

I pass the first stage without even dying and I play this when i was a kid. I think he just don't have the brains to actually analyze the situation and charging at enemies/boss at every point, even thinking he can ride a drill machine.

Man even when i was a kid i could easily get through this game. it required a lot of trial and error but that was the major fun part to me. spending awhile trying to beat a stage or boss and feeling accomplished when i actually beat them. Phil is like what nearly 25-30 years old and couldn't do this?

I Like Megaman X6. Cuase it's so hard. Once ye beat a Hard Part of the game or beat the game.

Megaman X6 is still probably my favorite of the playstation titles. I just like how its a bit more challenge than x4 and x5 [cake walks]. I find a playthrough of X6 often takes me a bit longer to complete, as well. Are people seriously trashing on X6 because A. It wasn't Inafune's baby and B. Many people have already expressed sheer hatred of this game, whether you've played it or not you may think it's 'common knowledge' that X6 is bad.
I won't be surprised if I enjoy X6 more than Mighty No. 9 when it come's out. The music in X6 is fantasic, and although it's a rushed game it has some very fun stage design and challenging gameplay. The best part about X6 where it completely trumps it's playstation predecessors - is the fact that there's no speeder bike stage. Those stages in megaman X4 and X5 were not only bad, but consisted of an entire stage in X4. It was the bulk of a stage in X5. Both these games are already short and easy and one less good stage. X6 has some short stages but it also has the alternate route's. It's just my opinion, but I really hate the speeder bike stages.
Not trying to change anyone's mind, but it deserve's a chance if you haven't tried it before. For the time it spent in development, and lacking the support of Inafune - this game turned out incredibly well, in my eyes. Had Inafune been present maybe it would have been easier? Maybe it would have had a speeder stage? Maybe it would have been on a handheld I don't own, or Mighty No. 9? I'm just glad X6 happened, and so many people seem to wish it never existed, or pretend it doesn't.
I don't have a problem with Inafune, but I value Capcom's dev team back in the day more. The people who made X6 had some great ideas for pushing the series' boundaries without distancing itself from the core mechanics. My favorites in order of appreciation are: X1>X2>X3>X6>X5>X4>X8>X7

+Jacob Palmer I think it's kinda crazy that you actually put X6 over X5, X4, and X8. There were just a crap ton of poor and outright lazy design decisions made in X6. It's very obvious that this game had a very short dev period. As for X6 being challenging, even that's a lie. Zero is beyond broken in this game and makes it as much of a "cakewalk" as the others.
It is what it is. I'll play X6 over X4 or X5 any day, but I still like to play x1-6 all the way through chronologically. The worst parts of this entire procedure is the speed bike stages in x5 and x4, they are just not what I want from an X stage. X8 has that stupid chase stage too. It's just not my thing, especially within a megaman X game. Alot of the flaws in X6 I can easily overlook, on the flipside. I didn't say this should be everyone's opinion, but that people shouldn't think it's "crazy".
X4 and X5 are missing that 8th on-foot stage, its not just that the speeder bike levels are a pain in the ass. X5 does have my favorite boss theme in the series, it's not that I have a grudge against those games. I just think it's silly to wonder how someone could possible enjoy one perfectly good game over another..
Because you overlook the laundry list of flaws in X6 but mark X4 and X5 down because of the bike levels (which aren't nearly as dumb or lazy as X6's Blaze Heatnix stage)? That's just weird to me.

Not gonna lie, this game is pretty bad and his playthrough was doomed from the very start since he was going for boss weakness order instead of going for the easier stages first.
I still wish he went through this game again just to see him go insane at X7.
It's pretty obvious that Phil is going to fail miserably at the hardest game in the X series.
In his defense, this game was designed to fuck you over as much as possible. I just recently replayed it, and boy it's not THAT bad to get around the bullshit, but sometimes it just gets to you. Overall a game only for diehard megaman x fans, its pretty fun
I never really found it hard. But I never went for all the Reploids and used the shit out of Zero, who basically wins the game for you.

As rushed as this game was (though my distaste for X6 lessened over the years), I never had _this_ much of a problem with X6 and I was around 13 when I played in on the PlayStation. I even played this game on Extreme with only X and didn't rescue Zero, yet I never struggled as much as Philly Boy here.
Ngl I did abuse the Zero invincibility glitch for the most annoying stages (and the spin naturally) but I did not have that much trouble with this game at all
I'm pretty sure that it's common knowledge that "Mega Man X6" is one of the worst Mega Man titles, and I haven't beaten the game yet myself. However, DSP makes the gameplay so much worse with his lack of observation, researching the game through the manual, walkthroughs, and other Let's Plays of the game.
Additionally, we all know how annoying Alia is in the game, but Phil made Alia sound ten times more annoying by actually reading everything she says when her dialogue boxes open up.
He really needs to do test playthroughs of games before he decides to Let's Play or Live Stream them.
That Zero fight was so painful to watch? DSP has to be trolling right?

And yeah, while I did make some of the mistakes Phil does at first, he seems to spend a lot more time dawdling, and defintely needs to use more weapons, or Zero.

I will fully admit Megaman X6 is such a freaking troll game in how bonkers some parts can get, especially if you accidentally get to High Max in the alternate stages before you're ready to handle him. That being said, Phil is absolutely awful at playing this.

I'm quite surprised that he hadn't touch Mega Man X7 or X8 yet. If he played Mega Man X7 he'll go batshit insane after the last time he played this game.
Looking back on it, Phil really dicked himself by insisting on playing the stages in weakness order. Forcing himself to play 2 of the game's most obnoxious levels back to back just to cheese some of the easier bosses.
While not a good Megaman X game, I still enjoyed this, even doing silly challenges such as Megaman X6 Xtreme Mode with only X. Its extremely brutal but exhilarating.
I started chuckling when I remembered the weakness chart. Yammark's Stage isn't hard. The Museum isn't too hard either.
Then I remembered that Ground Scaravich's weapon was good against Blaze Heatnix. Ohhh...Donut Hell is next...

Given how he did X6, I doubt he will even go far as he only did like...3 levels and read a FAQ. No instance of actually going off the weakness chart despite the fact that he could have possibly beaten several X6 stages without the FAQ (like Infinity Mijion or Shield Shelldon)
AmephEst Exactly. And several X6 stages (like the ones you mentioned) have very hard-to-miss secrets/paths. DSP is unique in the fact that he can read a FAQ and *still suck.* And watching the highlights of the other X games made me cringe and facepalm.
Watching DSP go through Ground Scaravich's level over and over again is just painful, I feel embarrassed having to admit that I even watched it

I don't think I had too much trouble with those things that made Phil ragequit. I mean, I did finish the game and all, perhaps they were a bit obnoxious, but not what I can remember though.
As much as he's bitching about the game, it gets even worse. He should be thankful he's not playing on Xtreme difficulty. Twice as many enemies who shoot twice as fast.
Incidentally, I've beaten this game with no-armor, no-upgrades, no-weapons X on Xtreme before. ... it was the worst experience I have ever encountered and I don't know why I did it. That said, the game _is_ possible without the Falcon Armor. ... until Fortress Stage 2.

To be fair the Nightmare Snakes really are bullshit. I'm just astounded that he never thought to use the giga attack to beat them, though.
If you play in Extreme Mode, you cant kill this bastard just with One giga from Falcon Armor, is just annoying... Sometimes if your luck help, you still can Kill it, but the nightmare regenerate and still catch the reploid....
It's silly to expect to kill the snakes with one Giga Attack anyway. You do it to bring their health down so low that you're not sitting there fighting a war of attrition for an hour.

I don't understand why there's so much hate for this game. I get that it's technically a game that isn't supposed to, well, exist, and it does have numerous plot holes, but I actually had fun with it. Perhaps not having played the game in ages has caused me to forget whatever bad points there were?

Saving everyone in X6 was a beast though. It may be the worst X game but I did like the soundtrack.I love Blaze Heatnix's theme even if it's a remix of Iris' boss theme. Regardless, I still enjoy the X series. Basically all the Mega Man games without the spin-offs (NT Warrior and Battle Network). Nothing against the Legends but I DEFINITELY would have gotten Rockman/Mega Man Online Universe if it didn't get cancelled.

It's not the worst (lolX7) but it's a pretty steep decline from the other X PS games, which were passable at worst.
x6 is definitely the most frustrating whereas x7 is just not an x game imo and is the worst

It's usually better to get hit by the bosses/enemies weapon than get damaged by them on contact. It's basic Megaman logic, something Phil can't grasp. or logic in general.

to be honest, I don't like these types of games, where the game mechanics are the same as any other megaman 2d side scroller game. but the game is designed NOT TO accomodate the mechanics, and they call it "challenging".
the psp game prinny is a prime example of that horseshit.
prinny and prinny 2 are known for having throwing your controller at the wall difficulty. They give you 999 lives just to give you a chance. but no amount of lives will make up for trying to finally get past a difficult part only to die and have to redo it again.
Okay, I'm aware X6 is something of a black sheep among the MMX series, but I still have a hard time taking his complaints seriously, even the legit ones; it all sounds like his usual shtick of looking for things to complain about to try and justify his suckage at the game.
It's like The Boy Who Cried Wolf, except the boy is DSP and the wolf is game bugs, cheap enemies and bad level design...

The games, or at least DSP's experience with them. He constantly blames lag, bad design, control issues etc. (crying wolf, so to speak) when he screws up, even in some of the best games. People familiar with the games in question usually and rightfully call bullshit when that happens; hell, even some people who aren't accustomed to the games get in on it.
It gets to the point where, when he encounters a game with legitimate design issues (like this one) that cause him problems, most people's first reaction is to call bullshit on his complaints and tell him to stop bitching.
He's crying wolf as the wolf takes his sheep away, but most people in earshot have gotten sick of his lying and don't believe him or just don't give a damn.

Rage quit!
While some of his complaints were legit the majority of them were on him. As some said this game is more strict on health and using the wreaking ball strategy won't cut it here.
But still in his defense megaman x6, x7 an x8 should have never existed.
X8 was decent compared to X6 and X7 but didn't reach the standards set by previous games in the series. Tis a shame indeed.

OMG, Phil is the worst Mega Man player i have seen, he dont move out of the way when a enemy comes at him, he stand still when inside an enemy and yet he complains about the game being stupid.. Phil is so horrible at gaming its incredible... a shock he got trough the other 5 mmx games.

Wow phil really sucks bad at Mega Man X6 I beated these stages without taking Death and this is not the worst Mega man X on the Playstation 1 this game was the last good Mega man X in the series and the PS1 Mega Man X trilogy. X7 and X8 went downhill and phil thinks for one second that X6 was bad I don't think he played X7 because X7 was bad
