Went on a lunchtime cruise on the Ouse with my husband 2 years ago. Spent 4 days in York and Loved it. Unfortunately last holiday we went on together as he died of Cancer 3 months later. However seeing this video brought back some very happy memories.
So sad to hear Glennis. Seems that everyone I talk to has lost somebody to cancer. Just talking to lady a minute ago who lost her husband. What is happening?
Good morning Will its Perry from Wakefield. Thanks for a great vlog on the cruise up to Linton yesterday. Brought back great memories of where our boating started at Acaster malbis. Now on the Foss dyke at Burton waters marina wit a 42ft Sealine cruiser but had a 18ft bayliner speedboat at York. Looking forward to next episode.x

Loved it ❤️🏴☠️ I’ve camped in York .. the museum is awesome and free but you need a couple of days to see it all ❤️ I howled when you said you had a wee over the side .. I wish I could 😂😂🤭
Hello Mrs. When you got to go. I still stand there for ten minutes trying to wee because it's not natural all the while scanning the area for people and trying to steer. It takes me ages to wee on the Loo because I'm getting old nevermind over the side. Ha ha I go back to York for a longer visit.. I nearly killed Tiller man and bent my tiller arm. Long story..Argh..This canal..

York is so lovely. We do our Christmas shopping there every year, only because the have fantastic Christmas weekends through December. Take care

The area around York minster used to be called Liberties and it was a lot smaller then and the king at the time claimed it for himself to make it bigger and thats where the saying "Taking Liberties" comes from.
Theres a hidden Crypt below the minster that was discovered years ago and you used to be able to go down into it, i visited it with my brother a few years ago but i'm not sure if they still allow visitors, its an absolute eye opener of a place.
I was born in York and go back there often. I'm must be boring ya now so i'm off 🙄

yorks a great place to visit , lots of old architechture everywhere , & love the railway museum , that pub called the lowther is where the webcam is , i remember seeing york in flood & a canoeist went past the pub , & water was coming Out of the brickwork .

Thanks for your admission about relieving oneself over the side. I was cruising up the Trent today, had no option but to-do the same, 3hrs between Cromwell and Torksey. So I don't feel a bad about it now :)

Yeah it's a big old river in places and the locks are massive and deep. I go back to York for a much longer look Lee. I had to get up river for a booking. I bet you loved your boat ride and going down memory lane...Cheers buddy.

Lovely place, York. Just a tour of the Minster has enough in it for hours, some pretty unexpected carvings and reliefs and such. Nice cruise.

Did the trip you're on right up to Ripon in our 60ft narrowboat a few years ago it was tricky after York with 60ft had to come out of backwards, looking forward to your experience, take care Alan

Thanks for a great vlog Will. Brought back a lot of memories. I have had many cruisers on the Ouse and moorings at Acaster Malbis, Linton On Ouse and Ripon. Ranged from a 19ft up to 37 ft flybridge and boats in between. Great memories. You were lucky it was so quiet in York, go on a weekend and you'd be lucky to find a mooring! x

River Cruisers and Narrowboats to me are black and white. I dislke river cruisers and if given one, I'd sell it the following day. They're pretentious and deserve the name yogurt pots. Narrowboats are it - good honest craft.
Ha ha my first boat was a yogurt pot. I punctured the hull really easily. They can be pretty fragile. Cheers
