They don’t have the guiding hand of neither mom nor dad to make good decisions. Very sad. Only to then murder a father of three girls and take away their only living parent as well. Fooked up.
So true but when you say this society does not want to believe this. People assume you should know who is good and who is bad for you. It's not that easy somethings are to be taught at home. Believe me I know what it's like to not be guided by my parents.
The word "choose" fits for that specific case but not for "many women". Are you that kind of person that thinks bad people have the "bad" word writed on them? It is not a matter of your parents guiding you or not. Everyone can meet vicious people not knowing who they realy are in the first place.

Classic case of an older man manipulating a young girl to not only be with him but do as he says. Shame and sadly it still happens even today. All these years.
He already had a rap sheet a mile long. He seemed happy enough to defend her until he realized she had gone to the police. The fact that she opened up to another man without any prompting suggests that she couldn't carry it in her conscience. Very unfortunate, and an innocent man killed for nothing.
Yes, for everyone who thinks that she was cold and calculating... she opened up to someone at the first opportunity. And then did the right thing by turning herself in.
Great story and narration! I listened to your Guy George’s video recently, and quite surprised how well the justice system functioned in France in the 1870s to how poorly they handled George’s over 100 years later, found that interesting and curious. 🤔
Gabrielle showed signs of being cold, calculating and had no signs of remorse during the trial. The only thing that she even worried about during the trial was to present herself in a fashionable manner, (I’m guessing this wasn’t just a simple professional fashion, but a high class fashion (to show off) something that we have seen in recent years with female killers), her newly found “fame” or rather infamy, with this being the type of behavior commonly seen in those who are diagnosed with Antisocial personality disorders, among other things, I believe that she was definitely the mastermind behind the murder and should have met the same fate as Michelle, but this is the kind of investigation that has 4 sides, her side, his side, the side in which we speculate about it and the truth, and we will never get the truth, so we will forever enjoy the investigation and the speculation. Another excellent video as always 🌸🖤🌸, definitely enjoyable considering current events and cabin fever making me feel like I’m going crazy, funny thing is I’m agoraphobic and this quarantine is still making me feel on edge lol.
@nvsbl2 Have you ever stopped for a moment to think about the potential that more than likely those who keep throwing hissy fits over wearing masks in public are the ones being used by media and other political parties to control people. You are the one who is blind to what is happening right in front of you. As more and more idiots scream about their so called constitutional rights being violated, simply because they are being asked to wear a medical mask, they are giving more and more power to “big brother” to monitor people, control disorder and eventually outlaw the covering or hiding of one’s identity while in public. Right now we can do this, in the future with the way people like you are going about everything, regardless of whether or not there is a pandemic, I doubt that we will have the ability to have any anonymity while in public and the sad thing is you and so many more people in ‘Merica are such gullible dummies who spread hatred and stupidity faster than you have spread the damn pandemic. Btw, I like using commas, and I don’t care. At least I use a mask while in public to help protect others and myself because I’m not a selfish douche, and I don’t go around telling people how to think, or type either, because I’m not an inconsiderate arsehole, and I understand that everyone is different and sometimes people have been through hell and are truly lucky if they can put together a coherent sentence. But I try to be a decent human being unlike so many other people in this hateful world, but I’m sure you don’t know anything about kindness or decency do you.
@@KarlaHolland in regards to what, my response to someone who removed their comment that was berating me for how I typed out my original comment and how I was somehow a COVID sheep🐑, how said commenter got that from my original comment I’ll never know, all I mentioned was going stir crazy over quarantine.
@@misslissy7795 cold, calculating and no remorse are NOT behaviours commonly found in people with anti social behaviour disorder. Please research mental health disorders correctly and in depth before labelling a disorder with characteristics not associated as common behaviours or traits with a disorder. Thanks
I read about this case in one of Colin Wilson's books. Gabrielle Bompard told the police that she thought it would be a great joke if she lured a simple bourgeois into her hotel room and then left him with a trunk containing Gouffe's remains. "Wouldn't that be hilarious?" she laughed. No, I don't feel sorry for her at all.
Wow! No decency or empathy at all. I was just saying that unless she was born this way, her father left no respectable legacy in his wake. Raising crap cancels out pretty much anything else you could contribute to society. Then again, I recall that having a constantly ill parent who does not or cannot give the child the appropriate attention and interaction they need, can also numb the emotions in children. Perhaps, this was the case here. We do not know her childhood or her parents, but people with means often chose harsh treatment of what they saw as problematic existence or behaviour and sent the problem off to be addressed by someone else, exacerbating the issue. Still today, this is often the way, when all that is often needed is some loving and attentive, thoughtful, recognizable-for-caring, considerate, respectful, firm and fair guidance. But the early attachment years are the most important.
Especially considering how limited things like forensic technology were, and there was no video surveillance. It would have been a lot easier to get away with things like murder in those days, especially when the culprit is able to take off and leave the continent.
Cool stories that most have forgotten.
Thanks

*Just My Opinion*, but this is what baffles me about TH-cam.. You(Brief Case), puts so much time, effort, & love into your videos, which, BTW, is Very much appreciated,Esp in these tough times.. But yet, you should have Way more subscribers & views..So, please keep up the Amazing & Brilliant work that you do!..Thank You So Very Much, from the Bottom of My ♥..

You said it all perfectly ty!!

This just came up on my feed. Subscribed . Fascinating story
I agree!!! I found this channel by chance. It was a suggestion. A very great suggestion. Much appreciated
Ty for another excellent upload ♥️ the effort you put into them is evident...
Thanks, BC, you're helping me stay sane every Monday morning! Cheers! Hope everyone out there is doing well! 😃
I love the pictures you get for your videos! It's so haunting! 🖤
Thanks
Thanks for sharing this historical case-they’re my favorite to listen to.
I am really enjoying listening to these true crime stories you bring the characters to life! Excellent narration👍🏻
Thankyou
Whoop whoop !!!!!A new Brief Case story!!!! Always good shit!!!Stay safe from Charleston,WV....U.S.A.😷💝😷💙😷
I didn’t know these stories were sh..!!! 😂
I’m glad you used the word “good” beforehand. I guess that makes it somewhat better..😂😂
You too! Newcomerstown Ohio

This channel provides a far different perspective on society since we think that crime was invented in the 20th century but as we learn, thieves, con artists, and murders existed in all societies and centuries.
Fascinating how thorough and determined the authorities were in pursuit of the two criminals - really impressive considering the times
Thanks for all the work you put into these videos, The historical details and the photographs add so much light and interest to the stories.
Great history story, I can't even imagine living in those times, it must have been very difficult for women.
She was described growing up as a "lion."
Still is.
Woohoo! Another new Brief Case, to help make sheltering in place so much more bearable! Thanks again for helping preserve my sanity by staving off boredom!
A common theme in these unfortunate cases; people of both genders unable to have healthy relationships
yes and all too damn lazy to go to work evidently.....
Kathy Hussey 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks B C for another interesting obscure tale. For the late 19th century the French police carried out an expansive & thorough investigation affording the luckless victim a degree of justice. A case involving France, England, Canada & the US In them days without more modern communications & technology being cleared up so effectively is nothing short of excellence in detective work so Bravo for the Gendarmerie!! Tucson A Gaston Goff RIP
Made my Monday morning much appreciated in this scary time 👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 leeds uk
Love your storys always interesting, very well told
Thanks
A very interesting case, the guilty party did not plan too well though. No mention is made of the three daughters of the deceased. Thanks brief case.
I remember that this was the first video of yours that I’ve ever found and watched, and now I’m a satisfied subscriber.
Thankyou
That wasn't particularly disturbing and horrifying as crimes go; just me?
No, not just you. I've thought that myself about certain videos lately.
I was going to leave the same comment. Nothing about this was particularly disturbing and definitely not horrifying. Seemed like straight up murder for money. Sadly I find many of this channel's titles to be over the top verging on click bait. Thing is, he doesn't need to do this because the content of the videos is interesting on its own. It could just be called The Case of Gabrielle Bompard and that would be fine!
@@Attabasca yes good fair point - I would still watch with such title ..
Might be better if he didn't read out loud like a little kid!!
@@amethyst1826 no one is forcing you to watch...
i just discovered your channel. i am enjoying a lot listening to your storytelling. 👍🏽
Thankyou so much :)
Good morning 🌞 and thank-you BC for the upload 😁👍. Happy Monday 😏?

Thank you, Mr. BC for always delivering fantastic videos! This case was riveting! You put so much time and effort into each video! Bravo!! Wonderful job, per usual 🌟
Wishing you, yours and all safety, good health and a comfortable place to stay during lockdown. Much love from Chicago ✌️💙✨
Thank you so much :)
@@BriefCaseOfficial thank you and The Crime Reel for continuing to make videos during this hectic, dark and uncertain times. It truly helps to escape and listen to your videos. Thank you!

Well moral of his story dont put your head in a noose with someone you have just met. In fact dont do it in general🙄
Thank you BC as always for another look into the past. Look forward to more.
Classic case of an older man manipulating a young girl to not only be with him but do as he says. Shame and sadly it still happens even today. All these years.
These types of things will keep happening till the end of time . great stories . thank you
He already had a rap sheet a mile long.
JoRiver11 she’s a good person.
First of all; I soooo enjoy these stories. The voice is very soothing and clear. What a pleasure.
Hello from beautiful and warm Western Australia. Winter at 25oC, I am counting my blessings. ❤️
Hardly "winter" then is it!
Howdy
Great story and narration! I listened to your Guy George’s video recently, and quite surprised how well the justice system functioned in France in the 1870s to how poorly they handled George’s over 100 years later, found that interesting and curious. 🤔
after hearing you for weeks on end I'd love to put a face to you're voice amazing stories
Very intense story! You know how to keep the suspense going..throughly enjoyed listening to your narration...as usual.
Thankyou so much :)

@@misslissy7795 What's your damage?
@@KarlaHolland in regards to what, my response to someone who removed their comment that was berating me for how I typed out my original comment and how I was somehow a COVID sheep🐑, how said commenter got that from my original comment I’ll never know, all I mentioned was going stir crazy over quarantine.
@@misslissy7795 cold, calculating and no remorse are NOT behaviours commonly found in people with anti social behaviour disorder. Really well presented like a master story-teller.
Thankyou so much :)
I’m always amazed how many murders were solved back then with the limited knowledge they had. They seem to do better then today
One of the best stories yet. Thank you.
Thanks for watching
Ur spoiling us thanks
This is the third video i have watched this evening. You got a subscription out of me.
Thankyou so much :)
Please make more I’m finding your videos very grounding at the minute Thankyou for all your hard work 👏
Thank you, I will
Wow, this video should be titled:
Commisioner Goran, cop of the century.
Especially considering how limited things like forensic technology were, and there was no video surveillance. It would have been a lot easier to get away with things like murder in those days, especially when the culprit is able to take off and leave the continent.
