    Amazing how things have taken off in the Exumas the last few years. We tied up at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club in November of 2010, and there was only one other boat tied up there the whole week we were there. The pigs didn't even have any sheds or feed troughs back then. It was just them and the beach. Some days, we were the only people sitting in the bar having drinks. The next time we were there, in 2016, it was like a different place. We couldn't even get a slip there it was so full.

      Wow. Really?! I was sad that I didn't really get to see the pigs, (I know they are messy - I used to raise them) :) I can imagine it being less crowded back then - who knew they were there? It's so far away and secluded. Beautiful.

      @@BoatingJourney , a funny story. We grew up on a farm. We were anchored at Big Major Spot in 2016 and my brother and his wife flew in to stay with us for a week. On the boat he was asking about the pigs, clearly visible and all the tourist, and why they were so popular. I told him, "They are swimming pigs." He asked, "Don't all pigs swim"" I was like, "Yeah, I guess so."

    Question....what is the correct rule for shoes on board.. and if shoes are good what kind of souls?...both from marking the flooring and deck as well as traction for stairs and walking around the side decks....thanks

      Great question. For boats that are for sale, no shoes is preferred. Some people can wear boat shoes, but some flooring like synthetic teak doesn't do well. Typically white rubber soles are best. When we owned our last boat, we made shoes optional. However, if you are a boater, they really do not recommend you ever wear flip flops - they are one of the biggest hazards, as your feet can get tangled or they can slip off, causing major injuries. Thanks for watching!

      Hi Glenn and Wendy - that sounds like a wonderful retirement! We never made it to BC - check with MV Freedom or Sailing White Spot Pirate - they have. Our favorite liveaboard was the 51' Navigator Sundance. Really sad we didn't buy it. Also check out our videos on the 50' Ponderosa and the Vista. Both great set ups!

    Why are you not staying on the Yacht?

    • @BoatingJourney
      @BoatingJourney  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I wasn't that clear when we posted the video. The yacht was "on display" for our customers and we had 8 staff members that it was transporting from island to island. So only the captain stayed on the boat. This way, we could show the boat to our customers who joined us on the trip - it was for sale. Thanks for watching!
