Another beautiful tribute Jerry. I saw Todd's interview about the book he wrote and it was so sweet how he said it was okay that his mom went to be with Carrie because he knew she needed Debbie more than he did. That Carrie had always had a problem of being lonely and scared in the world but he was secure & able to be alone. His mother understood this. She didn't want Carrie to be afraid or alone so she went on ahead to be with Carrie. He said it was okay he wasn't hurt. I thought what an amazing young man how he could accept that his mother believed in him so much she could leave him, to go permanently from his life till death brought them together again so the weakest child wouldn't be alone. I guess Debbie had figured out what was really wrong with Carrie all those years that caused the alcohol & drug addiction. There's always a reason psychologically behind it, you just have to figure out why. Once you find that out, you're able fight it, to hopefully prevent the problem by taking precautionary steps against having those feelings overwhelm you again. I guess Debbie didn't want Carrie to be overwhelmed again.

A friend and I once had front-row seats at Debbie's show which was very enjoyable. Such a huge star and a down-to-earth personable person. At the show end , she was holding a bouquet of roses close to the stage front , I had one of her first books and walked up to the stage held it open , pen in hand, and asked if I could have her autograph please. Holding a bouquet of roses, she leaned over and scribbled her name inside the front cover, it being barely legible because of the circumstances but a wonderful keepsake..
So many people watch the marvelous performances, wild shenanigans, and shining talents of certain performers -- and Debbie Reynolds is one of the finest. Those same people never realize that all he glamor is a facade, and behind it, those who take part are just people. I absolutely loved Debbie Reynold and I read everything about her followed her life as one would a "favorite movie actress life". Her life was hard but it is amazing how she came back stronger after every heartache. I remember so well that I did not like her selection of husbands, but Debbie was in love and as they say "love is blind". She was beautiful, talented, witty, lovely sweet voice and an amazing smile. Very touching. I think most people my age (31) were big Carrie Fisher fans because they loved Star Wars but I never got into it. Who I did love was Debbie Reynolds who I knew through her older movies, her modern movies & of course “Halloweentown”. My favorite Debbie performance is a comedy movie called “Mother” from 1996 co-starting Albert Brooks. It’s HILARIOUS! A newly divorced adult son & writer moves in with his neurotic, cooky mother. He teaches her to enjoy life more. It’s basically mother & son getting to know & respect each other as adults. Its heartwarming & funny. I’m sure Billie Lourd will have a career her mother Carrie & grandmother Debbie would be proud of. I was sad to see either of them go but at least they’re together now. 💚

well, Eddie had five wives and it seems the last one was the charm. He never quit looking for that perfect woman. He had a long life and he had a relationship with his kids. I think he did OK. Leaving Debbie for Liz was very tacky and low, but some men cannot control their urges. Elizabeth Taylor was a dream. He said she was the love of his life. Served him right, she dumped him for Burton. Ha ! his life was busy and complicated but he kept on marrying again and again.......He needed support !

How could we ever have fallen for this nonsense? Someone on this plane(t?) had the most brilliant, scathing idea in the history of mankind - to appeal to our egotistical belief that we are all guilty and deserve punishment, that we are something other than who we truly are ... and CAPITALIZED upon it. There were also a few tyrants in history who also thought some people Deserved some kind of torture or death ... All the ays from the Church to the Nazis and to George Bush. Are you placing yourself in their category be deciding that someone DESERVES some kind of punishment? Are you placing yourself above the creator of all things who has the ultimate decision? I was very Blessed to Have had Mary Frances (Debbie) Reynold's become My "Aunt Debbie" after my Father passed away in 1969. Losing Both Her and Carrie in December was Devastating To Me. I was very touched by Jerry Skinner's very accurate account of My Aunt's life. There are some "typo's" lol but this Tribute was a Wonderful "Trip Down Memory Lane" For me. Some of the Personal pictures used I haven't seen in many many years. I had a very special place in my Heart for Debbie's Dad, My Buddy Ray or Grandpa. He always made me feel very Loved as did Debbie. Not so much Maxine when I was a child, but when I was older we had a nice friendship. I Never knew Eddie because Todd and Carrie did not have a Real Relationship with him until her daughter Billie was born. I was pretty much "out of the picture" at that point. My Aunt Debbie was born on April Fools Day and Unfortunately she was very foolish in her choice in men. However, Deb was "Nobody's Fool". She was one of the MOST LOVING & GIVING People EVER To Grace This EARTH. Her Kindness Towards Other's, as Is Too often the case was Mistaken For Weakness By Weak and Spineless People. I had to leave it a few days before watching this, because I know how moving your shows are. This was way beyond touching, and your shows are so well crafted, that I can imagine this is the most fitting tribute on the planet. I had to sit in silence for a while afterwards, and still a bit in shock. I had a chance to see These Old Broads last year, and I'm glad the Golden Era Golden Girls made up and made friends.

I haven’t even watched the video yet, just wanted to start out saying my mom, who loved Debbie Reynolds, used to let me stay up cuddled on the couch next to her to watch movies on a late movie channel. I saw several movies with Debbie and fell in love with her too. Mom would tell me stories from Debbie’s life. I lost my mom 4 years ago this last July to a rare cancer. There is a 100% chance I will cry while watching this. Well I was right, I cried. This brought back wonderful memories...bitter sweet for me. Very nice Jerry. Thank you.

I was lucky enough to have the honer of meeting Debbie on the TCM cruise. Boy what a friendly person she was. such a star yet so kind. She said hello to me and the gal I was with. She would pass away just a few years later. God bless you and thanks for everything.

I never knew much about Debbie Reynolds until I saw the movie “Singing in The Rain”. It became one of my all time favorite movies. Many years ago I was in my local Walmart when I heard a song playing over the store intercom, the song was “It’s a Miracle” or something like that. I loved the song and couldn’t get it out of my head. When I got home I telephoned the store to ask what the song was. They told me it was a personal tape of a guy who worked in the shoe department. I talked to the guy in the shoe department and he told me the song was sung by Debbie Reynolds and was from the album The Singing Nun and I bought the album and still love the song and the album. It’s really ironic because before I saw the movie “Singing in The Rain”. I always thought that I didn’t like musicals.

Debbie Reynolds was among the 'Best of the Best' and will still be remembered two centuries from now. I distinctly remember the news report of her passing, just after the death of Carrie. It was heartbreaking.
One of the loveliest person I ever seen in the movies. I loved her so much, I begged my Mom to name my baby sister Tammy. She was one of the most determined hard working women I ever saw. She tried so hard to please those idiot husbands of hers and every time they would do her wrong. Thank you Jerry it's always a pleasure to listen to your stories, you do them so well. My father passed away at the age of 97 on the 24th of December, one day after Carrie was stricken ill. I can never forget. He and my mother were movie buffs and big fans of Debbie.
Debbies life was tragic, too trusting of terrible men, I don’t see where Carries life was tragic, she was a drug addict, her choice, which was another tragedy for Debbie
Such a well done, truly moving tribute. Debbie and Carrie both brought as much joy to my life as all other actresses combined. I grew up watching many of Debbie’s reruns, The Unsinkable Molly Brown one of my all time favorites, and later on my children’s... the original VHS I bought for them has made several moves with me and I doubt I’ll ever part with it even though the cassette is obsolete. There was something very special about her. People who have sweet spirits like she did often get blindsided by manipulators because their minds just don’t go there - they can’t imagine people acting so despicably. She really was a remarkable woman. Eddie was right about one thing - Elizabeth Taylor sure didn’t deserve to be treated any better than he was treated. Women who cheat are just as bad, worse if it’s with their best friend’s husband. Men can’t cheat if there aren’t willing women. Carrie’s Postcards from the Edge was brilliant and no one could make me laugh like Carrie when she was filmed just being herself. I often think about Todd and hope he’s doing well. Such a unique and interesting family. Thank you for sharing this very special gift with all of us, Mr. Skinner. I really appreciate it.
You did a great job on this, Jerry. It was bad enough we lost Carrie, but I was absolutely ill the next day when I heard Debbie Reynolds had died. That was my worst fear when Carrie's death was announced - that it would cause Debbie to have a stroke. They are a great loss - Diane.
Exceptional, entertaining, and educational film....good narration. Packed so much fascinating information in less than 30 mins! Follow ups on past husbands, and Elizabeth Taylor was unexpected and added to the documentary. Excellent choice of pictures, music was unobtrusive. Covering details about her poor humble beginnings, conservative religious upbringing and how her mother reacted to her daughter’s involvement with the film industry answered some question. Debbie apparently having to sleep in her Cadillac due to her husband spending her money is shocking. Having a past experience with a narcissist makes me wonder if she wasn’t exposed to several....they are indeed charmers. (TH-cam has excellent videos on the subject by Dr. Grande and Dr. Ramani). Thank you for one of the most well done documentaries I’ve seen in a long while!

I met Debbie Reynolds in 1965. I was an elevator operator at the Detroit Sheraton Cadillac Hotel. Debbie walked into my elevator in a girl scout uniform. She was there for a Girl Scout convention. Sweet and friendly. The nicest celebrity I met . And working at the Sheraton I met many.

I have watched 3 of Jerry's videos of 3 great people. Needless to say I am a wreck now, very close to tears. You think these people have such great lives with the money, clothes, etc., they have their troubles too. This lady Debbie suffered through a lot. I admired the way in which you told the story of Debbie's life. What hardship on the formative years and resilience to get on. But what tragedies there lay in store with those rocky marriages and the heels she chose for his husbands. Not the only star to have had her fortune dissipated by worthless creeps. I did feel for her. And wanted better choices to be made in this area, but she did what she felt was right at the time. And time is a great agent for regret. I have to thank you for the story of her life that was lived to the full.

I was very Blessed to Have had Mary Frances (Debbie) Reynold's become My "Aunt Debbie" after my Father passed away in 1969. Losing Both Her and Carrie in December was Devastating To Me. I was very touched by Jerry Skinner's very accurate account of My Aunt's life. There are some "typo's" lol but this Tribute was a Wonderful "Trip Down Memory Lane" For me. Some of the Personal pictures used I haven't seen in many many years. I had a very special place in my Heart for Debbie's Dad, My Buddy Ray or Grandpa. He always made me feel very Loved as did Debbie. Not so much Maxine when I was a child, but when I was older we had a nice friendship. I Never knew Eddie because Todd and Carrie did not have a Real Relationship with him until her daughter Billie was born. I was pretty much "out of the picture" at that point. My Aunt Debbie was born on April Fools Day and Unfortunately she was very foolish in her choice in men. However, Deb was "Nobody's Fool". She was one of the MOST LOVING & GIVING People EVER To Grace This EARTH. Her Kindness Towards Other's, as Is Too often the case was Mistaken For Weakness By Weak and Spineless People. Thank You Mr. Jerry Skinner For This TREAT ! I So Appreciate It !

As a young child in elementary school going to watch, “HowThe West Was Won,” I feel in love with her and now that I am getting older, I am still in love with her.
Her great qualities always came through and Carie was so fortunate to have her.

I had to leave it a few days before watching this, because I know how moving your shows are. This was way beyond touching, and your shows are so well crafted, that I can imagine this is the most fitting tribute on the planet. I had to sit in silence for a while afterwards, and still a bit in shock. I had a chance to see These Old Broads last year, and I'm glad the Golden Era Golden Girls made up and made friends.
@LemonTubeAmiga, I heard about Debbie, and Elizabeth's friendship, the end, and of the reconciliation. I am so glad they reconciled. I may sound a little wicked, but I was more than a little glad that they had lunch together and had laughs all at Eddie Fisher's expense😈

I haven’t even watched the video yet, just wanted to start out saying my mom, who loved Debbie Reynolds, used to let me stay up cuddled on the couch next to her to watch movies on a late movie channel. I saw several movies with Debbie and fell in love with her too. Mom would tell me stories from Debbie’s life. I lost my mom 4 years ago this last July to a rare cancer. There is a 100% chance I will cry while watching this. Well I was right, I cried. This brought back wonderful memories...bitter sweet for me. Very nice Jerry. Thank you.

I was lucky enough to have the honer of meeting Debbie on the TCM cruise. Boy what a friendly person she was. such a star yet so kind. She said hello to me and the gal I was with. She would pass away just a few years later. God bless you and thanks for everything.

I never knew much about Debbie Reynolds until I saw the movie “Singing in The Rain”. It became one of my all time favorite movies. Many years ago I was in my local Walmart when I heard a song playing over the store intercom, the song was “It’s a Miracle” or something like that. I loved the song and couldn’t get it out of my head. When I got home I telephoned the store to ask what the song was. They told me it was a personal tape of a guy who worked in the shoe department. I talked to the guy in the shoe department and he told me the song was sung by Debbie Reynolds and was from the album The Singing Nun and I bought the album and still love the song and the album. It’s really ironic because before I saw the movie “Singing in The Rain”. I always thought that I didn’t like musicals.

I distinctly remember the news report of her passing, just after the death of Carrie.
It was heartbreaking.

One of the loveliest person I ever seen in the movies. I loved her so much, I begged my Mom to name my baby sister Tammy. She was one of the most determined hard working women I ever saw. She tried so hard to please those idiot husbands of hers and every time they would do her wrong. Thank you Jerry it's always a pleasure to listen to your stories, you do them so well. My father passed away at the age of 97 on the 24th of December, one day after Carrie was stricken ill. I can never forget. He and my mother were movie buffs and big fans of Debbie.
I had no idea of the tragic life of Debbie, and her daughter Carrie. May they lovingly rest in peace.

Debbies life was tragic, too trusting of terrible men, I don’t see where Carries life was tragic, she was a drug addict, her choice, which was another tragedy for Debbie
Such a well done, truly moving tribute. Debbie and Carrie both brought as much joy to my life as all other actresses combined. I grew up watching many of Debbie’s reruns, The Unsinkable Molly Brown one of my all time favorites, and later on my children’s... the original VHS I bought for them has made several moves with me and I doubt I’ll ever part with it even though the cassette is obsolete. There was something very special about her. People who have sweet spirits like she did often get blindsided by manipulators because their minds just don’t go there - they can’t imagine people acting so despicably. She really was a remarkable woman. Eddie was right about one thing - Elizabeth Taylor sure didn’t deserve to be treated any better than he was treated. Women who cheat are just as bad, worse if it’s with their best friend’s husband. Men can’t cheat if there aren’t willing women. Carrie’s Postcards from the Edge was brilliant and no one could make me laugh like Carrie when she was filmed just being herself. I often think about Todd and hope he’s doing well. Such a unique and interesting family. Thank you for sharing this very special gift with all of us, Mr. Skinner. I really appreciate it.

You did a great job on this, Jerry. It was bad enough we lost Carrie, but I was absolutely ill the next day when I heard Debbie Reynolds had died. That was my worst fear when Carrie's death was announced - that it would cause Debbie to have a stroke. They are a great loss - Diane.

Covering details about her poor humble beginnings, conservative religious upbringing and how her mother reacted to her daughter’s involvement with the film industry answered some question.
Debbie apparently having to sleep in her Cadillac due to her husband spending her money is shocking.
Having a past experience with a narcissist makes me wonder if she wasn’t exposed to several....they are indeed charmers. (TH-cam has excellent videos on the subject by Dr. Grande and Dr. Ramani).

I've only this day heard their stories in this collected timeline...Amazing and Inspirational how Carrie and Debbie overcame every set back. It is because, they individually and as family, stood back up in the face of the public everytime. God Be with their Family still here living.

I met Debbie Reynolds in 1965. I was an elevator operator at the Detroit Sheraton Cadillac Hotel. Debbie walked into my elevator in a girl scout uniform. She was there for a Girl Scout convention. Sweet and friendly. The nicest celebrity I met . And working at the Sheraton I met many.

I have watched 3 of Jerry's videos of 3 great people. Needless to say I am a wreck now, very close to tears. You think these people have such great lives with the money, clothes, etc., they have their troubles too. This lady Debbie suffered through a lot. I always loved watching and listening to her on talk shows. Incredible sense of humor, always a laugh. A beautiful, kind lady. RIP Debbie and Carrie.

I admired the way in which you told the story of Debbie's life. What hardship on the formative years and resilience to get on. But what tragedies there lay in store with those rocky marriages and the heels she chose for his husbands. Not the only star to have had her fortune dissipated by worthless creeps. I did feel for her. And wanted better choices to be made in this area, but she did what she felt was right at the time. And time is a great agent for regret. I have to thank you for the story of her life that was lived to the full.
