    WOW! I cannot tell you how glad I am I came across this video. Saved me the money of having to go and get the bow restrung at a pro shop. Nothing against pro shops, but I'm a DIY'er. Being new to archery, I committed the cardinal sin of dry firing my compound bow and yes, things went sideways. But thanks to this video, I got the bow restrung, tuned in and sighted near perfect and she's shooting true now. THANK YOU!

    It's quite genius of Sanlida to provide a limb bolt that is long enough so that you can change the string without a press!!! That's amazing. Every bow manufacturer should get on board. Good info!

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know. It's the flagship bows that are not getting in board. Many of these large adjustable range bows offer it now.

      Amazon's Pandarus brand (Specifically the L1 model) also has the limb bolts long enough to perform this fix, thankfully! Seems the two manufacturers are very similar in specs for these bows.

    While letting down, on a short bow, the string touched my knee and 'rerailed' the string. The bow was set for 29 pounds. This video comforts me, in that my poundage was so low that I probably did no harm to my brand new bow. I will, however, use a bow press to put everything back together.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do not try this on an older Hoyt. You won't be able to back the limb bolts out far enough as the Hoyt is made differently, without the long draw weight range that this bow has

    Are the cable rods on the bows supposed to flex a bit? The vanes on my arrows catch the strings when fired and occasionally affects the arrow flight....

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. Make sure the cable slide is on correctly. Also make sure your arrow rest is properly centered and is not too close to the riser. Lastly you could.alao.rotate the arrow a hair so that the fletch closest to the cables points down a tiny bit to better clear the cables

    Thank you Sean. May I suggest you do closeups for the whole period yo do specific cam work? In this video you were kind to do a closeup of the cam - after - you did the work on the first bow, and the camera was showing the whole bow during your work on the second one, thus I coild not see where exactly did you add the missing part with the holes. Again the idea is to have closeups on he camss while you work on them. Thank you very much for your videos you encourage me to buy my first compound bow.

    • @seansoutdoors

      If I make any more on the topic I'll keep that in mind. I assumed people would just look at the cam on the other side to verify which holes to use so I didn't think that was necessary. I'll try to not make assumptions like that if I do another. Thanks for watching and God bless you.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should have serving on it but not a D loop because any arrow rest can be set at a slightly different height so that needs to be tied on by the user. If there is no serving, write to them and indicate that so that they can send you one with serving.

    Hey Sean. I'm a first year Archer and have progressed super fast. I'm left handed but right eye dominant. I shoot gun left handed but prefer shooting bow right handed, lucky it's so. I'm dyslexic but in Archery it serves me well. U.S. Navy vet (aircraft maintenance) though not a man of war, I would love to shoot like the left handed mighty men spoken of in the Word. So with as much detail as possible, as that's how I learn (need to know the why and not just what), why do you prefer a brass kisser, what are the problems with other types, and how does it affect fps and vibration compared to others. I shoot an old bowtech, topped out at 63-67lbs, deadly accurate at 20 yards.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a small brass kisser because regular ones pull on my lip with tht way I anchor. It probably doesn't have much impact on bow speed either way. Having just the brass nock as a kisser may be a little faster due to less wind drag

    What's the difference between recurve compound bows vs compound bows?
    Speed, accuracy, reliability, longevity Etc.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      By recurve compound do you mean an Oneida compound? If you mean an Oneida, I personally prefer a regular compound. If you mean a regular recurve then either a recurve or compound will work well. A compound is much more powerful and easer to shoot accurately but also requires more maintenance.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can turn it until the weight comes completely off and you can remove the string. It would probably take around 13 or 14 turns to reach that. Once the draw weight gets below 10, I would suggest not shooting it.

    Nice thing about this bow is you can work on it without the need for a bow press. Didnt even realize it could unscrew far enough for you to be able to pop the string on or off till i dropped the poundage so I could insert a different peepsight. It is a freaking process though so you might wanna buy one anyways but if you're stubborn, you really won't need one.

    What happens if it slipped off of the single cam of my bow

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to put it back on and then check the cam lean to make sure it is not leaning too far. If it is you need to add and remove twist to the yokes to straighten it out a little.

    Your peep is half way around like mine is, I need to twist the cable to line it up

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd just take the string off and add or remove a half twist if it doesn't come into the right alignment at full draw. Mine does co.e into alignment.

    Where is the draw stop on this model

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flat side of the mod comes in contact with the cable which functions as a cable stop.

    why does my string pop off the cams when I'm shooting like 50 lbs ? I don't see any cam lean, and center shot and tiller is good.
