Up front: I haven't watched the video yet, but the title caught my eye because I find myself asking God this: why is He hiding from me. I've lost 4 people in 4 months (my dad, grandma, a friend, and my beloved wife, who was my best friend and the love of my life). I am in a dark pit. I feel hopeless and am in a constant state of pain, agony, and anxiety. Can only sleep about 2-3 hours. Have lost 30 pounds. Suicidal thoughts are becoming more prevalent. I cry out to the Lord but only get silence. I cry out for just a little light to come through but it remains pitch black. Now, I question my salvation. Maybe He doesn't answer because I'm not His. Please pray for me, brothers and sisters. Please Father, hear me!!

I’m going through the same thing, I just realized now.
The Sun is bright behind the clouds, the moon is full even though the darkness makes it seem as though it’s not there,
It is there, Trust in God, Trust that God will show his face to you,
      Trust in God.

I’m sorry for your losses Jason, but I do want to encourage you that God’s love for you is based solely in Christ. (Romans 5:1-8). (Romans 8:1-39).
I’ve come down with a permanent condition/disease and I haven’t questioned God’s love for me due to the Spirit’s witness to my soul recently, but I have questioned God’s providence. This condition I have could potentially kill me, I’m still young.
I wouldn’t worry about God’s love for you in terms of your salvation, unless you’re deliberately sinning, right? (Hebrews 10:26-31).
You should know Jesus intends to lose NONE out of all who were given to Him by the Father for eternal life, See: (John 6:37-40). That would include you Jason.
Seek the Holy Spirit’s witness for assurance to confirm your call & election: (Roman’s 8:15-17, 2 Peter 1:10-11). I’ve sought Him in prayer before to no avail, but He has assured me recently. So in your case Jason, if you are saved, God made an everlasting covenant with you, the Spirit is your earnest & seal for redemption, God may hide His face here & there but you should keep seeking Him.
Also in relation to the loss of your family members, again, I am sorry for your losses…. The best advice I can give biblically is reflecting off of the book of Job for understanding that God ultimately never left Job, & God never intends to leave you:
“My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure.
You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.”
      ‭‭James‬ ‭5:10-11‬

First, let me say I'm sorry for your losses. It can be so hard to say good-bye to those we love so much.
I would also suggest a way to reframe your perspective that has taught me personally so much, as well as brought me so much comfort in my times of affliction.
First, our perception of life, death, and mortality is completely different from God who is the creator, giver, and taker of all life. Because he teaches us about our eternal destiny as His children, and that all are resurrected through Christ in the end...O death, where is thy sting?...we can know that those we lose will not be lost to us forever. We can know we will be with them again one day.
Second, God loves you more than you know. He chastens those He loves. The verb to chasten means 'to purify'. In other words, God gives us trials and afflictions to purify His children. You are not lost to Him, He is in reality purifying you to be able to return to Him, and your family in Heaven, which brings me to the third thing I want to share.
Trials and afflictions of all kinds are not punishments for those seeking God. They are what God gives us to help us remember Him, and more importantly, turn to Him. The key is to turn to God, seek Him more, trust in Him and His infinite love and mercy. In this way you become more pure and holy yourself, and in so doing you will find God.
May you be blessed in your journey to your Father who is in Heaven.

      1 Cor 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

If you are saved you are already filled with the Holy Spirit. You cant be saved apart from the Holy Spirit and the Spirit is indwelling all believers. If you are not saved, repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

I love this video! It is so encouraging! I’m walking through a season right now where God has slowly turned His face away so to speak. His presence has just gradually gotten more faint, but I believe it’s to teach us exactly what was said at the end in Isaiah, to trust. To walk by faith and not by sight. I’ve had to learn the hard way that faith is more than a feeling. I would have encounters with God so much and hear His voice so clearly, yet the last few days it seems to have changed. I can see where He is still speaking, but it is more faint. It feels like a call to go deeper. At first very scary to experience, but learning trust and waiting on Him seems to be part of the many lessons I’ve been learning in this dark season. Thank you so much Pastor John for your Godly wisdom in this video. 🙏🏻

God bless you for pointing out the truths of the old hymns as they leaned wholly on the Word of God. I've been going through a dark time the past 4 months. God is with holding blessing in my life till I have truly changed and learned his wisdom. These 4 months so far have been very painful and such a struggle, I thank you so much for your talk today as it gave me hope that God is doing a great work in my heart and has not deserted me. Thank you!

I remember those days when it seemed like God had left me. I would cry and cry where, and, why, thinking I had done something wrong, and I had, lol. I had taken my eyes off Him. Around 40 years ago, Jesus visited me and warned me, but it didn't help, cause those times still happened. Those times taught me to believe what the Word of God says is true. Jesus told me it was I who was drifting away from Him, and that all I needed to do was turn around and I would see Him. He allows us to wander off down different paths, or get out in front of Him, rather than follow Him. We learn something new and think we have learned everything, or finally arrived at our destination, lol. It's a forever walk we're on, amen. I finally learned my lesson a few years ago, and now I am never alone, or "feel" like He's left me, I KNOW I'm not. I'm not going anywhere unless He tells me to come on we got this that or the other to do, amen. Where would I go? There's only One Almighty God and Father and Jesus is the Way! Hallelujah!!!

Come soon Lord. Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! New channel here, I’d appreciate any kind of support. Don’t give up! God loves you so much! So do I. The Lord bless you!

This is the way I'm feeling right now. God brought me out of a place of darkness in 2008. For years I did the will of the Father and He gave me a wife a 4 children. But for the last few years I have completely forgotten about Him. Now I sit here in the darkest place I've ever been. Feeling as though I am alone. Feeling as though I am spiritually dead. It's my fault. Ive never felt this separation so bad. Its the worst feeling in the world. Please pray for me. I truly need you, my Lord, my rock. Jesus, please don't hind your face from me. 😭

The Holy Ghost pours out his Spirit and brings the increase in the name of Jesus. The latter rain proceeds the second coming and it is what waters the seed. Without the Spirit of God no one is saved. Believe in your idea of Jesus till the end of time, it does little good. You need to accept his ambassador and representative. So when the Holy Spirit shows himself and is rejected that is the unpardonable sin. To grieve the Spirit of God is to reject life.
The anointed witness of Jesus Christ (King David) is reporting for duty.
He was a man whose tongue held no lies,
For he was the direct descendant of our father in the heavenly skies.
Born to a body of fleshy sin,
Though what laid beneath was unlike the rest of his kin.
      Jesus had the utmost grace,
Never being wavered by evils face.
He was wise beyond any years,
Performing miracles that would bring crowds to tears.
A beacon of light on top of a starless mountain,
Where words of wisdom poured out of him as if there ran a cosmic fountain.
His eyes pierced through you with a single glance,
Leaving even the most hardened individuals in quite the trance.
The Holy Spirit so ever majestically flowed inside this man,
Naturally people caught notice and became a fan.
Students began showing up from every mold,
When they heard his words their hearts were sold.
Wicked men put a price on Jesus's head,
He was wanted alive or dead.
Despite this he and his disciples continued their teachings,
Where on occasion they endured terrible beatings.
One of the twelve apostles turned to black,
      No longer having Jesus's back.
Judas Iscariot had done Satan's bidding,
And it is in hell where he now is sitting.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our shortcoming,
However don't be saddened for if you believe in him you will see him at your homecoming.
There he sits at the right hand of God's throne,
Being the voice of truth and love that we all have known.
Satan's tongue is coated in a layer of deceit,
And he tramples over promises with his feet.
He's a being who is bound by deceptions,
Whose very essence oozes with misconceptions.
He struggles to look you in your eyes,
For his gaze holds nothing but lies.
On occasion he will give you his hand,
But don't be fooled by his stand.
He seeks to corrupt your heart,
You would be wise to avoid him from the start.
Seeking quick pleasures and casting aside love,
He traverses this land with push and shove.
Now Lucifer was once not lost,
But pride blinded him at a cost.
      Disobeying God he waged war,
      Becoming detestable to the core.
Today he is the ruler of Earth,
Though for all his power he has no real worth.
However most of us have still been sold,
Giving into sin and becoming cold.
Nearly everyone is a puppet dancing on strings,
Marching to delusion for their unjust kings.
My people have given into lust,
      Becoming robots full of rust.
However you my child are the exception,
So when you meet me don't forget to mention.
That you alone have been granted the key,
And before your glory they shall all bend a knee.

You are not alone .as this happening to many Christians..but to encourage you..the just live by faith.. blessed be them that never seen but believe. Now god is not a god that should lie.. jesus said I am the way the truth and the life.. truth. Is he he said I will never forsake you. I. Will never leave you. If you confess all of your sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins no just get clean. And stay close to him. He as to commit himself to the word he as said. If god be for us who can be against us.. the thought s u av is from the pit itself. God is testing you..not for saken you.. just live for him by faith.. he says how much more will I give my holy spirit to those who ask.. not by feeling s but by faith.. god also married to the backsliding person. If you are unfaithful god remains faithful.. he who started agood work in you will see it through to completion. The cross was to costly for him to let you go. No even David could not trace him at times. An what about job . No god is there for u an your family. In this life we will have trouble. So a word for you now. When you go through the waters I will be with you. An in closing.. look at footprints.. it was there you only saw 1 set of foot prints yes he say to you but l have not abandoned you. That's where I carried you. Ill pray for you and family....

If I could help any of us I would say this
Please humble yourself and trust what he has already said in the Bible. If he said he loves you it’s true. If he said he would care for you it’s true. If he said he will keep you till the end it’s true. Trust him with all your heart. Humble yourself, don’t try and figure everything out. Believe what he has already written. Focus on that.

Christians everywhere have heard the saying “If you can’t feel God, YOU moved” or something to that effect, when scripture PLAINLY says He DOES hide Himself (Psalms 10:1, 44:24, 84:14, Isaiah 45:15). It doesn’t mean we don’t have His love, but that we don’t have a sense of His nearness or presence.
One motive God may have for this is revealed in Hosea:
“I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.” (Hosea 5:15)
I do not pretend to know the mind of God other than what is revealed, but it seems plain that God DOES sometimes hide himself for reasons that may be uncomfortable but indispensable-

I'm 47 years old and while I understand what you are trying to say, I can personally testify that God never ever turns His back on us We may turn our backs on Him, but He never turns His back on us!. Please do not twist and turn "The Word". We have a tendency to turn away from Him as we struggle to live in this world. Our Father God is ALWAYS there for us, and whenever we are lost all that we need to do is call His name. JESUS!!! Our Lord and Savior, and He will be there! Do not be deceived by false prophets. The Bible warns us of this. I ask the Heavenly Father to guide and bless anyone who reads this, in the name of Jesus. Please Lord, give us discernment in this world of misinformation and dIsinformation. Lord Jesus, please let us see through the propaganda, and the deliberate and international manipulation of Satan. I praise and I thank you, Heavenly Father and my Savior, Lord Jesus, in your name I pray. AMEN!🙏🙏🙏🙏

God never forsakes his people? He "sometimes" withdraws his sweet communion with his people? What does that make of him? Isn't that a display of self-centeredness, egoism, and an indication of megalomania? Why make it hard for people who are weak and desperate to contact him? He should be completely ignored. Let him feel being outside looking in.

Christians need to learn how to love Jesus & He will reveal Himself!
We learn in James 2:19 that even the demons believe!
Does that mean that the demons saved?
How do we know if we believe then?
In order to find out if we believe in Jesus we must believe His word is truth.
HIS word is first, not the apostles, not Paul and not your pastor or priest HIS!
We need to read the words of our Messiah and use THEM as the standard.
In that remember Jesus also said: Do """"ALL""""" that Moses said. Matthew 23:1-3
In John 5:47 Jesus says "But if you dont believe in Moses writings, how will you believe in His!
In Luke 16:31 "" If they dont listen to Moses & the prophets, they won't listen if someone rises from the dead""
Gee I wonder do you who rose from the dead that He was talking about?
It comes down to this; if you dont accept Moses writings, or the prophets, you won't accept what Jesus says.
Jesus ""never contradicted the Father therefore He never contradicted what Moses wrote.
Jesus didn't start a new religion. If He did, the pharisees would've crucified Him for that!
Remember they found no fault in Him!!!
That means when they studied the writings of Moses there wasn't any contradiction with what He said and what the Father had Moses write down.
He didn't teach a new religion He came to show us "The Way" to walk out the old one.
Don't let Jesus say to you "" Depart from me you who practice lawlessness""
Instead believe His words """ If you love me keep my commandments""""
His commands are exactly the fathers commands.
These very commands that Moses wrote!

What I think, is confusing to many is that when God removes his presence or reveals his face as Pastor John says, and it’s not because we have sinned, it feels unloving.
A human father does not do this. At least I’ve never heard of a human father, purposely removing himself from his children’s presence. I think we all feel that that would be an unloving thing to do. Why would a father do that? I don’t see human fathers removing their presence so that their children will appreciate when they are present even more. That would seem unloving.
This is where I think we need to be careful, using the metaphor of human fathers, and comparing God to a human father. He is not the same as a human father, in many many ways. And this removing his presence sometimes seems to be one of them. And for those who have had a very difficult relationship with their fathers, they often have a very difficult relationship with God their father.
I’ve watched many short videos on this topic, and almost everyone is looking for a feeling of God’s presence. They desperately want to feel something. I just read Psalm 26 and there are many psalms like it. God’s face is vailed and this is not seen in the Psalm as unloving. And the solution is not to sit there, anxious waiting for a feeling. The solution there is to seek the Lord and be resolved that God is faithful. This just seems counterintuitive when we assume that God would act like a human father.

What is not revealed here, is that Jesus Is God, and God The Holy Spirit is always
Available. Truly, God has no face I believe. Jesus has been given full authority in Heaven, and on earth. Matthew 28. John 1:1-18 tells us so much about Christ Jesus and His Deity. Jesus Is The Word Of God. Revelation 19.

funny how all of the excuses christians offer for why this god is a no-show can be shown as ridiculous excuses since this god had no problem at all showing itself per the bible.
I do enjoy when a Christian makes his god no more than an abusive father. "he
allows us to slip into darkness so that we realize how desperately dependent we
    are"

Ill put it like this. Imagine your parent was allergic to peanut butter and their child constantly covered themselves in peanut butter. They love you and you do not hold it against you in the long run however they cannot be associated with peanut butter so they go into another room until you wash it off (repent).

Good analogy, except in reality, God made human nature change, and it would be (in the analogy) like the parent giving the kid a bunch of peanut butter and persuaded them to rub it all over themselves.

@@judethree4405 that would make sense if God made the human nature considering the human nature is sin and God didn’t make us sinful we out of our own desire are sinful…..but thanks for the encouraging words ❤️

But HE said in HIS word why HE hides his face and not only hides HIS face but also turns HIS back,, stops HIS ears..
Folks... GOD'S word is always backs up by HIS action...
HE has been doing it from the beginning and HE is still doing it today..This very day...
In the beginning when creation was in action...What did HE,, GOD,, do???
    Well...HE spoke..example
HE said,, Let there be light( HIS word )
    What immediately followered ..LIGHT
    ACTUAL LIGHT
HE ALWAYS BACKS UP HIS WORD WITH ACTION...
AND IT'S FOR THAT VERY REASON IN THE INTERPRETED VERSION OF HIS WORD,, THAT WE HAVE TODAY,, THAT CONTAINS LOTS OF UNTRUTH,, WE ARE ABLE TO DISCERN,, ALTHOUGH NOT MANY ARE ABLE TO DO THAT THESE DAY,, WE ARE ABLE TO DISCERN WITH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,, WHAT'S IN THE HOLY BOOK THAT HE,, THE HOLY SPIRIT,, DID PUT THERE AND WHAT HE DID NOT PUT IN THERE...
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT CONFIRMS,, YES,, IT'S FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT..
IS FOR ONE TO TAKE NOTE OF THE ACTUAL ACTIONS THAT PLAYING OUT AROUND HIM,, IN REAL TIME,, THEN PUT THE WORD ALONGSIDE THE ACTION,, THEY MATCHES PERFECTLY..
    VOILA...IT IS FROM GOD..
IN THE CASE WHERE THE WORD IS GOING ONE WAY AND THE ACTION GOING IN ANOTHER...
FORGET ABOUT THAT...PUT THAT ONE ASIDE...
MANY A TIMES WHEN GOD SAID THAT HE TURN HIS FACE,, GIVE HIS BACK,, STOP HIS EARS...
IT WAS AT THE HEIGHT OF ISRAEL,, HIS PEOPLE,, CONSTANT MISBEHAVIOR..
HE WOULD ASK THEM TO DO THIS OR THAT AND THEY WOULD IMMEDIATELY DISOBEY,, THAT'S WHEN HE USE THOSE WORDS,, TURN HIS BACK,, STOP HIS EARS ETC...
WHEN HE IS DISCIPLINING ONE OF HIS OWN OR TESTING ONE OF HIS OWN,, AS IN THE CASE OF JOB,, THE CHILD WILL LIKEN AS HE,, GOD,, TURNED HIS BACK OR LIKEN IT AS THE DARKEST CHAPTER OF THEIR LIFE..
WE JUST NEED TAKE JOB AND ALL THE MANY GRIEVOUS THINGS THAT BEFELL HIM..
AND HE DID ATTRIBUTED THAT TIME IN HIS LIFE TO ALL THOSE ACTIONS FROM GOD..
GOD TURNING HIS BACK UPON HIM,,THAT THE DARKEST DAY OF HIS LIFE,, JOB WENT AS FAR AS SAYING,, WHY DID GOD NOT TAKE HIM IN HIS MOTHER'S WOMB RATHER TO BRING HIM OUT IN THE WORLD AND HAVE HIM GO THROUGH WHAT HE WAS GOING THROUGH
    THAT IS SERIOUS BUSINESS...
AND DID GOD TURNED HIS FACE FROM JOB,, DID GOD TURNED HIS BACK UPON JOB,, DID GOD STOPPED HIS EARS FROM HEAR JOB,, AND NOT ONLY JOB,, JOB'S THREE FRIENDS THAT CAME TO COMFORT HIM...NO...NO...
GOD WAS VERY MUCH ON TOP OF EVERYTHING,, HE HEARD PICKED UP ON IT ALL AND HE DID NOT ONLY HEAR,, HE RESPONDED BOTH TO JOB AND HIS THREE FRIENDS...
TOLD JOB TAKE IT AS A MAN..
WHERE WAS HE,, JOB,, WHEN HE CALLED THIS FORTH AND SET BOUNDARIES FOR THIS AND FOR THAT.
    WHERE WAS HE ???
GOD GIVES HIS BACK,, TURNS HIS FACE,, STOPS HIS EARS.
    WHEN PEOPLE DISOBEYS HIM...
WHEN HE IS DISCIPLINING OR TESTING..
HE VERY MUCH ATTENTIVE TO THE CRY OF HIS BELOVED...

"Why Does God Hide Himself from Christians?"
Well let's see kind Sir...(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused)
Jesus, who IS God, did something to us; that He did to NO other entity in the "Universe". And what is that? Jesus did this...
Genesis 1:26 Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
However, Jesus also created "us" to have "FREE Will". Wow! That means we can do just about anything we want to; UNLESS he rarely stops it! Now that means we can invent, create and build untold incredible things, etc; that no other creature could ever do. Like design and build; the "Golden Gate Bridge", the "Eiffel Tower" and the "Taj Mahal", etc; to name just 3.
Also...and VERY importantly; He punishes ALL of us; for EVERY sin we commit "7 fold"! But He also blesses us with untold blessings; when we do good deeds! Oh yes. Praise His Holy Name.
Leviticus 26:28 Then I will walk contrary (against) you also in fury (wrath); and I, even I, will chastise (punish in today's understanding) you seven times for your sins.
So the word "Hide" in your title kind Sir; is more like "Jesus lays back and let it happen". But Woe, Woe, Woe! For IF we sin; LOOK OUT Brethren! Remember: Jesus is a VERY loving God; but He is also a wrathful God too. And...
    A. W. Pink 1 April 1886 - 15 July 1952 (famous evangelist - and English Bible teacher in England) said, "There are more references in Scripture to the anger, fury, and wrath of God, than there are to His love and tenderness".
So did King David...Psalms 7:11 Jesus judgeth the righteous, and He is angry with the wicked every day.
This makes Jesus the quintessential "Judge" there will ever be. Praise His Holy Name. And He is Perfect in everything; whether it is blessing us or punishing us wrathfully, etc. Oh Yes! That NO human judge could EVER achieve. AMEN!
This is why there are so many "tears, sorrows, pains and deaths". And why Jesus does this on "Judgment Day" to EVERY "Born Again"...
Revelation 21:4 Jesus shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
But Woe, Woe, Woe! To the non Born Again...because the above (times 70) never stops. Sad but very true! May He have mercy on the fools that said "NO!" to Him.
Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY Yes!. But then, all others could be wrong too...
...In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
