I am so glad to see how far Kaylee has come, both in her singing and her disorder, and wish her a bright future!
I have several emotional problems which have (outside of small talk) made it often difficult for people to comprehend what I am saying or for me, them. After a lifetime of misunderstanding, I found my voice through my singing at the age of 60. I've now been singing karaoke some seven years, and when I see people smile or cry, I know that I'm finally understood!

What does happen often is people find great ways to make the aspects of living with ASD less difficult and usually this is by focusing energies on our strengths. So over time we can cope better and do better across the board. Not sure it that made sense but I know the OP only was trying to be kind, too. I understand the meanings behind both statements ♡ Take care.

Kaylee has an amazing voice, and should be really proud she has managed to overcome the anxiety that often goes along with autism and ADHD. However, autism is not something to be "conquered": ignoring it or masking can create far more problems further down the line. What is needed is reasonable adjustments to enable autistic people to live fulfilling lives.

@@murrayratzlaff3775Well done for getting your life together but you can't 'conquer' or 'cure' ADHD and Autism, however, lucky people can outgrow ADHD by age 30 (some can be lucky enough to outgrow it earlier). Most people's brains are developed by 25 but seriously ADHD brains are about 4 yrs behind in emotional/maturity/self-discipline development (IQ is way different ie those with ADHD and Autism often pass grades/texts etc). Both conditions are extremely over-diagnosed for disruptive kids. Seen them used way too often as broad brush explanations. As a shrink I have worked with says 'if kids, esp boys, were made to do at least 3 hrs of proper physical exercise a day ADHD would be a fraction of what it is today.... He said 'In the fairly recent past kids wouldn't be ferried everywhere by car (or even school bus), they would have to walk (helps decompress the mind obvs)- my biggest recommendation for all kids, not just those with ADHD is 3 hrs decent exercise a day - preferably outside and ideally some of which is to be in natural surroundings.

Just stumbled on this, been loving the Killard School version for years. So, they did the original lyrics here. As much as I love the Leonard Cohen song, I think I actually love the Killard lyrics more. That performance will never been matched, it is Heaven sent. Still, she is lovely and I'm happy for her (and for me and all of us) that she has moved forward with work like this. She is amazing! God bless!

Agreed otherwise but saying autism and ADHD are blessing is just too much. It can sometimes be if the person is extremely talented and gives hope to people, but it also makes the persons life much harder.
All of us are not as gifted as Kaylee, even though we often are smart and creative. I’m sure you mean well but please don’t say that. This is coming from a young woman who is struggling daily with ADD. It’s difficult and easily makes you feel a failure.

Not sure if Kaylee wants or aims to inspire people, but disabled/neurodivergent people don’t automatically exist to inspire non disabled people. She has a beautiful voice and I’m glad she found an outlet , but her talent shouldn’t be cheapened as inspiration porn

That is just shocking, that girl is really a star, but I did not expect Pentatonix to collaborate with her for the peformance

Kaylee DOESN'T Need Backup Singers!! Her Voice Is So Soft And Smooth It's A Joy To Hear. That CLOWN Stomping His Feet Is Such An Embarrassment, But That's Hollywood For You. (look at me, not god) I Stopped Watching!! I Found Her Original Video, Played It And Was Blessed. Thank You Kaylee For Using Your Voice To Praise GOD.
