Belize Shallow Reef Spearfishing 2021 | Hogfish Catch n Cook

In today's video we head out to a small caye a couple miles off the cost of Hopkins Belize to do some spearfishing around shallow reefs. I'm shocked, that especially the guy in the blue gloves was pulling himself along by the coral! You are never supposed to touch, step on or grab the coral. This is something only the tourists need to be told

Man, this is epic. Trying to plan my first visit to Belize with eyes on future real estate. Can you recommend an area for shore diving and spearfishing? I'm not set on ambergris or anywhere in particular. Just wanna be on the water and be able to do some good hunting from the shore!

Thanks man! If you wanna shore dive I would recommend looking to be on a caye. Shore diving from the mainland isnt nearly as good because the water is usually a bit murkier.

@@will1amkind there are 2 main cayes that have quite a lot of people living on them. Caye caulker and ambrigis caye. Ambrigis caye has some weird rules with spearfishing so I think you have to take a boat beyond the reef if you wanna dive there, they have a lot of marine reserves there which are protected.

@@will1amkind I'm not sure how it is on caye caulker tho because I've never been there. I know people spearfish there, but that's about it. There are also lots of private islands which offer rentals and stuff to stay, you'll find the best spearfishing on one of those.
