Great video! I'm no stranger to brake jobs, but I hear the rears on E60s can get tricky so I have been putting it off...which I can do no longer. I'll be rewatching next weekend as soon as my new pads and rotors arrive so I finally get the job done!
@D. & L. Thank you for the comment and feedback! I really appreciate it! Good luck with the brake change 👍🏻
Great video, as ALWAYS, thanks for the shout out, nice to be appreciated, so did you actually find plusgas was a better product than WD40 or a placebo effect ?
It's available from eurocarparts and it's pretty cheap on there as well 👍.
Just 1 thing you forgot to mention, I think your E 60 is a PRE LCI model, my 2010 LCI model has the adjuster cog for the rear handbrake at the 9 o clock position, yours is at the 6 o clock , not sure if they changed it on the LCI model or BMW wanted to have a larf and put it here, there and everywhere, another good video for you to do would be the rear handbrake shoes on this car, but have a rest for now and rest your poor wounded hand 😓😓😓
@t5jerry Thank you!! And you're very welcome ☺️ yes I definitely found it better I have just done a brake fluid flush this morning and I would have struggled without it, those bleed nipples were on there solid! I don't think they had been moved in years! The fluid was shockingly bad too. Thats next week's video. Ahhh yes that would make perfect sense! 👏👏. Well thank you once again for your support I really appreciate it!
@@TheBimmerFixer I know WD40 has the market cornered, and good luck to em, it's the go to product, a bit like I always say " hey Google" , it's also cheaper than plusgas , but it's horses for courses, WD40 has a multitude of uses, plusgas is designed for freeing off rusty seized parts, period. As for the smell, I lost my sense of smell over 20 years ago, so it smells of nothing to me, the wife says I " pen & ink " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you have to remove the brake disc? Can you just swap brake pads?
@MrAzos09 Hi, no you can change the pads without removing the discs 👍🏻
Don't quote me on this, but I believe that BMW recommends NOT to use grease or silicone on the caliper guide pins.
Those brake discs brand are cheap and nasty never again.
@@TheBimmerFixer omg oh yess e61 touring. Changed same time front and rear. Mintex on the front this eicher thing on the rear. The rear just rotted and worn away but the mintex is like new. Doing same job as u in 1hour replace rear with jurid disc and mintex pads
@mechanich oh wow! Ok thank you, definitely going to give Mintex ago next. Awesome 👍🏻
