I like the idea of Aqualian Shields, they have such good potential for a good story. Just strap one with an imperial guard, and you will see some good shit.

My advice is to have your base coat be whatever your trim is gonna be and then fill on the blue (or substitute) from there. Hardest part for me is the bands on the headcrest, no idea how people get those so neat

Modern greek is indeed quite different from ancient greek but anyone that finished high school in greek can understand the gist of it. But you are right, thats why katharevousa(pure), another version of greek was created after the original reformation of the state after the events of 1821, which is/was a lot more closer to the ancient greek except the pronunciation; however, this version is still used in a scholaristic/archaic/literary or posh setting. I am saying this having studied classical languages in depth(latin and ancient greek) as well as being a native speaker of the language.
I always tought that the Terminator armor is the best platform for a space marine to use heavy weapons: a space marine is ofter required to execute boarding actions or fight in CQC to the point that often they have to switch to melee combat, so it is pretty fair to assume that weapons too heavy (like the heavy bolter) are problematic. For example the devastators are not that good of a concept: if you want a heavt weapon in a static position you could use the imperial guards heavy weapons teams and save a lot in terms of resources needed to create a genetic super soldier. If instead you need a heavy weapon and you still need the soldier to move easilly and not be over encoumbered in CQC then the Terminator armor is perfect, because it can literally mount a heavy weapon in one arm and has a completely free hand for melee combat. In other words i'd put one/two terminator armor in every tactical marine team with the role of heavy weapons carrier and give them a plasma cannon or a multi melta or an assault cannon.
I concur. I play a custom successor chapter of Space Wolves, who always have at least one six man team of Long Fangs. The problem with them is that they need to be static, any movement, and no shots will hit. So having a unit like Terminators and Dreads using heavy weapons with no penalty is great, and allows better use of units. However most of my terminators are melee only, but I do love having long fangs, as there a cheaper alternative to heavy weapon terminator teams. Guess it depends on your needs.
Just reading the heresy books, the Custodian guards use Displacement fields to make themselves look different, they did this in looking for a spy on Terra during the heresy. And I guess they till have this as only the best for the custodi.
My love for the Custodes started when I played Horus Heresy Legions and met Arascid Nassau. His name was so badass and I liked their deck gimmicks that I wanted to grab me some Custodes minis to paint. I loved them even more after I watched TTS.

I mean the troop doesn't is just dust in an armor. (The death of the sorcerer is understandable)
Despite lookin like a demon, Fulgrim was still very recognisable, especially by his own sons. The thousands sons were so disgusted with Fulgrim and admired Rylanor's will power and strength so much that they were willing to die just to spite Fulgrim
I wonder how much of Custode's spywork is spying on the Space Marine chapters. Being 9 foot tall it would be hard for them to blend into normal society but they could perhaps easily blend into a chapter as a Pramaris marine.

Custodian Guard are like a dark soul boss, is a accurate statement I'm in a Black Crusade rpg game and our latest session was our party of Heretic Astarte's begin captured while boarding an Imperial ship. We all woke up in the Imperial Palace where we proceed to be hunted down by one Custodian Guard, who turned our apothecary into slices of flesh in his first turn. We were able to kill him only because our Night Lord of the party went into melee with him wielding a pair of lightning claws and then our strongest party member grappled the Custodian with a lucky roll. Which left him open to a attack from me who was a sorcerer with a Great Force Sword that had a spell on it making the weapon ignore armor and it allowed me to cut the head off of the Custodian. Although that victory was short lived because two more Guards showed up and bodied us.
What happens if Doom Guy in a Custodian tank class armor, he turned into a Doom Alarorian brutal death matal paladin 💀 He'll be going in a full swing into a billion swarm of heretics altogether.
I like to think that the custodians guard the Tomb of the god emperor are kind of similar to the Old Guard that guards the Tomb of the Fallen Soldier in Washington DC they both have to be extremely disciplined they're both constantly studying and perfecting their craft I know it's something that is dumb to think about but it is still interesting to think about

There are. Probably one of the most popular units right now for Custodes cause they are so good. I have about 11,000 points of Custodes and play them a lot. What they don’t have, and this goes for all the Forgeworld Custodes models, are “hero” or “character” versions for the units. No Captain for Sagittarum, Aquillon, Agamatus…so if you bring them, you get no native re rolls or bonuses unless they are parked next to a regular Shield Captain or Trajan. I have painted all my Forgeworld units with Captains in anticipation of GW correcting this oversight when our codex drops in 9th edition.

Also for the Eyes of the Emperor, older Custodes will join it so new Custodes can be made to fill the 10000. Which means there could be way more Custodes than we realize, all basically waiting for the Emperor's orders.
If I could have any 40k game made, it would totally be a Dynasty Warriors/Devil May Cry style horde fighter where you play as a Custodian; just imagine tearing through HORDES of enemies with slick combos as one of the banana boys.

The Custodes are a mixed bag of inspiration. They are definitely inspired by the Immortals of Persia, but also the Praetorian gaurd, and Royal Gaurd.
That battlefield image of the Custodes makes me terrified more of what it is they're fighting than themselves.

I'm in a Black Crusade rpg game and our latest session was our party of Heretic Astarte's begin captured while boarding an Imperial ship. We all woke up in the Imperial Palace where we proceed to be hunted down by one Custodian Guard, who turned our apothecary into slices of flesh in his first turn. We were able to kill him only because our Night Lord of the party went into melee with him wielding a pair of lightning claws and then our strongest party member grappled the Custodian with a lucky roll. Which left him open to a attack from me who was a sorcerer with a Great Force Sword that had a spell on it making the weapon ignore armor and it allowed me to cut the head off of the Custodian. Although that victory was short lived because two more Guards showed up and bodied us.
Cut off one head, two more shall take its place.

I like to think that the custodians guard the Tomb of the god emperor are kind of similar to the Old Guard that guards the Tomb of the Fallen Soldier in Washington DC they both have to be extremely disciplined they're both constantly studying and perfecting their craft I know it's something that is dumb to think about but it is still interesting to think about

There are. Probably one of the most popular units right now for Custodes cause they are so good. I have about 11,000 points of Custodes and play them a lot. What they don’t have, and this goes for all the Forgeworld Custodes models, are “hero” or “character” versions for the units. No Captain for Sagittarum, Aquillon, Agamatus…so if you bring them, you get no native re rolls or bonuses unless they are parked next to a regular Shield Captain or Trajan. I have painted all my Forgeworld units with Captains in anticipation of GW correcting this oversight when our codex drops in 9th edition.

Also for the Eyes of the Emperor, older Custodes will join it so new Custodes can be made to fill the 10000.
Which means there could be way more Custodes than we realize, all basically waiting for the Emperor's orders.

If I could have any 40k game made, it would totally be a Dynasty Warriors/Devil May Cry style horde fighter where you play as a Custodian; just imagine tearing through HORDES of enemies with slick combos as one of the banana boys.

What about a scenario where a space marine or even a custode (or a chaos warrior) would reincarnate in our real world as a regular human (with a strong body, nevertheless but in our standards) and manteining the same mind they have (including the things that they learned) in their 40k lives. How that would be? Imagine they trying to fit in our society, while being the ones who fought in the galaxy with and against things that our human minds cannot even think about. Salute from Brazil!
