The third time I watched, I was given the choice of cereals Count Chocola or Cocoa Puffs. First I chose Cocoa Puffs, which causes me to go coo coo at therapy and end up in asylum. So, I go back and choose Count Chocola and end up going to a carnival haunted house. I get attacked by a vampire and go insane.
Thanks so much for watching our video Nobody Knows! We really appreciate the kind words as we worked hard on the Bandersnatch project! Thanks again and have a great day!
By "autopilot" you mean the ending where Stephan continues taking medication? It's not an ending, it's a dead end that prompts you to try again. The first proper ending you get if you don't make any choices is the Netflix ending.
What I thought was interesting was the way this episode commented on the gaming community and society in general. Ive only plaued through this episode once and definitely plan on watching more Black Mirror after this, but the way they made the reviewer give it a 2.5 when you take your meds, because Stefan never unlocked the secret to his success, figuring out that he ultimately decides their fate. He gave it a 5 star review when he was controlled and led to the ending. It subconsciously reminded us that we like to be controlled, we need that order to stay functional, that freewill is subjective compared to our daily lives.
Thanks for watching Trollinator 5000! Great name btw! That’s a really interesting point and it feels like this episode is overloaded with mind f$#cks like that. It is a great social commentary on society, social media and our fragile and shifting views of free will. Thanks again for your well thought out response and have a great day!
Thanks for watching our video Jenn! Seriously right? He could’ve just thrown a tantrum or peed his pants or done something to make her miss that train!
Binge Rampage I guess it really wouldn’t be a Black Mirror episode if the ending was happy. But they could have made it really hard to find, like they did with picking up the picture. Good old black mirror messing with my head for weeks after I watch it🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for your response Jenn! Very good point! Aside from San Junipero we never really get a happy ending with Black Mirror. Thanks again for your comments and support and we hope your day is amazing!
Binge Rampage I think Hang the DJ and Nosedive are both hopeful, not necessarily happy, endings. When I first watched Nosedive I thought the guy she’s yelling with at the end was the same as the guy in her fantasy of that new apartment. I thought it was alluding to them calming down, talking, ending up happy without their little rating system after that. But I’ve never seen anyone make a video with that interpretation so maybe I was being a little too romantic.
Thanks for your response Jenn! That’s a good point about nosedive, leave it to black mirror to make a woman going to jail a happy ending! You’re also right about Hang the DJ since technically the main character was doing some bad stuff and he deserved it. That kind of means white bear was happy too as the woman deserved what she got. Thanks for your well thought out points and have a wonderful week!
If you go talk to the doctor first and say take the pills and get that ending, you go back and follow Colin and make him jump, next time you go talk to the doctor Stefan will be like we've talk all of this before, yes I'm talking my pills just give me my medication.
The room that they smoked in was in the same form as the cover of his gaming book, for what it's worth. The whole thing could be set up to data mine you, in order to refine mind control techniques. The ambiguity and lack of resolution of the endings points to such a desire of repeat-watching.
When you watch that old woman describe the author of Bandersnatch and his killing before it there is either a frosted flakes advert or honey monster advert
Why does everyone think the "leaving with mother" ending is a good one? because he escapes the torture of the bandersnatch trap through self-aware suicide? Hell, we even find out later that the entire mother son relationship was a fabricated implementation of trauma, that's not even his mother.
So from what I know, the only scenes I haven’t seen in the movie was when Colin claps his hands to skip for you and JFD stabbing Stefan. Anyone know how I can get to it?
The JFD scene happens if you pick the "pick the family photo" option twice in a row, I believe. The hand clapping I didn't see either and am also curious.
I found the answer to the clapping scene too. In the comment to the third video Guy says "Don't kill Colin, start the weekend section and get a restart point that leads you to before the start of the weekend (Talk to Mum for instance)." I experimented a bit with this suggestion, and I figured out that yes, this is essentially correct. The important part is to refuse talking about mom during the first playthrough, because that's the only way to keep a "checkpoint" far enough back in time after starting the weekend sequence. The other possible checkpoint that is before the weekend - "follow Collin" - inevitably leads to his death, which in turn (I assume) leads to the absence of Collin's clapping scene due to absence of, well, Collin. The restart point doesn't appear to matter though. I can't be sure about endings proper, but the dead ends "destroy computer" and "back off killing dad" both worked to initiate the "talk about mom" checkpoint in my case. Then you just watch a recap without any choices, and the clapping scene happens during it. Out of curiosity, I also tested out the rewind that follows the "talk about mom" checkpoint in case you do follow Collin. No unique footage there, just an abridged version of the same events with all choices up to "photo/book" skipped. The LSD sequence is also skipped as something that never happened.
Thanks for watching our video Jordan! What we said in the video is that the very first time, before the first deal offer is the only time Colin doesn’t remember. Anytime after you accept or refuse the deal he will in some way remember the first encounter. Thanks for your comment and have a great weekend!

Thanks so much for your response Earthplayer! In our part 3 video there’s this scene variation with some weird noises (around 5:20) we wonder if this could lead us to that scene?
