In ‘86 as a high school junior, my friend’s family invited me to see Tina Turner at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. I was not sure what to expect and a little of me was too cool for Tina. The seats ended up being front row center, and Tina absolutely killed it. It was such a good experience and I’d have to say my favorite concert ever.

And yes, this song was the End Credits song from the 1985 film "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome" (aka Mad Max 3). It was a HUGE hit for most of the late 80s. And it remains one of my all time favorite songs, and I'm a metalhead. Why is it? Because of the message told within as it relates to the movie. If you know the movie, then the song has more reverence. Most notably the Children theme. The movie is about a post apocalyptic world, right, where Max (Mel Gibson) comes across a surviving band of children from a crashed jetliner (from the nuclear war) and it becomes his job to lead them to a promised land, which happens to be Sydney, Australia. But of course, it's been devastated by the war and the water levels are non-existent. I guess a nuclear war supposedly evaporates the oceans? Idk...😂 But anyway...if you can, watch the film, if not the entire Mad Max franchise, including Fury Road (2015). (

This song came out before you were born. It is the ending song from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. It was released in 1984. She made this a part of every concert she performed from then on until she stopped touring in her late 60's. Her last concert was in 2008 at the age of 69.
Tina Turner was an icon. She performed in a CLASSY way well into her older age (unlike some stars who think they are still 22 cough cough). Tina kept it real for all of us.
I don't know if you got around to watching the Mad Max movies, but they are totally worth it. You gotta start from the beginning to get understand certain aspects of Beyond Thunderdome and why he doesn't finish something he was involved in, in a life and death match. The videos coming out then just blew our young minds....we loved the music and then all of a sudden we had a visual.
