This song is legendary on its own right , and this song was my first Nightwish song that I heard back in 2004 . Also this song can be heard in the ending credits of the 2005 film The Cave. Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bullwhip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. "Nemo" is the eighth single Of the Nightwish album Once (fifth studio album). A big-budget video was made for the song. The director was Antti Jokinen, who had previously worked with Shania Twain, Celine Dion and Eminem. The video was number one on MTV Brasil Video Chart. The song was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single. Although Nightwish already enjoyed a solid fan base in Europe and South America by the time of the single's release, it is considered their breakthrough song since it helped them reach a wider audience. Tuomas Holopainen has stated that the title is Latin for "nobody" or "no name" and the song is based on his occasional feelings of being lost, longing for the past and feeling nameless. you are right. I missed it on her solo tour very much, similar as ever dream. even i understand that she does her songs mainly. I love Floor - but Tuomas songs (with/without NW-guys) and Floor - thats the best of all - IMO. Her solo stuff is - in most cases - for me too poppy even it shows her unbelieveable vocal strength.

I also like her solo music a lot but I'd prefer if this remained a side project because it is a bit too poppy for me.

I love this performance of this song so much. I found Nightwish two years ago, thanks to reactions like this, when I first started watching reactions. It has been nothing but a joy to explore Nightwish and share that with others. I got to see them live last year and it was the best show I have ever seen. This song makes me emotional a little bit. Once Floor gives the shout out to Empuu, the girls surfing on the crowd, and Floor has that beautiful fade off, my emotions rise with all of that and its a ride until the end. The sign brings it home, as I too want to thank Tuomos, the band and Floor for such an experience. I don't think anyone will ever match, for me anyway, the perfect beauty of Floor's tone. I can find others with range and control, but her voice is special. Having said that, Lovebites has become my favorite band of all time. Love Nightwish, and they are in their own special category for me. Lovebites is another one that is hard to fit in a genre. Mostly they do power/thrash metal, but they have some progressive things, and some amazing metal ballads. Musicianship is through the roof, and Asami's vocals are amazing I think in their own right. They take their name from a Halestorm song. I wonder if you might like checking them out. I chose two options, both with Lyrics. Holy War, live from 2021, is their most famous song probably. The Wembley 2015 version of "Nemo" is also amazing - Troy adds a whole new vibe to the song by playing the guitar with an e-bow, and the visuals are stunning.
I love this song, it is not amazing it is not difficult or technical but for me it is almost the perfect. Probably my favourite melody line in modern music. I often find myself humming it and so it is also often the first Nightwish song that a lot of my colleagues hear as they ask me what the tune is.
The Eagles have a song " One of these nights" And on August 3,2013 the Nightwish Wacken open Air concert was just that, everything came together as it should be, to make it a perfect magical performance. The audiance, the high expectations from the big fanbase to hear Floor life for the first time with nightwish, her taking the audiance in the palm of her hand from the first Song on, the Summer night time, the weather, the pyro, the lighteffects , the stage, the videowall, the band as a whole, every performer on his/her own very high level, the sound mixing, the setlist....I can go on and on and on. it was a once in a lifetime moment.

The comments you showed referred to another show in 2023 in the Netherlands at the Pinkpop festival. Then it was scorching hot and she had performed solo a few hours before. She only started her solo career during the covid years
They had click tracks here too, but since Floor had been only 9-10months in the band at this point her parts didn't have as much harmony lines from track. After all Anette's harmonies would of probably clashed little bit against Floor's vocals.

I think this is when they announced her as their new singer and if I recall correctly she had 3 days to learn the playlist and how it sings. True artistry snd the bands amazing.

Great reaction! One of their most iconic songs. That piano intro is instantly recognizable. This song is another example of Tuomas's skill as a composer because there are so many great versions and interpretations of it. I count 6 versions that I love. The original music video with Tarja (great visually storytelling to go with the music), Tarja live at End of an Era, this performance from Wacken, Planet Rock acoustic version with just Floor, Troy and a guitar, stripped down version Floor sings in her solo show from Amsterdam (completely different arrangement and feel, almost jazzy, with a fragile and vulnerable energy th-cam.com/video/Uebh4TuP_Xg/w-d-xo.html), and Floor's amazing performance from Hellfest 2022. About your previous reaction: At Pinkpop the mix was Pinkpop mix, not Nightwish mix so always bad😂. Also the moment Floor lost a bit control as she walked out was IMHO caused by a wavering wireless connection.
Correct. Sound is normally shite at most festivals, but even when it's not, the mix is not optimal for listening at home. Oh, this g@wddamn wireless... Remember those constant mic dropouts when she was in ReVamp? It would always take the sound crew forever to fix the problem.

Could've been the case if it were a condenser mic (still unlikely though), but completely improbable with a dynamic mic like Shure SM58, they can handle much more sound pressure than even Floor is capable of producing. The issue was 100% with the wireless transmission. Frequency overlap and interference (radio and TV towers and smartphones), the placement of the receiver relative to the mic (people and objects obscuring the signal) etc. Still no excuse for the lousy sound crew, for other bands do manage to overcome these issues. I wonder why she would never try to grab the other mic (Jord didn't need it that often) or just use an old-school wired one instead. Would also be healthier than having a powerful source of UHF emission close to her head (great for inducing insomnia, migraines and overall contributing to the mental exhaustion a lot of musicians regularly suffer from).
I don't understand the subject, but I think that on DVD there is some kind of mix (best quality), different from live festivals with simultaneous transmission.
The meaning of "click track" normally is a metronome kind of sound,but there are also sometimes spoken words as cue's . Floor is a great singer. Probably good that they had a buffer singer between her and Tarja though as she's similar enough, and probably a better fit for the band itself, but ultimately doesn't have quite the voice of Tarja. If she'd followed immediately I suspect fans would have rejected her due to being so similar.

This is one of the few nightwish songs I prefer when tarja sings it. Not to discredit floor, she’s absolutely brilliant, but I grew up listening to tarja sing it and it just feels kinda off when floor does it.
Pinkpop was not such a great concert, so hot and Floor did two shows, one solo and one with Nightwish. A much better night time version of the recent tour is at Deichbrand. Bear in mind that before Xmas she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had an operation and very shortly back on tour. She also got pregnant so is just finishing the tour at least 5 months pregnant but still windmilling. Low whistle is being by sixth band member, multi instrumentalist Troy Donockley from England. To hear the Uilleann pipes maybe listen to I Want My Tears Back in Buenos Aries 2018/19. He also plays bouzouki and guitars in various songs.

Sorry, but Floor's new solo album videos don't have the kick that her solo covers, Beste Zangers, and Amsterdam Live 2021 videos have. IMO.

This song is another example of Tuomas's skill as a composer because there are so many great versions and interpretations of it. I count 6 versions that I love. The original music video with Tarja (great visually storytelling to go with the music), Tarja live at End of an Era, this performance from Wacken, Planet Rock acoustic version with just Floor, Troy and a guitar, stripped down version Floor sings in her solo show from Amsterdam (completely different arrangement and feel, almost jazzy, with a fragile and vulnerable energy th-cam.com/video/Uebh4TuP_Xg/w-d-xo.html), and Floor's amazing performance from Hellfest 2022. Troy is playing the Irish Low Whistle, a low tuned version of a tin whistle.

At Pinkpop the mix was Pinkpop mix, not Nightwish mix so always bad😂. Also the moment Floor lost a bit control as she walked out was IMHO caused by a wavering wireless connection.
Correct. Sound is normally shite at most festivals, but even when it's not, the mix is not optimal for listening at home.
Oh, this g@wddamn wireless... Remember those constant mic dropouts when she was in ReVamp? It would always take the sound crew forever to fix the problem.

Could've been the case if it were a condenser mic (still unlikely though), but completely improbable with a dynamic mic like Shure SM58, they can handle much more sound pressure than even Floor is capable of producing.
The issue was 100% with the wireless transmission. Frequency overlap and interference (radio and TV towers and smartphones), the placement of the receiver relative to the mic (people and objects obscuring the signal) etc. Still no excuse for the lousy sound crew, for other bands do manage to overcome these issues.
I wonder why she would never try to grab the other mic (Jord didn't need it that often) or just use an old-school wired one instead. Would also be healthier than having a powerful source of UHF emission close to her head (great for inducing insomnia, migraines and overall contributing to the mental exhaustion a lot of musicians regularly suffer from).
I don't understand the subject, but I think that on DVD there is some kind of mix (best quality), different from live festivals with simultaneous transmission.
IMO Wacken 2013 and Wembley 2015 are their best mixed live albums.

Floor is a great singer. Probably good that they had a buffer singer between her and Tarja though as she's similar enough, and probably a better fit for the band itself, but ultimately doesn't have quite the voice of Tarja. If she'd followed immediately I suspect fans would have rejected her due to being so similar.

Nemo (nameless) is one of the early breakout hits from Nightwish... and even though Floor is a fantastic vocalist, I'll always love the original with Tarja.. the dark edge in Tarja's voice, and even her Finnish accent bleeding through is part of the song that I love... This is one of the few nightwish songs I prefer when tarja sings it. Not to discredit floor, she’s absolutely brilliant, but I grew up listening to tarja sing it and it just feels kinda off when floor does it.
Fortunately this performance isn't floor-less.
Pinkpop was not such a great concert, so hot and Floor did two shows, one solo and one with Nightwish. A much better night time version of the recent tour is at Deichbrand. Bear in mind that before Xmas she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had an operation and very shortly back on tour. She also got pregnant so is just finishing the tour at least 5 months pregnant but still windmilling. Low whistle is being by sixth band member, multi instrumentalist Troy Donockley from England. To hear the Uilleann pipes maybe listen to I Want My Tears Back in Buenos Aries 2018/19. He also plays bouzouki and guitars in various songs.

Remember, they are not focused on the song as a whole necessarily but on the vocals in the song, you just need to roll with it.
