Nightwish at Red Rocks would be awesome! How well I remember the many concerts I heard there as a young man. Now that I've fallen in love with Nightwish, I would love to return to see them in that incredible venue.
Thanks Christi, loved your reaction and enthusiasm! Great analysis of this performance as alvvays. And also liked how you made the comparison between the acoustic version and Wacken13. Also thanks for sharing your favourite moments of this performance.
Great reaction. Good job breaking down why this song is so awesome! This was the song that got me into Nightwish, and was my gateway song into all the other excellent metal bands in Europe.
Lovely reaction again. I have seen Nightwish twice live. Once just a few months before Floor stepped in, so with Anette as a singer and once (2018) with Floor as the female voice. But... I have seen Floor perform 3 times. The first time was when she was still with After Forever and she blew me away with their song Come, in which she switches from a rock sound into a clear classical sound. The second time was with Nightwish in 2018 and the last time was Floor solo (with Henk Poort) in Januari this year, just before covid-19 took over our social lives. I'm looking forward to see Nightwish again in November in Amsterdam, but I doubt if that will happen.

Very nice comparison to these two magnificient versions of this timeless Nightwish classic. Both versions have their own right to existence, of course. Thank you!
Hi Christi! I would love to see you do an analysis on Nightwish Romanticide, I think you would really dig it and it's different than the other Nightwish songs you have done! Can't wait XO
That would actually be the most awesome concert if they could play at Red Rocks. I watch the video with the John Tesh back in 1995 Live at Red Rocks and even that was beautiful. Keep doing what you are doing, love your reactions and much respect to you.
In Latin "Nemo" means "nobody", which is key for understanding the lyrics properly. The acoustic version at Planet Rock, that you've already reacted to, is even better with more emotion in Floor's voice.
Speaking of watching the members step up and shine, and how much the band loves one another, I hope you will consider reacting to The Islander, live at Tampere. Marko really shines, and I think you'll be surprised at the vocalist he is. Thanks for doing what you do.
Hello Christi, I absolutely loved this reaction video! And I absolutely love Nightwish the same way you do. I have seen them live once and have tickets for their gig in November. I hope they'll be back on stage by than, but I think we have to wait a bit longer. Well, I'm looking forward to it, whenever it will be.
Thanks for this marvelous respectfull and intellegent reaction to this incredible band, i'm too very in love with them, specialy also the family sence of them, when you love them your a family member.
Heard this song in 2007, decided it was my favorite song. I still agree with that assessment. Was planning to go to the LA concert on the eve of my birthday, but looks like that won't be happening. But I was lucky enough to see them live in 2009 in Hartford, it was fantastic.
Loved your reaction and analysis as usual. This was probably Nightwish' biggest European hit songs. Nightwish is only scheduled for 4 shows in North America right now. They may actually postpone all of these show due to covid. However their tour schedule has lots of space to add many more shows in late winter - early spring 2021. I am hoping this will be the window of opportunity? This is one of my favorite songs as well. A real feel good song. Even though it is about Tuomas feeling he has lost his way and needed to find his bliss. Nemo is Latin for no one or nobody. The man without a name. Just like the captain in Jules Verne's "20000 Leagues Beneath the Sea". See you for the next one lovely lady. Peace.
Since you have listened to this song in both acoustic and regular versions, maybe you can listen to it with Tarja, as it was originally made, that would be an interesting comparison between the versions !
Christi.....As usual a wonderful reaction, you talk I learn. This is the one, the start for a lot of us in America. The first Nightwish song I ever heard. It became popular in South or Central America and worked its way north. Nemo means nobody in Latin. The song is about being directionless, being lost in yourself. " One without a name ". When you mentioned the bands tour, I glanced at my tickets for LA in September on the desk. Probably no going to happen this year. Ironic you mentioned it as I listened to my Nightwish birth place. It stays on my bucket list for now. Miss the doggie cameos, perm looks great.! Be well.
This used to be my favorite Nightwish song back when Tarja was their main vocal. When Floor came in i just fall in love with all the other songs and especially the ones performed life. Now i enjoy all of their masterpieces :)
Floor has said on her own channel that they will not be touring anytime soon. Tim Akkerman did a rendition of this for Floor during Best Zangers 2019. Thanks for doing this one. Look forward to your reactions to the songs off Human : Nature.

@@lakelili I would not be surprised if the tour gets postponed to 2021. At least in my country the government announced that there will not be any major events as long as there is no vaccine.
Yes, they are just an incredible band with amazing chemistry. Each is a master in their own right - put them together and it is just otherworldly. For two other very melodic songs I think you will LOVE, check out Dead Boy’s Poem from Buenos Aires 2018 and Sleeping Sun from Tampere 2015. Floor will absolutely melt your brain in both of them
They often play their songs acoustically when they are preparing to record - that's been said in a couple of interviews. Summer camp - picnic - fire etc comes to mind :) Great reaction, thank you!
Hi there , it seems like you became a Nightwish fan :) I actually promised myself that as soon as covid situation ends I will go to the first concert of Nightwish as long as its in Europe, anywhere in Europe :)
Nice reaction Christi! I like how you were talking about the best bits and ended up listing almost the whole song xD This one was a huge success at its time of release and maybe his first BIG hit as a single, originally recorded with Tarja in the same album as Ghost Love Score. The music video or the live at End of an Era with her are also pretty great, so you have more versions of the song if you want xD Lovely to see you falling in love more and more with the band. It happened to all of us. They are magical really, it's not just good music, as you said, they are a great group of people and so are most fans. I'm also waiting to see them live, fortunately for me they have a date in my city in January 2021, hope that COVID lets it happen. Not sure about USA, probably others in the comments know better. But in the future they'll have to consider doing more dates there, they are growing in NA thanks to YT. Cheers!
So on a Nightwish world tour, what they have been doing recently is in the first year of the tour they will do a quick whistle stop tour of North America, NYC, LA, Toronto, Montreal, that sort if thing, then they will go and tour the rest of the planet. In the second year of the tour they return to North America and do an extensive tour of the US and Canada, hitting a lot of the smaller cities, including where I live up in Canada. Eventually, they will come close to you, but just how long from now that will be is, of course, unknown.
Yup, when they have their heads together, you know something is up. Christi, take a look at "I Want My Tears Back" from the same concert and see Emppu mess with Floor's in-ear wireless at 3:58, Troy's "He gotchya" face at 4:03 and her reaction when he goes by again at 4:28. The look on her face at 4:25 as she's trying to get them back on line, "I'm gonna squish that hobbit!" She got her own back though. Apparently she had one of the crew swap out his Corona beer for apple juice and he hates apples.
Not sure where exactly you are but I was upset when I saw the three N.A. dates because I live in Missouri. Oh well, bought my tickets and the wife and I are driving to the Boston area to see them in a year. They are on my Must See Live list. I can't miss it.
@@juyifan7933 because the guy in charge only picks music he likes, and he dislikes metal which is why it is not typically in it, yet you'll see artists that have nothing to do with rock in it
@@juyifan7933 Hell they aren't well known in their own country!😢 Thanks to Beste Zangers Floor has gotten a lot of attention. And that is bringing attention to Nightwish.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a BIG FAT JOKE! It's in my area and I refuse to go! It isn't about the music. It is 100% POLITICAL! Just look at the last inductions. Why isn't OZZY or JUDAS PRIEST in there? But Whitney Houston was inducted?!?! WTF??? All of these Rap people are now added in. Notorious B.I.G is NOT ROCK N' ROLL!!! As far as Nightwish, they aren't well know as in many areas of the world, including their own countries. They have many fans but they don't have the backing from other artists as well. Many of these idiots whose music SUCK are going n the radio etc...because someone else was in their corner backing them. I think they don't have the big names in Rock, or on the radio saying how amazing they are, because they know they are musically better than they are! Think about it. If a big singer like Lady Gaga, for example talked about how Great they are, think of the attention they would get. Unless you are willing to kiss ass in the music realm now, you don't get as much attention. And they are a threat. Actually Lady Gaga did say nice things about Floor's shallow. But it was a quick sound bite. Sad she didn't look into Nightwish as a band. I think they would be a great band to have open at the large venues. And then they could separate and do their usual tour stops.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is for boomers. The morons only talked about adding Judas Priest (the Judas fucking Priest) last year. That's how pathetic that organization is. Irrelevant. 🙅👎
i like your editing format , it works very well, for your own pleasure I recomend Nemo from the decades concert Buenos Aires 2018, for me that is the ultimate version of this song
Hi Christi - as always, Love you in depth reactions. I would recommend 2 songs for you to react to from Nightwish - both from the Waken 2013 concert. The first would be "Everdream" , and the other would be "Song of Myself" - The vocals in both, really shine. 2013
Nemo was originally sang by the first singer Tarja. Also the original song doesn't have Troy's flute(?) in it. :) I think the original version is also awesome. Nonetheless, I love this wacken performance.
@@MissHmusicK Yeah I found the original... it's weird though I feel like I've heard an album version with Anette singing it. But then again I've been going down a Nightwish rabbit hole I can't tell which way is up. And yeah I agree that Anette's singing style isn't as powerful as the other two, and almost get lost in the grandiosity of the music I think Floor has such range that she can easily flick from a Tarja era song to an Anette era song with relative ease.
@@tonyhancock5467 yes, she can do both eras extremely well. There are few songs in which I prefer Tarja over Floor and even fewer I prefer Anette over Floor
Nemo is always a must! Nice to see you take on this and offer your comments. Suggestions for further reactions: Dead Boy's Poem from Buenos Aires is formidable for the emotion Floor puts into it, really brings it to life. From the same "Decades" show in Buenos Aires i also recommend 'Gethsemane' and one of my favorites, '10th man down'.
I strongly suggest that you react to the song "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires. like "the poet and the pendulum" is a song developed as a suicide letter, "dead boy's poem" is a sort of tuomas musical testament, wonderfully sung by floor with kindness and power at the same time.
All their last live tours usually visited quite a lot of cities all over the Usa (including the 'middle') - although they had to play smaller venues with smaller lightshow etc, compared to their European shows. The planned and now postponed (?) Human|Nature tour having only one concert for each coast was a little surprise. Maybe they would have added a whole additional tour next year? But now with the pandemic it remains questionable if the plans as they are can even be done :/
I would so be there if they played Red Rocks! They've actually played in Denver before, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. If you watch their documentary "please learn the setlist in 48 hours" Denver is the infamous show in 2012ere Annette could not perform due to being ill, and they had the two singers from the opening band (i forget their names) literally sing the lyrics from printed out pieces of paper (they did a pretty decent job). After the show they called Floor and asked if she could fill in for the rest of the tour. Their next stop was Seattle and Floor had to fly from Europe and meet them there and literally she had only 48 hours to learn the setlist for that show. It's 2 hours long, but worth the watch if you want more history of the band.
Holy smokes! I'm getting anxiety just READING this story! I'll give it look. Thanks for filling me in. And YES to Red Rocks. It is the perfect venue for music of all genres, but I'm a bit biased. I admit it! 😘
@@TheVoiceLoveCo I'm partial to Red Rocks as well as I'm a CO native (living in NM now) and have seen many shows there. It would be so awesome if they played Red Rocks!
I think it is the other way around. It is almost is the start of a song the medoly line is first, and the added instruments add to it. Whenever that melody needs space for a voice or a solo of one instrument, space is created by cutting down one or more of the other instruments. At least, that is my take on it. I still haven't figured out how, or why it seems at some parts one instrument almost has a 7/8 or 3/4 line and at the same time it has a phrasing more akin a 4/4.
Can't go wrong with Nightwish. If you love Marco's vocals & want to see some young Nightwish, try reacting to their cover of High Hopes from their End of a Era concert
Christi! ❤️ I watched the Tampere 2015 concert on TH-cam this morning. You should sit your family down (you won't be sitting for long!) and watch it together. I doubt they'll be touring America for the foreseeable future. Not until America gets its act together to stop Covid. I hoped to get tickets for Wembley in December, but they sold out last November. 🤦
Shit. I can't go :( WAIT A MINUTE. IT'S LOW AVAILABILITY. I think we can go! The thing is, is that it might get moved, which is why I've held off for so long.
YES. Floor is amazing. The song was always bloody amazing. The combination is deadly :). I choose to interpret this song as a Vampire-Song. (That's why I chose the word "bloody".) Thank you for making this reaction-video dear Christi.
For whatever reason, they shortchanged us on the NA tour this year, even before Covid hit. Normally they do a good month/six weeks or so with 3 or 4 shows a week, across the US and the Great White North :). Hopefully you'll be able to catch them on the next go round!
@madDdog, I wouldn't take it personally - they're probably just trying to pace themselves, not being youngsters any more. In the past, they've done insanely lengthy and demanding world tours that almost disintegrated the band as well as the individuals. And if you have to make choices, it's natural to concentrate on countries where you have the most fans. And yes...Covid. USA is not the safest place in the world right now. Take care and stay healthy.
@@thisworldofwater8017 Yeah, spending 6 weeks in a tour bus to do the US has to be a drag when they can *drive* to some festivals in Europe :). Plus, they seem to get sick all the time...they called the EFMB tour the Endless Flu something tour lol. Another odd thing was only 5 dates in SA that were announced for this year...can't be very economical to fly the band and crew to SA for 5 dates and then go back home, but that was the original plan. That's why I though it especially weird not to do more NA dates right after that.
Also interesting: This Wacken 2013 live version follows the original recording, with the addition of Floor and Troy's flute. (The live version with Tarja from back then is of course also recommended th-cam.com/video/ww2f4PPprSc/w-d-xo.html Nemo Live 2005) When Anette became the vocalist, some say she struggled with the older songs - being more of a pop singer and according to some not that strong live - decide for yourselves th-cam.com/video/W9Z8Tn1V_x0/w-d-xo.html (Nemo Live Montreux 2012) So during the last tour with her, they made this slow jazzy semi-acoustig re-arrangement of Nemo, seen on some fan-filmed videos: th-cam.com/video/bulgNm4ng7c/w-d-xo.html When Floor rushedly took over in 2012, at first they kept performing that version, e.g.: th-cam.com/video/dT6bbuMnPwM/w-d-xo.html Though they later (like at Wacken) returned to the full rock version, Floor added this version to her repertoire at the Solo shows she did in the Netherlands after her appearance at the Beste Zangers TV show! th-cam.com/video/sXzVhCTTJ2c/w-d-xo.html So I'd dare to say, that this was the basis for the stripped down acousitc version she did with Troy!

Can't wait XO
thanks for your reactions 👍
That would actually be the most awesome concert if they could play at Red Rocks. I watch the video with the John Tesh back in 1995 Live at Red Rocks and even that was beautiful. Keep doing what you are doing, love your reactions and much respect to you.
In Latin "Nemo" means "nobody", which is key for understanding the lyrics properly. The acoustic version at Planet Rock, that you've already reacted to, is even better with more emotion in Floor's voice.
They are fantastic live. I took my wife and daughter twice to see them and they are quite magical.
I would LOVE to see them at Red Rocks. I saw Rush there and it was absolutely astonishing. Great venue.
I will never get over how Tuomas is so happy here he finally found a singer worthy of he's songs :)
Nightwish at Red Rocks with a (CO) Symphonic Orchestra - total top of the bucket list!
Sooo glad you took the floor version 😄💜🎶🦉☯️🙏🏼😘👑
Thanks for this marvelous respectfull and intellegent reaction to this incredible band, i'm too very in love with them, specialy also the family sence of them, when you love them your a family member.
Heard this song in 2007, decided it was my favorite song. I still agree with that assessment.
Was planning to go to the LA concert on the eve of my birthday, but looks like that won't be happening. But I was lucky enough to see them live in 2009 in Hartford, it was fantastic.
Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem - Live in Buenos Aires 2018 😍 Danke
Thankyou 👌🤘💖
Have they definitely cancelled their tour November December 2020? I thought it was just the American leg
@@sarahwithstars - the European dates have been rebooked for November - Hamburg 🇩🇪 - 18.11.2020 (tickets now available)
/ Zürich 🇨🇭 - 01.12.2020 (tickets now available) / Prague 🇨🇿 - 06.12.2020 (tickets available 05.15) / Gliwice 🇵🇱 - 13.12.2020 (tickets available 05.11)... The Russian, Belarus, and Ukranian tour dates have been rebooked for June 2021.. the web site still lists the North American dates for Sept/Oct but the Toronto venue has suspended all shows. It looks like the NYC venue has done the same... not cure about California...
@@lakelili I would not be surprised if the tour gets postponed to 2021. At least in my country the government announced that there will not be any major events as long as there is no vaccine.
@@lakelili I'm waiting to see what's happen, here in Switzerland atm we have a 1000 people limit and don't know how it will be in December. ☹️
@@Fabi72g I'm in Atlantic Canada and our area limit is 50 people... but good luck getting that many together.
Always look forward to your NW reactions ,always a pleasure ,your smile is infectious ,thank you !
her vocals are so free, absolutely nothing distorts her tone.
Floor will absolutely melt your brain in both of them
Yesss Nightwish at Red Rocks would be amazing!!!!
I think this is the best reaction I have seen so far. Oh, and believe me I have seen many ...
Wow Nightwish again
I think you are a Nightwish Army now ✌️😁
They often play their songs acoustically when they are preparing to record - that's been said in a couple of interviews. Summer camp - picnic - fire etc comes to mind :) Great reaction, thank you!
Hi there , it seems like you became a Nightwish fan :) I actually promised myself that as soon as covid situation ends I will go to the first concert of Nightwish as long as its in Europe, anywhere in Europe :)
as always, nicely done. And as you can see from multiple comments, your mention of Red Rocks was brilliant. It won’t happen but we can dream. 🤩
You’re absolutely gorgeous Christy! Lovely reaction ❤️
Agree with you - I am SO going to see Them live in concert - London or Oslo ot both😄 love your reactions...NW is awesome.
I have tickets for NYC, but I am with you about how fantastic Nightwish at Red Rocks would be!
Nice reaction Christi! I like how you were talking about the best bits and ended up listing almost the whole song xD
This one was a huge success at its time of release and maybe his first BIG hit as a single, originally recorded with Tarja in the same album as Ghost Love Score. The music video or the live at End of an Era with her are also pretty great, so you have more versions of the song if you want xD
Lovely to see you falling in love more and more with the band.
I love this song!! And I love your breakdown of this too :D
In "beste zangers" this song was covered by Tim Akkerman. Did a great job too.
What a great reaction and breakdown, thankyou 🤘
Thanks for this great video. I have to say your hair is beautiful!!
Never turn your back on Emmpu, especially when he is talking to Troy. He's up to something🤣🤣
@@billattercliffe8655 Yep. That's exactly what I heard🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol I love this comment!! It is absolutely true, he is always up to mischief and trying to lead angelic Troy astray ♥️😜😍
@@billattercliffe8655 Thanks for the info! Us Little People are relentless pranksters. Its a part of our DNA.
@@sarahwithstars Nah, Troy is as bad as Emppu, he just plays innocent 🤣
Not sure where exactly you are but I was upset when I saw the three N.A. dates because I live in Missouri. Oh well, bought my tickets and the wife and I are driving to the Boston area to see them in a year. They are on my Must See Live list. I can't miss it.
Nightwish at Red Rocks would be incredible! Maybe someday...
Emppu had a blast too. Talking to Troy, taunting Marko, jumping and running on the stage.
Twirling, twirling, twirling drumstick.
I will never understand how they aren't in The Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame, yet there are artists who are in other genres who are! 🤷🤦😤
Because only bands popular in the USA are in the Hall of Fame. Nightwish is rather unknown in the US.
Irrelevant. 🙅👎
i like your editing format , it works very well,
for your own pleasure I recomend Nemo from the decades concert Buenos Aires 2018, for me that is the ultimate version of this song
They do come to Denver normally. I've seen them at the Ogden 3 times.
The whole concert is awesome. You would do a reaction for Ever Dream live at Wacken 2013
Thank you
Hi Christi - as always, Love you in depth reactions. I would recommend 2 songs for you to react to from Nightwish - both from the Waken 2013 concert. The first would be "Everdream" , and the other would be "Song of Myself" - The vocals in both, really shine.
2013
You are right about a show at Red Rocks, that would be amazing
Oh, wow... yes, Nightwish at Red Rocks would be the most epic concert!
glad Christi mentioned that idea ! Wow, we can dream 😊 that would be great.
Great reaction as always!
More Nightwish ! ! !
(Only drawback is, your cheeks will remain smiley through everything you watch)
(MAKE AMERICA NIGHTWISH)
I knew it! I knew you could not resist watching the Wacken version after watching the Planet Rock acoustic one. HEHE! 😉
Nemo was originally sang by the first singer Tarja. Also the original song doesn't have Troy's flute(?) in it. :) I think the original version is also awesome. Nonetheless, I love this wacken performance.
I thought it was sang by Anette?
@@tonyhancock5467 nope. Absolutely not. It is from the album Once published 2004. The last album with Tarja as a lead singer.
@@tonyhancock5467 Anette sang it in some gigs but since her voice is so diff, it is gringeworthy
@@MissHmusicK Yeah I found the original... it's weird though I feel like I've heard an album version with Anette singing it. But then again I've been going down a Nightwish rabbit hole I can't tell which way is up.
And yeah I agree that Anette's singing style isn't as powerful as the other two, and almost get lost in the grandiosity of the music
I think Floor has such range that she can easily flick from a Tarja era song to an Anette era song with relative ease.
@@tonyhancock5467 yes, she can do both eras extremely well. There are few songs in which I prefer Tarja over Floor and even fewer I prefer Anette over Floor
You are correct, Red Rocks would be a fantastic venue for NW! Great breakdown of a wonderful song
They have played in Denver before, so I am hoping when they reschedule the tour they add Denver.
Hi Christi. You look great. Love this. Floor also does Nemo at the Muziekcafe with the band from Beste Zangers.
Nightwish at Red Rocks would be awesome!
What about Queen, so many legendary live performances 👌👌
I LOVE your smile. Try Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere. The entire Wacken concert is mind blowing. Song of Myself...wow
Thanks forsharing, lovely reaction. Please do some Alter bridge - Blackbird or Words darker than wings
Awesome reaction as usual, thank you 😊🤘🏻 take some time and watch the Wembley performance . Troy using an ebow! 🤯
Can't go wrong with Nightwish. If you love Marco's vocals & want to see some young Nightwish, try reacting to their cover of High Hopes from their End of a Era concert
Christi! ❤️
I watched the Tampere 2015 concert on TH-cam this morning. You should sit your family down (you won't be sitting for long!) and watch it together. I doubt they'll be touring America for the foreseeable future. Not until America gets its act together to stop Covid. I hoped to get tickets for Wembley in December, but they sold out last November. 🤦
Shit. I can't go :(
WAIT A MINUTE. IT'S LOW AVAILABILITY. I think we can go! The thing is, is that it might get moved, which is why I've held off for so long.
YES. Floor is amazing. The song was always bloody amazing. The combination is deadly :).
I choose to interpret this song as a Vampire-Song. (That's why I chose the word "bloody".)
Thank you for making this reaction-video dear Christi.
(The live version with Tarja from back then is of course also recommended th-cam.com/video/ww2f4PPprSc/w-d-xo.html Nemo Live 2005)
When Anette became the vocalist, some say she struggled with the older songs - being more of a pop singer and according to some not that strong live - decide for yourselves th-cam.com/video/W9Z8Tn1V_x0/w-d-xo.html (Nemo Live Montreux 2012)
So during the last tour with her, they made this slow jazzy semi-acoustig re-arrangement of Nemo, seen on some fan-filmed videos: th-cam.com/video/bulgNm4ng7c/w-d-xo.html
When Floor rushedly took over in 2012, at first they kept performing that version, e.g.: th-cam.com/video/dT6bbuMnPwM/w-d-xo.html
Though they later (like at Wacken) returned to the full rock version, Floor added this version to her repertoire at the Solo shows she did in the Netherlands after her appearance at the Beste Zangers TV show! th-cam.com/video/sXzVhCTTJ2c/w-d-xo.html
So I'd dare to say, that this was the basis for the stripped down acousitc version she did with Troy!
Tim Akkerman sang this for Floor at Beste Zangers. I loved her reaction.
