    It's always nice, especially after you buy something, to find out it is precisely what was needed!

    Hello, one question. Does Dual Pixel touch autofocus work in manual settings recording mode? I mean it does or require to be in some predefined auto mode for touch focus option?

    Hey guys! You mentioned the 55 outputting clean HD. I wasn't sure if you were saying that the 50 could not or that the 55 had the higher bit rate? To clarify, can the 50 output direct HD to a pc capture card for use in streaming etc?

    • @CanonEurope
      @CanonEurope  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kyle, The output is the same from both via HDMI, the only difference is XA55 has an SDI connector, XA50 doesn’t.
      The signal out end use will depend on suitable third party equipment.

    Hi guys. I am looking for an NTSC/PAL XA50 Canon camera which apparently it's been sold only in Asia. As a canadian I travel a lot to my native Europe and I would like to be able to capture images in both formats. Please advise where could I buy one from without travelling to Hong Kong, Singapore, India etc. Thanks.

    Hey Canon, please tell me which model of your camcorders is now the best for low light video?

    • @CanonEurope
      @CanonEurope  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, it depends a bit on what you are filming. You could lean towards a larger (1-inch type) sensor, as the pixels will be larger, meaning less noise. Either the XA55/50 or XF405 from this range might suit you well.

    Hi Canon. I'm just learning how to shoot video and looking for an entry level camcorder that can accommodate live video streaming for religious services. Would the XA 50 or 55 allow me to do that? if not, which camera would you recommend?

    For those of you who come here wondering what the main difference is between these two cameras, here is your answer.
    There’s only one big difference between the XA50 and the XA55. The difference is that is the XA55 supports 3G SDI, and the XA50 does not. For people who absolutely must work in the serial digital interface, that makes the XA55 the more obvious choice. But it is a choice that can add nearly 20% to the price of the camera. So amateurs who don’t need to access 3G SDI will probably be better off sticking to the XA50.
    Everywhere else, the XA50 and XA55 are essentially the exact same machine, right down to the dual SD card slots which they use to record data.

      Yes, I am wondering, thank you for commenting. I gather that the 3G SDI is something to do with live streaming, but then you also have 6G SDI (4k-30) and 12G SDI (4K-60) how often would you use the 3G SDI and the next level SDI’s? I guess it’s to do with high professional broadcasting?

    Thank you, would this be a good upgrade from my Canon HF G30? I film high school basketball and some of the gyms don't have very good lighting. I see the HF G60 is basically the same as the XA50 just minus the handle. Am I correct on that?

    • @CanonEurope
      @CanonEurope  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The most significant difference is the G60 can only record in the MP4 codec, whereas the XA55/XA50 has the addition of XF-AVC for larger, files and high data rate capture. This makes it more suitable for a wider range of applications that provides pro level audio connections. XA50 is capable of 4-channel audio recording, while the G60 has more consumer focused Audio Scene selection and 2 channel audio only. Hope that helps :)

      @@CanonEurope Thank you, I am not really into audio so much, cause it's just a crowd cheering the whole time, I use a simple directional mic and it works for me....I'm deciding between the HF G60 and the FDR AX700, just wanting to see which one will give me the best picture and be easiest to use.

    XA55 or the XC15??

    So where is the difference between this and the XF 405 I already own?

    • @CanonEurope
      @CanonEurope  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Arthur, there are a couple of differences between the XA50 and the XF400. For instance, the XF405/XF400 is capable of shooting UHD in both 50P/25P and has Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity allowing fast transfer of files direct from the camcorder to external workflow environments. The XA55/XA50 is slightly smaller and lighter than the XF405/XF400, has a new Neutral setting in the Pictures Style menu and also lower power consumption, allowing extended shooting.

    Can you make some tutorials for adjustment & settings of the camera for new entrylevel

    • @mcddetectrespect.7467
      @mcddetectrespect.7467 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Canon are very poor on showing how to use their camcorders, they should go through the full menu step by step. They tell you what it can do but don’t show you much. Great camcorder from what I can see. Come on cannon do a full tutorial for beginners and everyone else.

    What is the Price ?

    I tested the Canon xa 50 - I wanted to buy a camera to replace my HF G10, but I was disappointed and refused to buy it, and here's why: 1. I didn't like the reduced folding screen / I compare everything with the HF G10 soybean / and inconvenient adjustment to my eyepiece vision. 2. there is no significant improvement in video quality in both 2k and 4k compared to my camera's 2k, but the volume of files has grown significantly. 3. I was very upset by the soapy video in panoramas, and the jerky video 25p - on my 50i and there are no such problems, including when slowing down the video on the timeline. 4. I was also upset by the lack of internal memory on the camera - but it could be organized on it 4.2.2. 10 bit 5. I really didn't like the organization of the footage files - 1k file as garbage and a long name of the main file compared to the designation of only the serial number of the file on my g10. There are still many small questions - but I attribute this to the G10 operating habits. Carefully reviewing your tests, I state that I am not mistaken about video quality issues

    1 inch sensor and canon cannot even put 60 fps , total waste of time and 405 is overpriced, waiting for next year

      You clearly don't know so much about cameras and videography. This is very desirable camera because of that 1080p quality and all other video specifik funktions that you not gonna get on any kind of dslr or mirrorless.
