I met Jack Parker when I lived in Rugby in the early 1980’s. He told me that he used to race speedway, but I had no idea he was such a champion… Until I came back to Australia and found photos of him in my father’s “Boy’s book of sports”. He was a true gentleman! Thank you for sharing this video.
Wow...absolutely fabulous images of some of the sport's greatest names. '48 when speedway was at the height of it's post WW2 boom. What fabulous times for those able to witness all this...🤗🤗
I expect my parents were at this event as spectators. They were keen supporters of the Diamonds. I have my mother's autograph book with the names of Ken LeBreton and Norman Evans in there. My father's favourite riders were Oliver Hart and Wilf Jay. I think I even have a supporters badge from that era somewhere. Thanks for posting.
