When he saw my original floating table that I made fev months ago he wanted the exact same coffee table.
After some discussion we final had an mutual agreement and this is what I came up with. I imagine that Tony Stark wouldn't mind to have one too :-)
This coffee table took me around one week to make working fev hrs at the time. Coffee table top is made out our Slovenian Maple and it"s 38mm thick.
For the base I went with sapele mahogany to achieve that contrast in colors.
Main support is Acrylic glass 32mm thick.
I added those sapele "rings" so when you're looking coffee table from the angle it looks like the whole table is floating it the air.
The most tricky part was gluing those pieces to the Acrylic glass.
Pieces needed to be aligned simeyrical to each other and I had to be careful not to spil some glue on the Acrylic glass.
For that I use tube with a long needle so I could reach tight spaces.
Unfortunately the last clip where you can see LEDs turned on is not the best quality regarding to room lightning and the effect of LEDs is not that well visible but with blue LED light this coffee table really shines.
New owner is very happy with his new coffee table.

The cavalier way he glues the pieces together hurt my brain at first, but by the end I realized he does his measurements in such a way that he doesn't have to fiddle around with the glue up, which is a huge time saver. It is always interesting to see someone who uses woodcraft to support their family or make a living because they care a lot about how they spend their time (provided they still appreciate quality like the Slovenian Woodworker)

Beautiful table.
Good to see that he uses a thingy to pass the wood past the saw. My Father was an Orthopaedic Surgeon and had more than one patient who lost his thumb by not using a thingy.
Camera angles makes it look way much dangerous than actually is. I take safety seriously. Thanks

very nice design, many used acrylic with edges, i think, though not tried, round edge will make more transparent
I tried it too but looks strange. Round edges aren't transparent at all from the side. It bends light.

Damn, that's a beautiful table. I don't think you need the LED lights, it keeps it a clean design.

Fantastic design. I really liked that touch on the top of the table as well. I like having a boundary line so I know when I’m about to spill my drink if I set the mug down haha.

Great job, looks amazing! It looks like the LED power wire is coming from the upper section, wouldn't it be better to put the LEDs on the bottom to up-light the acrylic and then the power wire could come from the base?
I can't repeat to everyone unfortunately.. Thr cored was just that time while i was filming. It was just for show. Table has it's own power supply.no more cord.

That was amazing. I love the table . Came out beautiful. I'm always amazed at how many people out are as creative as you are. That plus knowing what you are doing helps, and yes having an assortment of tools like you have is not for the weak of heart. Nonetheless it is a beautiful table. The attention to detail is stunning, as is the inlay on top. The tung oil really brings out the wood grain on it. I can't believe I didn't see it in the movie. Well done maestro.
