i'm so happy this came out. getting my mixes sounding right has been the biggest struggle these past 3-4 years. i've watched hundreds, maybe into the thousands of videos on this and it's just so hit or miss whether the tutorials actually translate well into other songs, styles etc. what works for them usually sounds like total shit on mine and leaves me back at square one. when you guys added the studio verse section with all the pre made chains, that helped so much. they actually work for the most part. they all need tweaking for specific things but it's at least doubled the quality of my music. there's just something about my voice that also has these sharp frequencies (probably something I could also work on with a voice coach) but the plugins now available in the subscription and having complete chains in studio rack helped so much. for the very first time in 4 years i can actually hear my mixes transitioning well with the major league shit on spotify etc. all the options etc. have really improved the smoothness and overall dynamics etc. it feels like there is more space, more detail on everything. the frequencies all have that nice warm and fuzzy but present sound going on with them. it feels like you guys gave me a cheat code lately which i can't say thanks enough for. along with logics new mastering option plus the ozone 11 eq by izotope, i'm finally seeing things evolve in the direction i want. for the longest time i just couldn't figure out wtf was going on why my mixes didn't sound nearly as good as dres, ye's, etc. or why jelly roll, post malone, etc. just sound mixed so perfect in comparison. it's all coming together now.

Just used it on a raucous live performance mix that was 99% there. It gave the vocal that final lift needed to sit perfectly in the mix without being over-bearing. Looking forward to seeing its other capabilities in future mixes.

Wow, this is something incredible you created Waves! This is what you really need at work! How could this even be given away for free? There was so much advertising around this soothe 2, no matter how much I tried to use it on different materials, it was constantly thrown into the furnace! and everything had to be solved using standard methods. Waves is doing a great job responding to the AI trend others advertise. Waves has major chops in UI that free them from competing like for like. Bottom line for us music makers is how easily we can find what is in our imagination. Waves is quite good at that without taking away full control from creators.

This is the first video about this plugin where the vocal sounded more clear with the plugin on. In other videos, the vocal sounded like it was getting weaker when they turned it on. Maybe it's because you're using the compressor, and it's just a little louder? I don't know. I think I want to be careful with this plugin if I use it. When I hit the 'delta' button, I don't want to hear too much being taken out.

This plugin seems like a more sophisticated Manny Marroquin Tripple D? I know Tripple D is quite good already, I would really have to hear them side by side. I also feel that Manny deserves some credit

Most modern DAWs will allow side chain modulation irrespective of the feature being built-in to the plugin itself.
This looks an excellent plugin, but that snare is torturous.

Waves didn’t even try to hide that this is heavily, heavily based off of oeksound’s “soothe” plugin
How is this different from Soothe2?
The biggest thing for me is the Live version. Soothe2 has way too much latency to use live. This I could use at FOH and on my broadcast mix in real time which is huge

Seems like the plugin is removing a lot of the natural vibe! Often I liked the bypassed version more.

I agree. My first thought after taming a vocal with silk on is always where did the vibe go. However, I can’t deny that I still like the plugin though.
@@TroyJamz I think very sparingly used (maybe not on the entire frequency spectrum) it has it's virtue! In the demo video to me it sounds overdone, especially on the last vocal (the female folk singer), where it takes a lot of the intimacy away and become brittle.
Even for soothe its recommended to turn Down The mix dial - check silk city mix With dua lipa On mix With The masters. Hes at 38 percebt and it still does a lot
