They told me I WOULDN’T make it… The Ha Giang Loop | Motorbiking Vietnam #5

  • A 30 day trip motorbiking across Vietnam ended at the Ha Giang Loop. The hardest part of my journey was yet to come.
    I had spent the last 20+ days riding through the south of Vietnam stopping at floating markets, beautiful landscapes, and homestays along the way. It was an incredible trip! But the biggest challenge was riding through the mountains in the north without breaking down or needing motorbike repairs.
    Here are the different places I stopped at:
    Ho Chi Man City
    Can Tho
    Phu Quoc
    Buon Ma Thout
    Kon Tum
    Hoi An
    Hai Van Pass
    Dong Ha
    Vinh
    Ninh Binh
    Ha Giang
    Boa Lac
    Hanoi

      I suggest prioritizing the north! The south is nice but it’ll add a lot of time onto the trip. Enjoy and safe travels!

    I will be there in November, Honda Wins are notorious. Honda Blade for me! I enjoyed the video.

    I spent all of last month touring Vietnam and motorbiking in Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh and Phu Quoc.
    1. You could have rented a Honda Blade for $250 for the whole month and likely avoided all the hassle (although this would restrict your route. But Tigit has locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh).
    2. Never mess with a Honda Win.
    3. The worst that the cops would do is take $60-80 from you for not having an international driver's permit with bike endorsement. And they didn't fine you!
    4. Always keep your passport on you.
    5. You can get a gps tracker for about $15 on Amazon to put in your backpack.
    Your videos make me want to go back!

    I did the ha giang loop recently on a Honda future with a tour, it was a seriously good experience but a little hairy in occasions. Bike held up perfectly through all of it.
    I would be absolutely terrified to do it on that bike. Doing it with that guy was a wise choice.

    Having to find all your lost belongings is a stressful way to conclude your trip in Vietnam. I'm glad you didn't have too many issues beyond that. Can't wait to see what adventures you had in Nepal.

    An intriguing story but sure not wanting to misplace the bag again. If I were in your shoes, I would indeed be petrified and clueless of what to do next. Glad that you were able to get back your bag pack 🙌.
    I'm eyeing on doing this Ha Giang loop too but wary about the weather as riding under the rainy season wouldn't be appreciable I guess. Did you ride Vietnam in the month of June?

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should definitely try to do the trip if you can. I went in September and it was perfect weather in the north, but the south was very rainy.

    Have you got another channel? Just curious because you mentioned taking so much footage but actually show very little actual footage. No hate, just curious because i kinda got into your vlogs and wish there was more of the actual experience you had thats all. Really good content though i like the documentary type of videos. I look forward to watching your other series.

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't have another channel for traveling but I did take a lot of other footage while in Vietnam. A lot of it I will be sharing in the future but it didn't fit very well with the story that I was telling. I'm still figuring out the best way to share stories so I appreciate the feedback. More to come!

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also side note: I lost all of my GoPro Footage while I was in Hanoi so that was about 30 hrs of footage gone which would have been awesome to see...

    For 3 days 2 night how much time is actually on the bike per segment?

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I spent a lot of time exploring and taking pictures so I would usually be riding around from the morning until 5pm. But it’s usually only a couple hours of riding on the Ha Giang loop.

    It's too short. Why there're only 5 episodes

    sir bike spare part in Vietnam are very cheap especially if you run to remote area all part are neither locally made or imported cheap mass produce from china it worth nothing no need worry it probably more cheap than your dinner bill when you in your country. seller and bike repair center wont sell anything expensive Vietnamese main customer are have low income they wont buy expensive stuff like european does.

    • @goodlifepursuer
      @goodlifepursuer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I found the parts to be very cheap. Some of the more rural places didn't have all the parts I needed but if they did it wasn't very expensive.
