Thanks for making a video that's not over 10 minutes long! You got all the information and sound comparison here and I know exactly what I want in under 6 minutes. Keep up the good work.
Great video - thanks for pointing out the main differences between the two mics. I'm going with the Mic 2 for the backup recording and external mic option
Listening on my iPad i heard no difference. Was wondering if they both have noice cancellation, wondering if Mic 2 may be better when recording outside
The Mic Mini has better noise cancellation than the Mic 2 actually. It has two levels of it. If you're listening without headphones, most audio doesn't matter because the speakers on ipads and iphones aren't anything that special.
@ yep I agree that’s why I mentioned iPad. Not a lot of difference on my headphones either for my old eyes. I think I will order the Mic2 because I have had to recover the audio in the past so I do like that feature.
I still have my DJI Mic (original) that I've only used a hand full of times. I feel like selling it but think I'll lose my shorts on it 🤪 so I just keep it for the couple times a year I use it.
Thanks for the videos you made about dji microphones ! I would like to buy wireless microphone to record car engine sound. Do you think the DJI Mic mini work weel for that ? Mic 2 can be better for this because of 32bits recording ? Thanks a lot for your help ! :)
32 bit float might be a useful option in the case of loud sounds like you're mentioning, but the built in limiting on the mic mini might be fine as well.
@@scottmckenna Ok thanks ! I think I will try DJI mini because they are cheaper, smaller, I prefer the color of the sound they record, and easier to use :)
32 bit float has come in the clutch in a huge way for me many times when interference happened, or wireless range issues. I can’t live without it for my professional work for sure. But I agree that for most people, it might not be a big deal.
For Event Shooting… 32 Bit Float & Internal Recording has given me peace of mind. It may make not make sense, it certain will when you find yourself praying you captured one shot to capture audio.
I bought the mic 2 some months ago, got the email about the mic mini, saw the price, all the benefits and felt a bit … fooled. But then I noticed that it doenst have a lav input and no 32 bit float and I was like aaaaahhh okay, so not for me … BUT DJI just left that out of the comparison sheets … so you actually dont get a honest comparison, just a look-buy-our-new-product-comparison (love DJI Products anyways, they are awesome)

I just realized you’re switching between mics while doing the review

Two quick questions, can you use the Mini transmitters on the Mic 2 receiver and the max transmitters on a receiver is 2, correct?
Mic 2 sounds better from the outset but its still amazing what the mini can do for the size and cost.
I think the mic mini sounds better on its own personally. But with some eq, you can tweak the mic 2 easily.

Great idea. But them through my link if you want to have no sales tax.
I have noise canceling buds in. They sound different, but the mini definitely isn't "worse"

Mic 2 is my go to mic internal recording and lav mic input!! I have both

how often can people use 32 bit float? does it have to be 32 bit float all the time? i think for the convenience the mic mini is the way to go…

Mic mini sound more natural and smooth. I don't like the high frequency boost on the Mic 2. Sound too sharp :/
I agree.
Incredible times indeed. AI is about to change everything.
MIC MINI sounds better when noice cancellation is turned on on both mics. Mic2 noise cancellation sounds horrible
is it possible to connect mic mini to the base of mic 2? and the opposite mic 2 to the base of mic mini ?
thanks
I don’t believe so

It’s a great mic though for sure. Though it’s missing some features in comparison. It’s still outstanding.
