This message cant be stressed enough and might very well be the #1 most important act in any church since anyone-member, regular attendee, and visitor witnesses and experiences it. Read the Word, explain it by digging into the verses or section of verses, and make it understandable by the audience.
I try to see discover how we can be as authoritative as the old preachers were. Possibly some do say it like the prophets: "Thus says the LORD!" but not many. Maybe that's why God does not speak so clearly through many of us preachers in our action of preaching. We are too fond of saying "I think" or "in my opinion" or "according to Joe Bloggs"..etc instead of proclaiming what is on the Bible's pages.
