Here in Russia, we have a beautiful indication if the breeder is a scam or not:
If a breeder says their puppies have official documents and at the same time offers you a puppy without papers for a significantly lower price - it's a scam!
The biggest cost is always the puppy itself!
The bloodlines, genetics, health tests for parents and even the costs for showing the dogs (believe me, a good handler for dog show costs a lot) and raising a healthy puppy (food, supplements, vaccines).
Ain't single paper would cost more than all that preparation and that's the thing that backyard breeders don't know about. Backyard breeders and scams have ZERO ideas where the papers come from and why they are so important.
Thank you for sharing Jason! I've had my Cane corso for about 8 months. He is a "Rescue." The people who originally had him purchased him from a breeder. Obviously the breeder did not care about how or where the dog was going to be living. He ended up going to a small apartment in San Diego where is spent the most of his puppy hood in a kennel for upwards of 20 hrs. That was his FIRST home. Come to find out these people realized they should not have a pup...Sold him to someone else who had a baby, the wife ended up being afraid of him! so onto the next home, home 3! 3 homes in 1 year of this dogs life. Now the 3rd home he lived with 2 other corso dogs, 1 intacted male and 1 unaltered female. He did receive some good training from these people. But the 2 male dogs started fighting over the female. So here he is on his 4th home (my home) he just turned 2 the beginning of February. He is my first Cane Corso, I can not imagine my life with out him. Unfortunately you can tell he was not socialized around people from a young age. He is VERY possessive of myself and home, he has made it known that I'm his person on a few occasions. We are continuously working with him but know he may never change.
You are an angel !! I spent fifty years taking care of a few dogs that were outcasts and once they gave me their hearts they were the best dam companions a grizzled ole fart could desire despite their shortcomings.

I know of 3 Cane Corso breeders in the U. S. Senza Tempo Cane Coros , Twelve Titans and Sprezzatura Cane Corso. These are all on TH-cam. They all have beautiful dogs and you can see how they live on TH-cam.

They got a huge one in California called Ruff House Cane Corso as well and they also have a TH-cam
I’ve heard 12 Titans breeds dilutes together and doesn’t health test... but to each his own I guess. 🤕
Jason, your channel has been such a comfort to me and my wife over the past couple of weeks. We just lost our Presa to cancer, it was a long and heart breaking time for us. After living in tears for 2 weeks and swearing we just couldn't go through it again. I opened a card my vet gave me after we had to have or big boy put to sleep, it so beautifully explained our affection, love and passion for our big boy as well as the other dogs we have gone through it with. I began looking at getting a new puppy. I came across your interview on another channel on you tube. Found the link to your channel and have not missed a single video since. The battle we went through trying to save Blue's life has put us in quite a financial bind. So trying hard not to make a rash decision and buying a sub par dog from an UN-reputable breeder has been daily fight. Your warmth and happiness as well as that big black caped crusader have made this whole ordeal a lot more bearable. Thanks for what you do!
Awww so sorry to here about your boy 😭 it's never easy I always say the one fault in dogs is there short life span I hate it 😢

Great job with the past few videos. You are touching upon so many important topics that new dog owners overlook. So much of what you are talking about can make the difference in a good and bad owner and preventing a dog ending up in a shelter because of bad owners.
It’s hard to find a beautiful corso these days, a lot of them have heaps of boxer in them
I think so too. A lot of Corsos I see generally seem too skinny, or they have that horribly long snout that looks more Great Dane than Corso.
A good desert always has good ice cream.
Yeah, that is why I have not made the thousand dollar purchase - it seems they are putting Boxer and Pitt into the breeds and you don't know what your going to get

Very good advice. When we got our girl about 4 1/2 years ago our breeder asked us as many questions about our family and home situation as we asked him about his puppies. Usually reputable breeders are not in a rush to place their puppies because they actually care. Our breeder invited us out to meet him and his wife and their dogs. That’s what they should do if they’ve got nothing to hide.

Hubby and I had trouble finding an Irish Wolfhound breeder. My husband had done tons of research on the breed. Finally got a reputable breeder to call us back and after two phone calls and interviewing us, they allowed, yes allowed us to have one of their puppies. They were in the Northeast, we are along the Gulf Coast. It was a wonderful experience and we got the best puppy for us. It is so important to do your research. In my opinion the best breeders should be a little difficult to find. Ours said they turn people down all the time because of a vibe or folks do not answer their questions correctly. He, like Bruce is very well taken care of. He is insured, went through training and has a used mini van. We do what we have to do to give him the life he deserves. When they are big like Bruce, you have to spend even more time and energy to raise them. Our guy is now 36" at the withers and 155#. PLEASE KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING...you and Bruce are helping so many.
I think I've lucked out since the breed I'm in love is somewhat common and I think I've found one or two breeders I'm willing to look up

I don’t have a dog yet. Im still doing research to decide between a Cane Corso and a Rottie but Im leaning real hard towards a Cane Corso. I love the videos. Bruce Wayne is an absolutely gorgeous animal.

O and if this is your first dog I strongly recommend NOT getting a Cane Corso there not recommend for first time dog owners!

Never had a dog when I was young mainly because my mum got chased through a park by a sausage dog! It was the only time I saw my mum run I thought it was funny. But for me a dogs really are a mans best friend.

Probably people that hate dog breeders, since he is discussing how to find a good one. Too many people believe that all dog breeding is bad when in reality it's just the irresponsible and unethical ones that are adding to the problem of homeless dogs. I used to be the same way until I learned about where a lot of shelter dogs come from and it turned out to NOT be from good breeders. Puppy Mills, backyard breeders, irresponsible owners and now even dogs being shipped in from foreign countries to our shelters are the reasons behind the huge number of homeless animals.

I got a bit lucky. Found a farm near my home where the owner has been breeding Cane Corsos for a few years now. I could tell he did not know much about the breed, he uses them for protection. Got a male for $1200! 5 months old, 57 pounds, gonna be a beast.

Also good breeders naturally become family for live if the dog and overall well being for the future. Simple. Not a lot of words. Bloodline over everything.

Can you give more tips on how to properly get your new puppy adjusted to their new home after first getting them? I am in the research stage of getting a Cane Corso as my next service dog, but I want to make sure I'm picking the right breed be for I fully commit to this breed.
When we got our current labrador retriever, my wife was initially interviewed by the breeder for 90 minutes.. We had to come visit to be even considered allowed to buy a puppy. The breeder asked us EVERYTHING!! We also had to sign a contract when we made the arrangement. I loved every part. We just knew, that this lady - she meant business! She would only sell if every desired condition was met.
The dog turns 5 by the end of this month, and that is a fantastic dog by every sense. We still see the breeder and her family of this day.
Good Job Jason. Puppy scams are some of the biggest scams there is. Not only ask if health tests were done but, ask to see them. They should have no problem showing them to you. One way to tell a real breeder is ... a real breeder is more than willing to talk about their dogs forever. Breeders are talkers.

I would add, if the breeder has other kinds of dogs and cats it is a plus...
My cousin use to breed Rottweilers and she had Shitzus and cats as pets…
Also, if you have a good breeder wait until the puppies are at least 8 weeks… My cousin wouldn't place her puppies before 9 weeks... She would start the socialisation and the training herself and let the puppies socialise with the adults… My cousin's philosophy was, quote: "there is nobody better than another well balanced dog to teach a puppy life!"...
A def plus but I would not choose based on that. You could be passing on a great breeder because they have no other pets. Maybe they are allergic to cats or goldfish?

Having cats to teach manners to the puppies around them is only a "plus" not a "must"...
Also, Sphynx, Bangals and Savannahs are often good with cat allergic people...
My bredder is heavily involved in the AKC and ICCF. They hit all marks you mentioned besides the questions part. Maybe they do that process in person. IdK though.

Finding the right breeder is literally finding a needle in the haystack. But once you do, you will have a friend and resource for the life of your Cane Corso. My breeder follows the “puppy culture” and worked with me to expose my pup to sights and sounds that she’d be exposed to. As a result, my pup came to me house broken, completely stable and very balanced. Three years later, my breeder and I constantly touch base. I share my dog’s health, her temperament, and our activities. A good breeder wants to know how the dog is doing so they can correct any issues in their breeding program. Actually, I feel my breeder is a member of our extended family!

Honestly I've been doing my due diligence and I'll tell you NO BREEDER WILL GET OVER ON ME NOR ANY OTHER DOG LOVER ILL SEND THEM PACKING WITH TEARS I LOVE DOGS AND WON'T LET no one hurt or mistreat a dog in my presence or to my knowledge that's why I studied for over a year because you could be getting a aggressive and fearful dog that no one can handle right away they may need extra TLC AND it takes a special person to work with dogs like that

Whats your opinion on triple k ranch in Dublin Texas , they appear to be a small breeder for ICCF corso's the one im about to get from them cost 1800usd. You said to be wary of corso's that are less than 2000. So when I asked them why they were cheaper they said theirs are bred to be more towards working rather than conformation based off everything you said in this video other than the price makes them seem legit

Maybe the breeder meant a cane presa. In Italy there was originally a large mastiff dog which is now 3 breeds- the Cane Corso, the Cane Presa, and the Neapolitan mastiff.
The press canario is from Canary Island Spain . Nothing Italian about them. The corso Cana de presa and neaoploitan mastif were all considered different name for same dog yrs ago until humans started differentiation between the dogs.

Has anyone on here had any dealings with Blue Kings Cane Corso in Atlanta, GA? They seem great and have talked to them a few times. They are also less than a hour from my house which is really convenient. Just wanted to see if I could get another opinion on them other than listed reviews.

Bought my cane corso 3yrs ago we asked to meet the parents and they said they had a boy and girl pup soo we drover 30mins away(not far really) we get there and it was as close to a puppy mill as possible without being one...it was sad. They never showed us the parents and there was only one corso there a girl, i grew up with mastiffs mainly Neapolitans soo i knew what i was looking for in the pure bred side....she had her papers and the parents and what not but i wanted the boy but i felt bad for even thinking about leaving her there soo we bought her for the low of $900 3yrs later shes my big baby simi asshole lol but iris is now in a better home than when she started out in. And i have been feedeing her RAW for about 2yrs now shes a smaller girl at 125lbs. Just wanted to say i love watching your vids and looking at bruce! Soo beautiful...ill be taking your tips on the next one we get from a breeder👍

Anyone that says what’s the big deal there’s a big deal when you buy any pure bred dog me personally I want to see the bloodline I want to see how far back you can trail the dogs bloodline i personally would like to know what the mother the father the grandmother the grandfather so on and so forth if you can I would like to see pictures of them gives you a better idea on how good the breeder or breeders are how invested are they my brother spent four grand on a bull mastiff that passed away from seizures seven months after he got the dog and me personally I would never want to go through the hard ache I watch my brother go through it’s just common sense so thank you for your videos they’re very informative and I would like your input on what breeders you find are worth visiting
