  • I'm totally and completely in love with Sophie & Toffee's dollhouse miniature molds. So as a quick mid-week tutorial, I'm showing you how I made a mason jar filled with some sort of mysterious herbs for my Harry Dresden, Wizard's Lab diorama!
Let me know in the comments what you think, or if you have any tips and tricks for using these molds. Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram / art.and.anxiety to see more photos of my 1:12 scale Harry Dresden, Wizard's Lab diorama!

hello and congratulations for your beautiful creations. I would like to make wine bottles with hollow interiors, and then fill them with liquid that simulates wine. Are there molds for this type of bottle? How do you recommend me to proceed? 🙏🏻

How cute. I need to try UV resin. Do you suggest any particular UV lights?

Yes, after I made this video I found a small inexpensive one that I really like on Amazon. amzn.to/3v0NtQ9 It's the perfect size for most minis, and folds flat

Just found this. What’s in the red jar under the herbs and the yellowish one on the shelf to the right? Looks great. Love the details

With both of those jars I used polymer clay to make the details. The red one has little balls of clay to resemble eyeballs, or something similar, and the yellow one has a noodle of clay made to look like a snake. Both jars are glass, so I was able to put the clay in while it was soft, and then put the whole jar in the oven to harden the clay.
So glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! 💖

I always end up with an air bubble in the bottom, creating a gaping hole, as well as a veiny effect when I push the top part into the mold. Any advice?

Air bubbles can be caused by a variety of things, but it sounds like you might be trapping air when you push the top into the mold. To prevent that, be sure you're adding enough resin, it's better to overfill than under fill, and don't push the plunger straight down. Instead, push it in a little off center to start with, so there's a gap where any trapped air can escape.
Hope that helps you out! 💖

I haven't tried the UV resin but would like to with my Ball Jar mold. Do you use mold release with this type of mold? Great video BTW!

You should, to improve the lifespan of your mold, but honestly I forget about 50% of the time, and I've never had an issue with demolding. 💖
