In Dying Light 2 you're not even able to get guns until the second half of the game. So how will I be able to progress?

Veronikas death was so unwarranted it actually pissed me off when I first played lol Right after you start to like her too
Exactly! It's a reminder of how grim dark the story actually is. Don't come to like anyone other than the main character, cause they might die at any moment lol

How can you like a character this much when her impact in the story is close to nothing with a slim generic background.
She died off screen because she's not important and pretty much useless as a character overall.
It’s true she didn’t have much of a role, but she willingly came out of hiding for Aiden at hearing she could help him, feeling guilty about what she did as a GRE Doctor in the past (from what I know at least). Or at least that’s why I liked her!

If you're hiding from a zombie or a bandit but your flashlight is still on they will follow your light from your flashlight!!! This is a real Feature in this game.
That's insane, I had no idea that feature was in the game and I now have over 100 hours in it lol
@@FPSurvivor I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think Volatiles can actually react to the sound of your flashlight turning on and off as well. Idk if that's also true for bandits tho as I never stealth against them
@@cynicalnightmare1108 I'm pretty sure Volatiles can I don't know about bandits, maybe though. Dying Light 1 didn't have any of these flashlight features did it?

I think the issue with DL2 is that people forget DL1 was amazing cause it got constant updates and tweaks dl2 won't be in the same state straight away

Dl1 at launch was better than Dl2 2.5 years after launch so I don't see your point

@@IkerPacheco-y8z Dl1 was far from horrendous, it had some technical issues but other than that it was great. For dl2 they've had to rework the gore, parkour, nights, etc. and it's in no way "more advanced" than dl1, sure it has raytracing but also 2008 lods and particles, laughable shadows, a png flashlight, far worse physics and ai, worse voice acting and so on. Techland fired all the talented staff and now they do bs like adding guns

It was a smart idea using a perfect block to get rid of the last zombie at the beginning. Using the 2 guns Aiden was born with to maintain the challenge integrity.

Fun fact that might help for future reference, the reason the zombie at 6:17 walks straight into u, in higher difficulties they actually get lured by ur flashlight, when U shine it on them they’ll come investigate, but when it’s off they’ll path normally.
I had no idea of that, and I’m distraught at just finding out this information

worked on the hard mode on release, volatiles in the VNC tower first chamber, lured them with the flashlight without decoy or bait to not wake up all the sleepers

Veronikas death was something i really liked in the story. Yes, we had just met her and didn't get her too fleshed out. But its a reminder ANYONE CAN DIE AT ANYTIME IN A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. Something i really liked in the first game. The only thing i wish was changed, was that that we could prevent it. Our choices and where we go has a butterfly effect. Like in Elden Ring. Characters will die. But you can prevent almost every character death by exploring and reading clues
Yeahh that would have made the game so much more satisfying, knowing I prevented a death due to exploring the game really thoroughly.
Nearly every NPC dies at the end of their questline in like any Souls game, especially Elden Ring, what are you on about? 😂
@@K1NG_of_ReVeNGe1 that you can at least temporarilly change when they die, so you can spend more time learning about them
A nice detail that i never noticed until my last playthrough is that in the intro section of the game everytime we have a seizure because of the infection or take a inhibitor our stamina and health values change

13:55 you can skip these guys simply by running outside to where the car factory is located. Aiden will auto blackout there, saving you from having to goomba stomp guys :)

One thing I've always found funny about the DL2 lore is at first it was like "There's no guns, we ran out of ammo and didn't know how to make more so guns are useless." But then you're able to make what's essentially a tiny one-use shotgun. Then they came out with the gun update that just butchered the previous lore.

@@FPSurvivor And one other thing I remember, in DL1 you can hold up the Melee variants of Rais' men, but they never thought of it for DL2 so the Renegades are basically mindless psychos with no self-preservation when it comes to a guy with a gun pointed at them.
I guess to be fair in that regard, every renegade IS a psycho lol
But I know there are moments in DL2 where the enemy will see that they lost and put their weapon down. Not sure why the gunpoint thing would have been taken out with that still being present in the game.
Fun fact, when you use dash and perform an enemy jump, it can deal damage but a small amount, at the end of the day its still damage you can use to kill waltz
Sadly your normal jump and abilities are changed with Volatile Aiden’s abilities. I tried what you mentioned, and it sent me jumping into the ceiling lol
@FPSurvivor how many times did you try, if they didn't patch it then it should be after 7 or more times, yes your supposed to go high
A bunch, it's like it didn't register any of Aiden's normal abilities including dash

if you do stealth you should turn off your flashlight as they notice if its on or off
Omg. I didn’t know that was a thing lol
the lore reason behind the turning into a volatile thing is supposedly because of how well Aiden did on the tests (which were early stage inhibitors, which are those needles that level your health or stamina), combined with the fact that Aiden keeps using inhibitors, because the inhibitors are basically just purposely injecting more THV (Harran Virus) into your system. I dont think the why was ever fully explained, but it all leads back to Aiden using every inhibitor he comes across to get stronger, which had some... undesirable effects

It's the same button as Dying Light so I knew how to use it, but for some reason it didn't work yet. Pressing T didn't do anything lol

honestly i don’t think i ever remember their being guns in this game the only ranged weapon i am used to was the bow i assume the pistol was a limited time one time thing cause i never saw a single gun since even when clearing the game all i had were melee weapons and a gold bow
The guns are actually new! Definitely worth getting on the old save and checking them out!

I love how it’s so not noticed that Rowe dies but if you make the right choices he comes to fight with you and frank when Matt betrays you
Really, are you sure? I just looked it up and I can't find anywhere that says Rowe can be saved. That'd be awesome if he can though! I loved Rowe in this game.
@@FPSurvivor he can’t but in the ending you got where jack betrays you and the nightrunners come to help they used the same character model to a T as rowes so maybe they originally had a way or something along those lines especially considering all the cut content but that IS Rowe whether they say it or not watch the cutscene closely

I am waiting to see Kyle Crane back in the newest Dying Light: The Beast. Because if they somehow can make DL1 but with Dl2's improvments plus having player playing as Crane, then it would be the biggest thing they have ever done for this franchise.
It'll be interesting to see how they handle it, because I have a feeling playing as Crane with Dying Light 2's mechanics will feel super off lol

26:50 the TPP thing is the only reason I didn't get DOOM Ethernal LOL. After playing 2016 game with the immersive FPP I just can't get myself to like it. I'd guess it's because there has to be a moment when you can see the unicorn skin and whatnot LOL. Sad they went down this path.
I'm in that boat, with me I just don't like third person games as much as first. I like to be as immersed as possible in the games I play.
@@FPSurvivor I enjoy both, like Dark Souls is immersive in its own way imo, but a franchise that was always FPP and now feels the need to include 'cinematic cutscenes' for... what reason besides mentioned skin showoff? And I think mechanicaly or in terms of optimizaton Ethernal is one of the best FPS to day so it's not targeted hate...

Honestly after 2 years Dying Light 2 doing pretty good, they bringed back a lot of features from DL1, also new game that is direct sequel to DL1 is coming Yahoo!
There also story DLC already, also there's sale on Steam Right now and Reloaded edition only costs 24 dollars!!! (It has every DLC in it)

I have 700 plus hours on the original dying light and playing this game at first was horrible there were so many bugs and glitches that made playing it impossible like audio glitching out and not letting me hear and the final mission glitching out and not letting me complete the story but this video made me want to return
This game still to this day has some issues. For example, whenever I start up the game I have to stand still for about 5 minutes and let the game catch up with itself, otherwise there's terrible lag. But even so, I still think Dying Light 2 is a ton of fun!

I decided to skip the prologue to get into the meat of the game. I did feel a bit cheap doing it, but this video would have taken another few days to come out if I did the whole prologue as well lol
How did you barely take any damage at the beginning there at cillians house when a viral slapped you twice? I thought you were playing on nightmare mode
I was playing on Nightmare mode, what you're seeing is the actual amount of damage they do to you. I didn't even have that much armor on.
I think in this game they don't do a ton of damage to instant kill you, especially early on because of the fact you don't regenerate health.

I recently got to the to of the VNC tower after upgrading that thing to skydiving to the third level
Congrats! Getting to the top of the VNC is no easy task
If you didn’t know you can aim down sights, on ps5 its R3 idk about pc and xbox but it is possible to aim
Thanks! I do so in the video eventually, but since aiming down sights is locked behind the fighting skill tree, I didn’t unlock it until way down the line in the playthrough
When I finished the game when it came out it isn’t just me or did it feel like there’s nothing else to do but now you can do a lot more things
That was definitely the case for me! I’m happy they are adding raids and everything to supplement the endgame. There wasn’t even New Game + when I first started playing lol

Playing solo is where most of the difficulty comes from, but there's no wrong way to do a challenge I think!
If DL2 brought in the oroginal grapple, id happily play the game again. Sucks theres no mods for it.
Also, only using guns is the easy part. Thats all i ever used!! Lmao
I love the guns in this game, but I won't put myself through the grind to get that ammo again lol
I honestly think the grapple is alright in this game when you spam it, it'll send you flying forward and it can be pretty fun!
I haven’t played this game since it came out pretty much, but I thought there weren’t supposed to be any guns in the game that was like the whole point. Like the closest you could get was the crossbow or the handmade broomstick, when did they add guns?
I believe it was in February, but it's not been very long at all! I also remember them saying they would never add guns but here we are lol
i forgot they added guns to dying light 2, i got a bit confused
Yeahh that's why I wanted to do this challenge! What better way to check out new content than to force yourself into only using the new content lol

It's a rough life out there without a walkthrough on your first time playing. Only reason I knew what to do was because I've played the games and experienced all the bad options a few times already!
I really thought you would abuse boomstick to kill big dudes but that's better than.Nice suffering.
Does the boomstick do some crazy damage or something? I used it like 2 times throughout the playthrough on normal walkers lol
@@FPSurvivor base version is quite terrible but upgrades makes it great.Last i played it max upgrade version had 5 shots.Completely silent (upgrade makes it silent) so does not attract virals and 3-4 shots was enough to kill big dude.
I agree the game at launch was weird.. like nights were terrible and not scary at all.. i beat the game and never touched it until that darker nights update a few months back.. now the tower raid that just finished.. its been allotta fun and i even went through and did the dlc
I had a similar experience, I stopped playing due to the parkour being.. terrible lol
As soon as the physical parkour update came I returned though! And here I am again after the introduction to guns and nightmare mode!
