First of your videos I’ve seen, your honesty in your opening left me wanting to watch more of your experience and knowledge of rainbows, hopefully I’ll set up my 6’ with an amazing natural Aussie river tank
This is one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TANKS I'VE EVER SEEN!!! My husband knew I was watching fish videos and I saw this and said "Uh oh"..... he knows what that means lol
Thank you! Honestly aside from the wood and rock, which is simply done, this is just time and patience letting the plants do their thing. Especially the tiger lotus, give them time and they'll replicate and make an amazing field for you
I think this is the best tour of a single tank I've ever watched. This is my new favorite youtube series. I have two red lotus that have been in the tank for 3 months - one is a brown lump, the other is slowly growing - wider vs taller. It's my favorite plant in your tank... I'm dreaming of the future.
thank you for showing us your tank. I aspire to build a rainbow tank in the future. I am thinking about starting on a smaller scale though with some of the smaller rainbow fish
I love the bosemonti rainbows they look so awesome. I just got my first school of 6 for my 40 breeder. Can't wate to upgrade to a 75 and get more. Those guys made me fall in love with rainbows. I would love to get some different kinds. Love your tank it looks awesome 👌
Sorry I took so long Mon Amie but I only watch your videos when I have time to watch undisturbed and so I can take notes on your plants in particular. You are my plant Guru Bentley. If you saw the current state of my plants, you would tell me to not to ever mention your name again. I moved a bunch of moss and Suswassertang into different water conditions and they are adapting but finally after three weeks, they are starting to show signs of life. The inspiration you give me is great, thanks man! I don't hate Rainbow's I have grown to really like them. Not always available here but there are some about. I may end up with some once I get the Multifasciatus tank running!
Hi ,great vid, love my rainbows therefor yours too. Very nice tank, like every plant, all have their own beauty , I specially like all Rotala species, but I can't grow them all, I try though and have fun with it .
There is a little beauty tucked into the bottom of the dragonstone. We didn’t get to see to much of it, but I think you said it was a bucephelandra red. I think that’s my fave.
That bright Red/Orange one looks like a Hybrid too to be honest, doesn't look like a Dorityi Rainbowfish. I got the same bright coloured fish from a chain store and it was very aggressive, looked just like yours.
@@BentleyPascoe I really liked the colour of mine (I had 2) but had to move them on from my tank as they were so boisterous! Real shame. Love your tank though, looks like everything works well for you.
I love rainbow tanks! 😍 Yours like a dream! Thank you also for the help on how many rainbows I could put in my tank. 💛🙏🏼 I also think it's soo good that you talk about fish sickness. I have some of my older rainbow boesmani that have like a tiny flap on their lip that sticks out but I can't see it being fungus because it hasn't spread and it's not cloudy/fluffy. I also one female/or male that's really really hard to sex. I've looked at colours and sometimes it's blue-ish at the front and more yellow back put sometimes it looks more like a female that's just greenish/ yellow with a horizontal line like the other females. The fish is big and I guess it's old. I've looked at the fine and I don't think it overlaps. The bodyshape is hard because the fish is big almost like my biggest male. The biggest male that rules the tank doesn't chase it away like the other males but I'm still not sure. Is it possible to send you a film or picture? Would love to have a second opinion! 😊
Now in Canada to insure the appropriate use of antibiotics and to reduce the development of antibiotic resistance a prescription from a veterinarian is required to obtain antibiotic therapy for any animal.
Great video as always! I really like your red tiger lotus... I have had them in the past - and currently again in one of my tanks - completely healthy but none of the leaves ever open up and fill out under water like yours keeping that wonderful color. Any tips / tricks that I may be missing? Keep up the great content - I love these tank of the week segments :)
I've noticed keeping that flow over the leaves helps them open nice and wide, color wise, I dose a pretty heavy amount of iron (Easy Iron at recommended dose twice a week) to help keep that nice deep color.
I'm now slightly addicted to Rainbow fish... I now have some Bosmani, Personi, Aleni, yellow. And some unidentified... Was curious if you had a good resource for rainbow identification?
Maybe a stupid question but, they say 6 or more rainbow fish in the tank as they school. Is that 6 of the same type of rainbow or just 6 rainbows in general? About to setup a community rainbow tank myself! Already have some turquoise rainbows and dwarf neon rainbows!
How is the bushy nose with plants? I am setting up a 110 tall for rainbows and moving over a 7 gal with a baby lemon blue eye longfin. But I really want swords! And vals. Thanks
This is a 135g tank, 72"x18"x24". I gave you some details in your last question about the 75, it all depends on filtration and water changes. 10-12 is pretty safe, more is possible with certain equipment and maintenance work
@@BentleyPascoe yea sorry I realised I had already asked this question to you only. I was on video watching spree. In case I have asked this again somewhere apologies beforehand. :) Thanks for patiently answering again.
Hi Bentley, nice tank! I have two questions if I may. The Cryptocoryne affinis is the variant sold by Dennerle? Also I see your lotus is located in front of the filter output so that means they don't have problem with flow?
My affinis came from a friend, but I think it's likely the same as the denerle. As for flow with lotus, the fx6 has a pretty mild output flow, but I've never seen mine struggle in it, honestly they seem to benefit from the flow
Those are glossolepis incisus aka the red rainbow or irian rainbow. For a 100 you have a lot of options, almost anything. Which color do you like, start there!
thanks! the red is what I was asking about, I thought there were 2 kinds. to your question, I am going to seek out the red and turquoise. @@BentleyPascoe
I am trying to build up a rainbow fish tank I have some boesmani rainbows, Australian rainbow, and I want to get the turquoise with Madagascar all in the same tank I was told you need 5 to 6 of the same species to stock them what's your thoughts about this? from what I've seen in your video there looks like some rainbows that are 2 and 3 or less of the same species ? I want 4 diff kinds of rainbow fish do I need to have 5 to 6 of the same kind?
This video was awesome. I am thrilled that you are doing the tank of the week series.

I think all the fish were all beautiful. And I loved the lotus and the banana plants 😘🌺
This tank inspires.. so glad I found your channel.
Glad you enjoy it!
Looks sweet
Hi Bentley, I found ur channel by accident. Love love love ur fish tank. 😍😍😍
It’s great how you go through all the aquatic plants as I’m really addicted to collecting them. I like these aquarium features Bentley.🤘
Fantastic. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful tank! Love that red lotus! - Little Bobby
love love love the red tiger lotus!
I really like this series and your absolute upfront disclosure of problems. Love red lotus and bananna plants, yours are gorgeous.
👍💕👍
Awesome tank of the week. My favorite plant was the red tiger lotus and fish were the rainbows
Great looking tank . Love the little overgrown look ... it’s natural beauty. Great video.
thanks rainbow fish for getting Bentley back into the hobby , now hes able to share with us all thanks to you lol
That's a beautiful tank, the colours on your fish are so intense! 😁 I hope your sick fish are better soon. 😊
My favorite plant is the red tiger lotus and my favorite fish is the boesmani

Buce Super Red, there's a few more tucked around the dragonstone, but I absolutely love that plant. Thanks for watching!
The outro 🤣🤣
I like Denison barbs, I've had a few and was always suprised how big they can get, they just take a minute to get there.
I love their behavior

Could be, it was originally Jimmy's before he moved. In person I see the strong zig zag patterns they're known for, so it's a guess really.

It's pretty unfortunate how strict it has become in Canada and word is that's on the horizon in the US as well.
Nice👍🙂

👌👽👌 we have the same hairstyle lol
I'm now slightly addicted to Rainbow fish... I now have some Bosmani, Personi, Aleni, yellow. And some unidentified... Was curious if you had a good resource for rainbow identification?
It can be difficult, but rainbowfish.angfaqld.org.au/Melano.htm is a good resource for many
Maybe a stupid question but, they say 6 or more rainbow fish in the tank as they school. Is that 6 of the same type of rainbow or just 6 rainbows in general? About to setup a community rainbow tank myself! Already have some turquoise rainbows and dwarf neon rainbows!
6 rainbows in general, you'll often see big mixed groups where it's a couple of this, one of that, more of those, etc.
How is the bushy nose with plants? I am setting up a 110 tall for rainbows and moving over a 7 gal with a baby lemon blue eye longfin. But I really want swords! And vals. Thanks
bushy noses are great with nearly all plants except sword plants, they will eat swords.
@@BentleyPascoe well it may be time to swap the sword on my list for Cryptocoryne usteriana. Will BP leave crypts alone? *crossing fingers*
Noob question...when you have mixed rainbows, do they cross breed and you get hybrid off spring?
Yes, it is very common for rainbows to crossbreed
That a beautiful tank. What are the dimensions and stocking levels of this tank. How many can I keep in 75 Gallon?
This is a 135g tank, 72"x18"x24". I gave you some details in your last question about the 75, it all depends on filtration and water changes. 10-12 is pretty safe, more is possible with certain equipment and maintenance work

@@BentleyPascoe Thank you Sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Hi,
How many bosemani rainbow fish can I put in my community 100 litres tank? I just have small fishes like tetras, dwarf ciclids, corys, etc. Thanks.
That's likely too small for Boesemani along with other fish. You want about 200L or larger for Boesemani
Does the red tiger Lilly need a nutrient rich substrate? Or can liquid ferts take care of its needs?
Substrate helps, but liquid should suffice. I've seen it do well in inert substrate before.
So.. what are the 2 red colored rainbows? Which one should I seek out for my 110 tall?
Those are glossolepis incisus aka the red rainbow or irian rainbow. For a 100 you have a lot of options, almost anything. Which color do you like, start there!
thanks! the red is what I was asking about, I thought there were 2 kinds. to your question, I am going to seek out the red and turquoise. @@BentleyPascoe
@@toddbigeasy there's another the pseudoincisus aka millennium red rainbow. One is more metallic one is more matte in color. Both are great!
What was the first rainbowfish you listed? How do you spell it’s name as I would love to put one in my aquarium!
First rainbow listed is my male Melanotaenia Goldiei 'Dekai'
Bentley Pascoe Thank you!
Do the different types of rainbows breed, mixed in the tank together?
They can yes, but usually the eggs get eaten in large community tanks or fry don't survive
What was that stem plant? Ludwigia what?
Ludwigia arcuata x repens

No, you can have only a few as long as the overall group of rainbows is 8-12 fish (or more of course) they will shoal together.

what size is the tank
