Wow... wow... Wow! I was listening to the original track and wondered if I could find a live performance (wasn't sure if I would as I don't believe it to be a very popular track of theirs). But hello, this exactly what I was looking for!! Absolutely epic 🤩❤️🔥🔥
Actually I think that is true for me too. Although I first became their fan in 1997 when Discotheque and Pop came out, this was a song I remembered being played a lot on the radio that I knew was by U2, and I liked it. I also liked the perfecto remix of Even Better Than The Real Thing beforehand. After I discovered their back catalogue I realised I knew quite a few of their songs. I discovered that Desire was a song that used to be played as a jingle on Capital Radio in the early 1990s.
@@petersmithyy4556I was 6, and when this song played during the end credits I got goosebumps. Had no idea who U2 was then, just that I fucking LOVED it.
This is a masterpiece. Brilliance. Great lyrics, the energy's outstanding, Bonoman's charisma is peaking, & his voice still sounds amazing. The band is tight, & the Edge is.... The Edge. To highlight the obvious... The Spectacle & majesty of POPMART, a larger than life experience. How many have figured out the concept of the stage design...? It's 'One' lone candle in the night. I don't care what anyone says.... One of these days, these guys will reveal, what I've known for years.... They're Extra-Dimensionals. Aren't ya fellas? Thanks for the ideas, the connection & the years.
Everyone is talking about the chorus and the ending riffs but damn, something as simple as his powerchords sound so clean and polished i'm fucking amazed
I remember first hearing this song in the summer of 1995 when Batman Forever was playing in the movie theatres right after my first year of University. By September during the first week of back to school, the students union used the title of this song for their University campus Week of Welcome i.e. "WoW" and their motto was "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, WoW Me".
I can't name a band that sounds better and more comfortable in an arena. It's like their songs were all meant to be played in front of 50k screaming people.
I think all of their stage clothes were meant to look ridiculous. That’s the image: over the top. A ridiculous rock star. Bono said as much in some interview I watched. I think it’s a pretty cool concept.
Now this is Extreme Quality of men from an extremely dedicated era of masters and their pieces! Styles, skills, spectacular performances, man ! Glad to be born as a 90s baby Yeah! U2, absolute Legends living in every century and many more to come! Bono's voice never changes one bit!
There’s a time somewhere in the late 2000’s that U2 lost the plot a little, but man this right here is a band at the absolute peak of its power. A swagger and confidence that’s rarely matched in rock music.
I agree with you. Batman is nice too. Remembering good times of the past. I remembered this music listen to it in the section of Soundtracks at my payperview TV called NET(I'm from Brazil). Thank you for posting online in the social network YT. I wish sucess for you. Have a good day...
One of the most underrated guitar riff ever !
The whole tune is rather T-Rex, which I love!
@@JoeyLevenson specifically the slider album!
The Nono word
Absolutely. Fact is it is ignored because it doesn’t appear on a U2 studio album.
Great tune. But still I think U2 are overrated.

We can argue endlessly about what is the best U2 song, but there's no debate about this being the most badass one ;)
Yeah. Wouldn't call this their best, but it's certainly the one that rocks the most.

The level of sound vibration coming from those Huuuge speakers was something to experience once in a life time...

This song is the only reason I can’t hate u2 or bono.
I think like you (both)
OK IT IS OFFICIAL U2 IS THE BEST🤘🤘🤘🤘
This guys had some swagger back then. I think this is by far the best U2 moment and tour. Pop got a lot of flack, but is such a great album.
